Forty Thousand Challenge

Lich King

Recommended Posts

There is a Challange me and a few friends have started where we pick a playable Army in Warhammer 40k and we create a faction for it, coming up with some fluff and an army list for the faction. I thought it might be a good idea to bring it here so that others can have a go at it along side us or even just try it out for fun. For the faction it can be a new chapter for Space Marines or a new Imperial Guard force and so on. The army list has to make sense through the fluff and the fluff has to make sense in the Warhammer 40k universe so you don't end up with Grey Knights fighting by the side of Daemons. You can use anything from Games Workshop or Forgeworld, but only those two, you can use anything Adepta Sororitas, Adeptus Astartes, Adeptus Mechanicus, Astra Militarum, Imperial Knights, Inquisition, Militarum Tempestus, Offico Assassinorum, Adeptus Titanicus, Chaos Daemons, and Chaos Space Marines, just as long as it abides by the rules. This isn't a modelling or painting challenge, it is just about army design and faction lore and creation.

Rules

 - The faction, fluff wise, has to make sense in terms of the Warhammer 40k Universe.

 - The army list has to follow the fluff in terms of what they use and such.

 - You much come up with a leader for the faction and talk, even a little, about them.

 - The fluff and the army list has to be from scratch, you can't use one you already made.

Army List

For the army list your points must be anywhere between 40,000 and 41,999 points. The army must include some HQ units, it doesn't have to be many but you can generally have as many as you want. You can only use units from ForgeWorld and Games Workshop and they can only be from the following Armies:

  • Adepta Sororitas
  • Adeptus Astartes
  • Adeptus Mechanicus
  • Astra Militarum
  • Imperial Knights
  • Inquisition
  • Militarum Tempestus
  • Officio Assassinorum
  • Adeptus Titanicus
  • Chaos Daemons
  • Chaos Space Marines

- - This is currently only a test one so take as long as you need, just enjoy it. If it works out well, I'll post another and turn it into a proper challenge. - -
