Davinite Lodge Priest, Demagoge of the Serpent Lodge, Avatar of Azhak'zhajaa'rhil

In the long years of separation from Terra during the Age of Strife, the inhabitants of Davin (or Homo Afarensis as called by the Magos Biologis) physically altered from the baseline human norm. They became taller and more sinuous and their features more bestial. Their pupils grew until they filled most of their red eyes.

In the aftermath of the events on Davin, many Davinites took part in an exodus to the stars - these twisted abhuman magos and demagogues each were part of one of the animist and totemic warrior and mystic cults of Davin. Of these, one of the most commonly encountered were initiates of the so-called Serpent Lodge, but numerous other were also recorded.
The warrior lodge priests appeared to serve a higher interest than the individual Warp Cults they often followed into battle, and may have been acting in concert with certain conspirators at the highest levels of the Traitors' leadership, in particular the Dark Apostles of the Word Bearers.
While some lodge priests served as advisors in matters of prophecy and the Warp, others acted as high priests under whom multiple cult bodies could be gathered together. All were schooled in the darkest arts of warp craft and were able to call upon and wield the most terrible of warp-born powers and aberrant psyker abilities, making them one of the most dangerous of the Warmaster's allies ....

Update!  Skorr is moving along and rapidly closing in on the point I can go back and correct all my mistakes.  So, he's nearly done except for the axe, hair, and holster.  And of course armor clean up.

Procrastination! It may as well be my watchword. tongue.png

Despite having the week off to work on this, that's only just everything assembled now. Considering I need this stuff for the Weekend, tomorrow and Friday are going to be busy getting everything basecoated and all the colours blocked out, so they at least look like Iron Warriors for Saturday's game.

The full album of the models so far can be seen on Imgur. http://imgur.com/a/u1AFd

Progress on my vow...incredibly slow, but progress nonetheless.

With the move and all, my place has been a warzone these couple of weeks. Finally hunkered down though, and finished organizing my stuff into a semblance of a proper paint studio.

..and with that, some pics!

24663014765_04acdf7ddf_z.jpg24663016825_61aa95590a_z.jpg24295306209_e92b792476_z.jpg24036205383_24a1de407a_z.jpg

Primed black first, then hit with a layer of Tamiya metallic blue spray. The consistency is solid in the layer, but the smell is that of death incarnate. It has the incredibly undesirable gloss sheen, but a layer of black ink, and the final matte spray would fix that.

24036054083_35ae5b92de_z.jpg24036056553_cd486a5678_z.jpg24367323400_b0a57b6e03_z.jpg

Still don't have a drybrush, so resorted to multiple layers of increasingly brighter mixes of dark prussian blue and metallic medium via sponging. I splattered on the black ink to tone down the sheen, and hit with another layer of the initial mix used for sponging at the front area of the wings and the rear of the tail fins. The underbelly is the still dark metallic sheen from the Tamiya coat.

Also did an initial application of decals on the top rear fins (probably the only ones I'll apply), and a bit of edge highlighting and a test of a lightning bolt. I have a solid foundation I'll build up on, and I could probably finish the initial layers of the Strike Fighter by this weekend (cross my fingers).

The blotchy ink job is intentional, my way of creating areas to apply smoke/oil stains on :P

I can see amazing progress all around! We have now reached 74 participants and the quality of the output is top notch!

Let me remind you, for those who are interested, that I have added in the first post the Legion-specific banners made by SG back in 2013!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!
