Picked this up when it was free.

 

Was really enjoying it until i got to the Carnifex - i just cant kill that damn thing! :(

It's actually pretty easy if you've got the right gear.  You need to move one guy forward enough to 'trigger' it's arrival but keep everyone else the hell back with firing lanes as clear as possible.

Stun the bugger with the appropriate grenades then just unleash absolutely everything you have into him. Depending on difficulty level you can wipe him out in a turn.

Alternatively, if you have the purity seal that conveys invincibility for a turn, march a close combat marine right up into his face (again, taking care not obscure any firing lines) then that'll buy you an extra turn to fill him full of whatever you've got at your disposal.

The best thing is if you get the L3 Ultra Devastator who has an ability to guarantee 100% accuracy for a turn. Give him a plasma cannon, use the overcharge shot and boom, dead 'fex.

In order to get the right gear/requisite accuracy/crit/abilities on your marines you might need to grind a bit on the earlier levels just because gear and marine acquisition from the cards system is a bit all over the place and you can't necessarily guarantee getting anything useful.

Don't get distracted by any small bugs until the big bugger is gone, it's a waste of action points you may need. He gets easier as you progress. I've one shotted him on the medium difficulty with a L3 powerfist Blood Angel who had a couple of melee bonuses and a crux that gives +50% crit against big bugs.
