Today in the Hobby I magnetized the arms for both BaC Contemptors. I decided to magnetize below the shoulders, in the same location as my FW Contemptors. After hacking the power-fist arm, I was dismayed to find a hole much too large for my magnets,

...however upon cutting the Melta and Kheres arms, I found that they have a perfect ledge for the 2mm x 1mm magnets I use,

Today in the Hobby, I attached the shoulders to the two BaC Contemptors and magnetized some FW weapons to go withe the plastic ones,

I really enjoyed the first installment of The Beast Arises. We're introduced to a Galaxy at (retaliative) peace. The Heresy is history, the Scouring completed. The Imperial Fists, considered by some, an unnecessary luxury. The book covers what starts out a political deployment of the Fists, and snowballs into the entire Chapter deploying, the first time since it's Founding. There's decent amount of bolter-porn, as well as enough meat to set up the rest of the series. I'll definitely be picking up Predator, Prey on saturday.

Cheers,

Jono

Today, I had a really productive day in the Hobby.....and got on such a roll that I completely neglected to take any pictures until I was done.....

I prepared myself for this build by watching Duncan's vid on the FW Visual Feed channel on Youtube. I'll say straight up, that I've never been one for bothering to gap-fill, and my build will certainly show it. I did, at least, spend quite a bit of time with the kettle straightening out quite a few warped pieces. Unfortunately, even with test fitting, the Assault Ramp is still a little wonky, and threw off the rest of the chassis. In order to get the Spartan to sit level, I had to hack at some of the internal locating lugs.

Now onto the horror that is my Spartan....

...part of getting the Spartan to sit level involved the removal of some details...

....and of course I had the "there's one track link too many" issue, which I totally forgot was a thing, and glued the tracks on from the bottom, leaving my nasty patch-work to happen on the top track links,

Today I finally started unpacking my books after moving in October, and putting my shelves back to good use,

...and with the return of Loyalty and Treachery, I jumped onboard with the Spartan, and even put some primer on it,

my to-do for tomorrow is to assemble and primer the sponsons for the Spartan.

Cheers,

Jono
