Captain Semper

AlphariusOmegon108, the vets are looking great!

BlueBelly1863, loving that green! The freehand on the flames is well done too.

Well I've finished my first squad of Veterans.
I'm chuffed with how they've come out.

I think I'll probably do some more vets with meltaguns next. I think I'm on track to meet my pledge!

@Jud thanks for the compliments sir! THose ultras are jaw-dropping! The two-tone helmets is an awesome touch, I think that adds a lot to their look. Howd you do the mohawks?

@underdog thank you! He is a bit bright, I may paint the shoulders black or something. I've thought about weathering, but I have no experience with it and don't relaly have all the resources I would like to have here at college. Once home for the summer I'm definitely going to try it on a few models and see how it turns out. I do envisage my guys are torn up by Istavaan so I think it'd fit well. We'll see!

Thanks very much! Glad you like them.

The mohawks are Roman crests from Anvil Industry.

Don't suppose we could get a picture of that bare headed Legionary, second marine in, on the second row right hand side could we?

He looks pretty damn brilliant

No problem mate, can't see a whole lot on him though since its just purple and white at the moment...

He will be used as a Champion or Delegatus, just getting started on the details now...

Tactical Support Squad is done ^.^

Word Bearers Legion Tactical Support Squad Cal

Chapter of the Graven Star

Legion Tactical Support Squads were mobile fire-support units that replaced the utilitarian Bolter of their comrades with more specialised weapons, enabling them to cope with particular battlefield threats or enemies. Operating in close order with the Legion's other troops, the Tactical Support Squad's firepower enabled a battlefield strike force of Space Marines to act with even more versatility and engage a wider range of targets on its own terms.

Plasma Weapons, as shown with this unit, were used against the most heavily armoured and monstrous enemies. The Chapter of the Graven Star used a high number of Support Squads alongside their Breachers and Tactical Squads, their weapons especially deadly in so called "Zone Mortalis" battlefields.

So i have managed to squeeze in a little more brush time. The mojority of my hobbyy time was taken up by assembeling a fire raptor which is now ready for painting (this wont be a pledge as im way too slow haha)

So Angron is comming along. Just need to finish the flesh off, add some edge higlights to his axes and paint the wiring coming from his head. Then need to add some weathering pigments to the base and Ultramarine under foot. Any ritique and suggestions on how best to finish this model and improve would be much appreciated (maybe im being too harsh on myself as i am referencing him to studio paint jobs?)

Emperor's Children
IIIrd Legion, 18th Company "The Evocatii"
Exemplar Kayydin Vros

Chosen for his tactical skill and combat prowess, Exemplar Kayddin Vros was the pinnacle of what it meant to be an Astartes of the IIIrd. Often given secondary command of the company, "The Evocatii", Vros was one of the first to make planetfall from the Serendipity. What he found was the XVIth Legion unit they were supposed to reinforce had already cleared their sector, the battle was already over...

gallery_81212_9961_729296.jpg

As befits an officer of his station, Exemplar Vros dons an impressive suit of masterfully wrought Mk IV, decorated with battle honours and the Sigil of the Palatine upon both shoulders. He wields a mastercrafted poweraxe, Respite, gifted to him by an unknown high ranking member of the Xth Legion during their service together.

A true warrior, Kayddin would fall alongside his brothers of the IIIrd and XVIth Legion on Istvaan III...
