Thanks :)

All those dead Legions to drive over, it got very messy for the poor Spartan.

I'm powering through my pair of attack bikes, they shall be done by the end of the weekend. In the mean-time, have a sneak peek at my latest creations:

Legion Command elements:

Gahlan Surlak

Howdy gentlefolks.

I am proud to present my first ever coherent, fully painted Horus Heresy army! A full 2.5k points, ready to take into the FLGS tomorrow to try and get some games!

XVII Legion Harvest Force - Special Operations Company - Under Overall Command of Centurion-Apothecary Gahlan Surlak. Under military command of Pit Warden Elafor

Legion Inductii Squad Tertius-0723B, led by Centurion-Apothecary Gahlan Surlak. These inductii do not appear into any recovered intelligence recovered from World Eater indoctrination centres during the Scouring.  It is likely that like most Inductii, they were children or other refugees forced into a horrifying choice - undergo implantation or die. Little did most know that both were a death sentence. Squad Tertius-0723B are transported into battle by the Spartan Dark Throne. This is a particularly dark fated vehicle, having previously belonged to the XVIII Legion, it was recovered after Red Butcher units "deal" with it's previous owners.

Legion Despoiler Squad "Mycaran Lions" led by Pit Warden Elafor, known as the "Blood Minotaur", a famous Pit Champion who become an unofficial enforcer of Pit "law". These enforcers were widely held to be the equivalent of what other Legions would call Chaplains, holding to them the practices and codes of the Legion - even if they were just how many fights you could enter per cycle. The Mycaran Lions dedicated transport has been the Spartan "Doom of Minoss" since the first century of the Great Crusade.

Ancient Saffar, once a renowned heavy weapons captain, now interred within the heavy weapons variant of the Contemptor dreadnought patter. Long may he rain fire down upon the High Rider scum. Distinctive red stripe patterning on the occulo-helm indicate Saffar received the Primarch's Blessing prior to entombment, which correlates with his indiscriminate and often excessive offload of munitions during his deployments. Thankfully he still retains sanity enough to direct his fire on the Warmaster's enemies, which he will continue to do until the day his will breaks and he is transferred to a Contemptor dreadnought and loosed into the next engagement as a "fire and forget" rampager weapon of frightening effect.

Solar Auxilia Support Cadre - 33rd Accatran Pathfinders "Void Dragoons" - Mandate: Support XVII Legion in harvest and military operations. Overall Commander: Gahlan Surlak. Overall Military Command: Lord Marshal Dexoix, Local Commander: Captain Tappe

Originally attached to the XVII Legion Expeditionary Fleet outside of Angron's immediate remit, they survived long enough to make an impression and due to the distance from Legion High Command were often utilised as second line forces or to secure ground taken by their Legion Masters. After Istvaan their Lord Marshal threw in his lot with the Warmaster, in exchange for control of any worlds he conquered (subject to regular tithes in young men for indoctrination). A Tercio was attached to the Special Operations - Harvest Legion force led by Gahlan Surlak to assist in not-as-lethal-as-XVII-Legion-crowd control during harvesting operations. Frequently human populations would feel more at ease being herded into mass conveyors at gunpoint by fellow mortals. They also saw extensive action, their heavy armour frequently used to cover the headlong assaults of beserker World Eater assaults.

12-1 Company, Squad 7 - Designated Veletarii Close Assault Support  "Crematers" sent into local township to assist in elimination of Imperial Army and XVIII Legion resistance.

"Crematers" Dracosian heavy transport, fitted with Demolisher cannon to aid in pro-active resettlement of Imperial resistance forces. Note hazard striping on demolisher cannon ballistic shield, suggested to be a morbid joke by their crew.

Vanquisher detachment "Perforators" composed of Vanquishers "Imperial Remorse" and "Imperial Tears". Cognomen of Void Dragoons seem to indicate heavy use or ironic or morbid humour, perhaps to alleviate the insanity that must press when serving alongside the XVII Legion for such an extended period of time.

Fluff done. Hopefully some games tomorrow! For the Warmaster!

G'day folks

In case anyone missed it, I chainaxed up some Raven Guard real good here - http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/320816-g-potatios-epic-bat-rep-thread-rg-v-we-s-aux/?do=findComment&comment=4346932

Additionally, in preparation for ETL and just general hobby-crazy I have created some reinforcements from BaC. I have some of the shiny new Cataphractii pads incoming to finish them and some volkite culverins for the remaining BaC power armour sets.

Anyways, Terminator Close Assault squad "Spears of the Aquila" and Ancients Pelos and Finn-kra. They're all Terran veterans, which is why they are rocking standardised loadouts (no axes). They don't have any Butchers Nails (yet). They were initially Loyalist having heard of Istvaan while off on Crusade, after being sent away by Angron for being so "normal". They were attacked en-route to Terra to swear loyalty to the Throne by some Imperial Fists who wouldn't listen to them - so they killed their way clear, took over the Imperial Fist cruiser and truculently slunk back to go find Angron. Sort of a Thousand Suns tragedy with these guys, bitter that their loyalty was spurned by the Imperium and Angron - but they find succour within the brotherhood found in their fellow legionaries.

I noticed after that the Maw was hanging off Mr Right Hand Dreadnought, he has since been fixed up real gooder.

I am most looking forward to painting this bad boys up.

I'm running them as follows:

Tsarge chainfist, combi-plas

3x Combi-plas, 1x Plasma blaster

Interchangeable melee weapons - can run 2x of each of powerfist, lightning claw or chainfist.

To be borne into battle in Dreadclaws - to be bought later.
