I've been having a blast playing with the new transfers, and it is very satisfying to decal and varnish these models and say "I am finally done with these."

 

Next I'll be working on the interior of the Stormbird, and will continue applying decals in between drying periods to change things up a bit.

 

I'd love to hear what you guys think!

Thanks man, I'm not sure if I like him as much as his power armored version, But did enjoy modeling him. He's Not a volta, I just sort of have a think for blinded warriors, I watched to many samurai movies growing up! I still haven't been able to pin down what cult he is in. For now, I'm imagining he is a member of one of the lesser salons, and has a balance of powers, none of which he is a master of, but which suit his teqnique.

 

Agreed, the runes are the perfect shade there.

The Anubis head does remind me a bit of Frank the Bunny from this angle though...

Looks amazing brother. I agree with your commentary regarding the gold transfers, it suits the relatively modest and refined vibe I get from the legion. Your stuff is an inspiration as always.

Volta among the 1kSons?

He has some predator vibe to him. But as I love the colorscheme. The exeptional pain ting, i liked the old version more. But I am not the biggest fam of terminator armor.^^

 

I've never been a huge terminator guys, but with Burning of Prospero on the horizon I knew i was going to add a squad or Terminators and I wanted to be able to run Osiris with them. This is mostly just so I can run him with different equipment in different lists.

Lovely work on that Landy chap. Even though I prefer the Matt Red, can't deny that your work is brilliant! Keep it up!

 

And I know what you mean regarding the white transfers, they're really gaudy which is why I always weather them down to tone down the starkness. Wish they had included some red transfers too on that sheet though...

First batch of tacticals, decaled and varnished!

 

I'm particularly happy to show up the new vexillas I got to replace the plastic ones from Betralay at Calth. In conjunction with the decals on them, I think they have a suitably XV legion theme, without be gaudy or over the top.

You are Single Handedly Selling me on Thousand Sons. FW Needs you for their Pictures. You should submit something to White Dwarf.

Same here. I loved A Thousand Sons. It got me interested in them but since you'd started to do an army of them, I'm in team Prospero (which is kind of difficult as I love both TS and SW^^). Now, with all the rumors about a possible codex, terminators and the current Magnus model, I jumped on the hype train of ash and dust!

 

Please never stop with Osiris' boys. ;)

 

Further, I'm thinking about my previously mentioned warband. In 30K they could be a reconnaissance company, scouting and infiltrating enemy lines and the like. Not like the RG but rather like the Lin Kuei (if you're familiar with them), using their psychic abilities to distract the enemy while Osiris gets his men into position. :)

 

Even trying to create a cryomancer character like Sub Zero. ;)

Dude, your work is amazing. Please keep it up. I would say looking at all the positive comments from everyone from the previous pages here should tell you exactly you need to know. Looking forward to seeing that flying fortress in red. Soooo much better then the yellow.

The shelf is an nail polish rack. Found it on Amazon for $30. As for the tipping factor, the base and rod are steel, and combined they weigh more than the Stormbird. She is not going anywhere. Edited by Athrawes
