Hi All,

 

Been repainting everything for a little while now so I thought that I would share some images. Frugal use of Forgeworld RG upgrade bits and lots of Resin bases.

 

I am doing the entire 2nd Company and have started with a small force led by Chaplain Torovac. I will post more as I go and the entire list within the posts of this thread.

Chaplain Torovac - Built from the new BA chaplain and then bits from the RG upgrade kit and Captain Korvydae's jump pack

Shadow Strike Kill Team - Vanguard Veteran Squad Fury with 3rd Scout Squad broken into 2 Demi Squads.

 

Vanguards have the older style upgrade bits and the icon lightning claw pattern load out.

The scouts have the Dark Eldar Scourge Heads with Anvil industry bits everywhere else

Those look sweet brother! I have just the Chaplain w/ Jump Pack from off the GW site. Korvydae's jump pack is a great custom touch.

 

I am still experimenting with greens for 4th Co, any suggestions?

Thanks Brother, the BA chaplain has surprisingly little BA iconography that is not easily swapped. The blood drop on the forehead was easily filed down as well.

 

In terms of the green for fourth company, I like the RG to be quite dark so I would be tempted to go for one of the darker base colours like call an green from the GW base range.

Yeah, I tried Caliban, but it hardly stands out like the gold. I have Warpstone Glow, which I like for the coils for plasma weaponry.

 

I am more a tabletop gamer than a modeller. My marines have black armor, red lenses, white aquilas, and metallic accents, although I leave the armor joints black just because.

 

Also, what color(s) did you use for the fatigues on the Scouts?

Ok, if you like it to stand out more then you will need to go lighter as you suggest. Do you wash it black as well afterwards?

 

For the fatigues, I actually used the really old GW colour scab red. You could get this now with a dash of brown in Mephiston red I guess, or possibly 2 heavy layers of brown wash over the straight colour.

Hi All,

 

Reinforcements to Battle Group Raven's Talon; this is the Raptor Wing known as the 'Shadow Talons'

 

To strike unseen and unobserved before moving on to their next prey is this formation's way of war.  A worthy addition to Captain Aajz Solari's 'Shadowborne' 2nd Company.

Sweet! Still haven't finished my own Raptorwing yet. Yours is awesome! The only thing I would do differently is the bare-headed pilot in the speeder. Shadow Captain Aethon Shaan makes us all wear our helmets in 4th Co.

 

Nice job on the Corvid Rising on the shoulder pads. Is that free hand or a transfer.

That looks free-hand on a few models, but mostly FW, I'm guessing.

Thanks guys, the squad symbols and markings are free hand but the Raven symbols are usually forge world (either shoulder pads or brass etch). Still got much more to work on but getting nearer to the 1850 painted all of the time.

When I first saw the BA Chaplain I thought it might convert really well to Raven Guard, before going off the idea. You've really pulled it off and I think I might have had my mind changed. Nice work.

Thanks very much and looking forward to seeing it.  When I tried it, I was surprised by how few blood drop symbols there were.  If memory serves I only had file of 2 and they were both very easy (I am not a great hobby-ist).  The specific RG shoulder pad and korvydae's jump pack made all of the difference.

Like a gluttern for punishment, I bought them all from forgeworld. About half of them have the torso too!

 

The head seems to fit really well doesn't it; I haven't seen many uses of it other than on the actual model and people usually swap it out.

Very slick, crisp army painted to tabletop standard. I love the 2nd Co yellow too. I aspire to have my RG look like these! Very cool and flavourful conversion with the whip re: Corax's wargear. Glad to see a nice headswap on that Librarian too, I hate the bearded face.
