Speedy work, still waiting for my statue piece unfortunately - maybe when I finally get it I might actually paint it :P Got any particular plans for the upcoming 9th changes? I'm thinking about that second Valkyrie I have still in the box, might finally be time with the removal of movement penalties for vehicles.

Although I still have my 2 Valks in various stages of repainting which I should probably finish off too

However we all know at this point I'm terrible at finishing projects so I started on another which was to prime my recently stripped chimeras

There should be a 3rd in this picture but despite drying for 2 weeks in 35C+ weather one still hasn't dried :down:

Left the airbrush out to try and get the base colours on this week too

Why elevate the Chimera turrets? Do the vehicles' passenger compartment roofs obstruct the turrets, and you want them capable of 360° traverse, to defend against targets to the rear?

Bjorn the turrets are propped up on bottle caps for painting

As hoped I got to use the airbrush again tonight and got the base coat of paint down for my new colour

For comparison I put them next to my existing schemes that they'll be joining

I think I'll do my taroux and chimeras this colour and my basilisk, hellhounds et al chassis the same grey as the tanks. I had thought to do them the same blue as the chimeras but I'm not sure? I could do them a completely different shade? Thoughts?

Also I assembled and primed my angry sister and pet elf

I think it's better to keep the colours consistent for a cohesive army. Unless you want to go more realistic where perhaps there was some mix up with paints, or availability and they have to make do with slight differences :P

Well they already got a boost with move and shoot and I think it's BS3? So that would be nice if it's points dont go up significantly it'll be similarly priced to a LE and which changes to LoS and terrain might have a purpose fingers crossed

 

I am hoping the new FW rules aren't far behind

Made a little bit of progress on my Scions that I be neglected for a while

Well I finally finished my first squad of new colour scheme Scions

Started these guys a while back finished the details today

Also add the details to the Prime which I skipped last time so he was tournament ready

As Scions go these guys take a while especially l the details. Having looked at various pictures and comparing before and after I think it's worth it though. Upside is I can get them tournament ready fairly quickly and go back and do the details later

Now I need to record the colours before I forget them... :ermm:

Well I have my first game scheduled for next Wednesday

I'm still waiting for my rules to show up because I made the mistake of ordering a non 9th Ed release item and GW only shipped 9th Ed items last week... So hopefully I have my book before the game!

 

I threw together a list I'm semi happy with. I like list building to have some level of compromise but I feel right now it's a bit extreme especially with our wargear costing the same as Marines

Really would prefer the scions to be their own detachment but then my TCs would become regular LRs

I'm not sure even the HSVGs are worth it without special doctrines

 

Anyhow I'll see how it goes vs my friends AdMech

Somewhat productive weekend

Magnetised the 3 sentinels I'd built earlier and then primed them all as well as some other models

I also got the base coat down on this :D

Also I decided for my up coming game I'll probably take my RG because its easier to transport. I'll still use this list when I host at mine though

Well just had a 5 day weekend and didn't get any of the actual hobby I wanted done

Instead it was a random assortment of things

I moved my airbrush into the basement, hopefully I can use it more frequently down there.

I also set up a gaming space for a few friends to drop by and play. Went all out and got some cheap exercise tiles to lay around the table since the current carpet is direct on concrete with no underlay.

Finally built a bit more terrain for the table too.

Ps. I am well aware the 60s called for their carpet back, they keep leaving msgs. Hopefully by the end of the year we will have refinished all the rooms down there. Or at the very least this one :D
