Sabadin's Backlog Bonanza! Feb 11

As time permits. This will be the home for my VIII legion and 40k era Blood Angels works. Will hopefully be the motivation I need to finish some projects that I've been working on for the better part of 10 years. Hence, the procrastination. Thanks to Loyalty and Treachery, and the ETL later in the year, I'm expecting my Night Lords to be the focus for the current time. Will try to throw in some boys in red to mix it up though.

Here's my current wip terror squad test scheme. Still need the metals and terror markings. Mainly was experimenting with the blue and the lightning.

Here's an early scheme I first started on with my Raptors

The new blue is a bit more involved, but I'm liking the look better. Any feedback would be great though.

And here's my current heresy family so far

That backlog should keep me going for a while. And i won't even get into the filthy xenos backlog.

More to come as time permits.

Got some time to sit down and so some more painting. Almost half way there on the terror squad now

Starting to get more confident and comfortable with this whole blending thing. Still has quite a bit of room to improve, but feels like it's on the right track.

Once again any C&C is welcome

They are really starting to come together, they just need some actual terror markings now :)

I'll be batch painting those and the bolters at the end (no volkites yet unfortunately)

Have the fifth member done now and some solid progress on the sixth.

Once again feeling more comfortable with my blending, I think I need to start focusing more on improving the contrast and light theory.

Just thought I'd throw in my thoughts.

I feel like they could do with some lightning, but I know they can be rather tricky, maybe something else, but they do need something that really says Night Lords because right now they look like Ultra's. Maybe some red?

EDIT: Oh, and one last thing, I'm stealing that knife on the arm thing.

Oh there will be lightning. But I want to batch job that. Can't have Night Lords without lightning and blood stains.

The bad news, the terror squad is currently on hold while I work on a project for a comp my local GW is running for the 30th anniversary day. The good news, I get to show the blood part of "Blood and Shadows"

Aiming for gloss black, TMM gold and NMM red when I get to the jump pack.

The black and red are basically finished, the gold is only base coated outside of the right elbow.

Hey there, I really like your minis so far, though I must agree with Pallas that theylook quite like Ultramarines yet.

Can you tell how you attached that combat knife to the guys forearm? Looks quite cool, brother! :happy.:

Looks sharp. I really really like that model. Just not $30 worth of like. You did a nice job.

I know what you mean, the better half simply told me "pick something you'll have fun painting and don't worry about the price" otherwise I'd not pick it up for that price either.

Very good. Wish I had your skills

Patience and practice, nothing more. I'll try to dig out some of my first minis for motivation on what a little practice can do.

No luck on old minis yet, but update on Kurze. Left leg completed, ready to move on to the right leg.

Words of honesty as well to anyone reading this saying "I'll never be able to paint that well ", that thought is the biggest obstacle to this level of painting. If you asked me 2 years ago if I could paint like this, I'd have laughed and said not a chance. Push yourself and have confidence and amazing things will happen.

No progress for a while due to some personal stuff, did manage to snap some old models to motivate though. These guys used to be my top models, amazing what a difference practice makes.

Improving takes time, but I'm living proof if you just keep plugging away at it, you'll get there.
