Part of the problem is that your color scheme, while it looks really cool, is very limited and doesn't seem to play the best with additional colors. Like I said, I'm sure whatever you end up going with will come out well, it's just really hard for me to picture what it will look like before the fact. I built the frame but need to fill in some gaps. This one will be less grey, more crimson with some use of brass etch. I'm getting HYPE!!!!! Also my Herald is done. I keep it simple/I hate doing bases, the lighting/picture makes it look undone. Need to redo the pictures. By the power of Dorn they will happen tonight... Sorry I thought you were asking about the packs not the bodies, my bad. The Dark Fury's were screaming out for rad weaponry!!! One might say I heeded the call. The pistol is going in line with fluff I came up with Psycho which is long overdue. That will be posted with clean pics. So the Herald is being redone. Not that I don't love my current one. But... you were right and the more I pondered the more I knew he needed to be redone. I have a few pieces on order but will post what I have tonight. Arkhan my friend, you have seriously inspired me to model better. As such I would love to honor you with naming him. His code name will still be Savage, but his name name. I will recraft fluff so it will meet the standard it deserves. He will be striding to war though As a of now I'm sticking him in my Legion Caliver support squad with my siege breaker until I have a more befitting unit for him. An anchor of the field. He's a mean ole' basted that one. The type I only let off his leash when we're breaking a world. To understand the man you need to know of his lament. It was during the Betrayal of Arkadi III that the man became the monster he is now. We came to the aid of those we thought were allies. The bloody XIIth. Boy were we wrong. With forces deployed I sent Jaeger and a group of Templar Brethren, then he was the secondary sergeant, along with the World Eaters spearhead. I figured let the knights bloody there blades and have something to tell stories about in the training cages. It was during the initial assault that we realized things were not as they seemed. The units sent with the spearhead suddenly went quiet and there were reports of friendly fire coming in from all fronts. Suddenly we were in a fight for our lives. The butchers vs the devils, luckily we were the meaner of the two that day. I broke away from the force with the squad to find the templar brethren. We had lost contact from them early on and were not able to link up. What I walked into could only be described as a charnal house... Bodies, blood, shell casing and burnt body parts everywhere. For the first time in my life since becoming an astartes I heard weeping. After sweeping through room after room I stumbled upon a templar holding the champion in his arms. Ascarich looked like the mortals when they've seen the carnage we cause up close, pure dread. All there is in his arms is the champions pistol and his body. He claimed that he had failed his unit saying that he needed to redeem himself. I practically had to club him over the head to get him to let go of the body. As the only survivng member of the unit I gave him the option of reinforcing the brethren or joining another squad. Surprisingly enough he chose neither. He wanted to roam the battlefields alone. Killing and reaping a toll on the oath breakers. At first I assumed he would outlive his purpose and find some peace, but no... The King of Ashes always seemed to survive one engagement after the next. Jump Pack blaring and his champions pistol barking. Soon he went to the armory with my blessing and gathered the unsanctioned weapons, phosphex and rad grenades. I sanctioned him because he was so effective. Eventually depleted squads or the censured went to join him. Needless to say he leads the Destroyer Cadres within the Red Devils. A broken man leading a blood thirsty and disgraced rabble. All I can say is I pity the fool who has to see that scorched bastard as his last sight in this life... +++++++ Psycho hopefully I did Ascarich Jaeger justice even though he is a moritat no more. At least his arms are. replacing his choom charger with combi choom. and his mini machete with a mace. Also a big fan of the herald, that banner/trophy/casket on a stick is one of the best bits to come out of AoS in my opinion, and you've made great use of it. Thank you for the comment about posing. You're going to laugh but a lot of the time I "try" the pose and then see if it feels natural. I don't like it when the poses are wonky. I totally realize it's not your cup of tea. Normally it's entirely too much but I saw it and just knew it needed to happen. Plus he looks more like an actual herald now... Plus I freaking hate fabric banners. I dunno why but they just irk me... I was thinking combi-choom that way I still can get the benefit of the +1 bs to the bolter. I realize it's the sculpt, and a longer handle is great for extra leverage on your swing, it just doesn't sit too well with me, the way he's grasping it.Otherwise outstanding, the Destroyers (and their sergeant!) are great.
