Both look to be good combinations, and guess it really depends on what's to be expected - will there be much in the way of other LoW choices?

I did note that both lists seem to be lacking in anti-tank to an extent - the dread's help in the first list, as do the vindi's (gotta love S10 blasts!) and of the two, I'd probably lean more towards the first list, based on the following assupmtions:

1. From the layout, the squads look to be only 9 man strong - is that just a formatting issue (no book to hand to check points)

2. Is the Libby joining the support squad and the praetor in with the termies? Remember that Cataphractii armour prevents overwatch fire, so you may want to look at standard type.

3. Minimum of half units must be tanks. I count 14 units (incl characters separately) with only 6 tanks in list 1. In list 2 it is 11 units with 5 tanks so you may have a question there.

4. Why not a terranic greatsword or calibanite blade for the praetor? I think the terranic could be a better choice as same strength, but gains instant death. The 2 handed thing isn't an issue as he's in termie armour anyway.

To 'improve' I would go for more boots on the ground, as a single round from a Fellblade or Typhon could wipe out a quarter of the force in one shot - those aren't the types of casualties that can be afforded, especially in such a high points army. The terminator squad (and spartan) are accounting for a quarter of the army in one slot, and with D weapons on the table (from the game size) you could be in for some real hurt.

If you could, maybe consider using some veteran or seekers or more tactical/support squads in rhino's to present multiple targets (which mitigates the LA:DA enemy units bonus VP's issue) and means that you can either strike in more than one place or be more fluid in actions.

I do hope that helps hone the force and I look forward to seeing more of it :)

And really hoping that book 6 goes up for release this week :D

Hi Cloud Thanks for the reply,

1. Yes that's just formatting issue from battle scribe

2. Yes both Joining them squads going for Catti as that is what i have Models wise.

3. You raise a good point here i totally forgot that HQ counts as a unit even though they are joining squads.

4. I didn't go for them swords on him as they are only AP3 and i can see this being massive problem in a challenge over a paragon blade AP2 at In*

Thanks for the feedback i don't know about the local format as i have never attended or played vs the people at this event before i would probably go for list 1 over list 2 as well due to taking a LOW to a game less then 3k might not win me many friends hah.

I will tweek the list to perhaps drop some points and try and fit in some more "Tank Type" maybe fit in another Vindicator for a Squadron of 3 or drop 1 mortis shave a few upgrade points to fit in 2 Dakka Pred's

Actually, I count list 1 as 13 units with 5 units being tank-type vehicles and list 2 as 11 units with 4 tanks. This will come down to the exact wording of the Rite, but a squadron is only 1 unit. And a Super-Heavy Vehicle doesn't have the Tank rule in it's unit description, either. It's actually a very restrictive RoW assuming that's the case, because outside of dedicated transports, you're going to be limited by the maximum of 3 tank units coming from Heavy Support and 1 possible from HQ.

Hopefully I'm reading that wrong though, and you get credit for each tank in the squadron and SH non-flying, non-walkers count.

The legion Glaive in book 2 does have the tank type wording in the Description just checked

Your right with that wording, you are restricted to only 3 non "tank" slots assuming u fill the heavy slots full. In majority of cases are going to be used up by IC's this is so much more restrictive then I originally thought.

Though this does seem to be a direct work against the Interlocking Fire perk in the rite of war i think maybe an email to FW to try and clarify what classes as a single unit for this.
