Hello

I'm totally new to 40K game, but I'm aware of lores and stories of 40K universe. While reading some books, I was fascinated to IG army, especially I love the concept of "normal human" army fighting against superhumans, aliens, and demons, with blood, sweat and tears. So I decide to play IG, though I know that current IG codex is not that strong. I just want to enjoy the process of "overcoming uphill battles" with the army of "normal" humanity, and have some fun. I don't want to call the army "Astra militarum". To me, their perfect name would be the Imperial Gurad, as the name indicates their major objectives.

I wish to have some kind of "modernized" IG army, so I hope to try conversion of some vehicles with nato tricolor painting. Right now I only have BRB and codex, and I'm not sure how much time, budget, and effort I can invest, but I will keep slow and steady policy for my army building. Starting from 500pt list, I wish that I could increase the size of the army someday.

If any 40K gamer in Merced (or Modesto or Fresno) CA, I would happy to watch and learn some 40K fun.

Thank you

Best,

Welcome to the forum and the guard son! The Imperial Guard are my personal staple and a damn fine one at that.

Start small and take it from there. True guard armies take years to assemble, but are by far the largest, most varied and tactically varied.

Just make sure you settle on a good scheme at the very beginning. You do not want to go back and repaint 100+ guardsmen...
