Here is how I done it and it worked really well.

First I sprayed the bases with Corax White:

Next I did a base coat of Warplock Bronze and a wash of Nuln Oil:

Then I dried brushed on Brass Scorpion:

Then a wash Agrax Earthshade while also doing some of the details I wanted to stand out:

Did more detail with the bolts and some of the bases, I also tried out Nihlakh Oxide on one of them but I wasn't a fan:

Painted the rim black:

So here it is, first I had to remove the Templars from their old bases, had so clean up their feet using my clippers.

Very nice,

great tabletop army(prob a bit more than what others would consider table top msn-wink.gif )

I really love the templars and the few added shaved heads is awesomesaucewub.png

and although I"m not a fan of Crazy OTT weathering i still wholeheartedly approve of this lot thumbsup.gif ,

i have to be honest and say when i do some templars I"m soooo going to borrow ph34r.png your scheme there !

the bases are simple yet very effective, what can i say ...your full of something and it's called WIN! tongue.png

look fwd to more and thanks for giving me a wee bit o inspiration to keep on with my 30k fists!

cheers Mithril

Myself and members of my Chapter (Vigilia Mortis) held our first official meet up at Warhammer World today, we marked the celebration with purging each other. I was up all night finishing my army, here is the last squad I finished, Veteran Tactical Squad:

Got a new piece of purging kit :)

So I started with basing everything with Corax White.

Then added the base colours to the model, Yriel Yellow and Ledbelcher for the metal etc:

Glue it all together and added some transfers:

Then I added the washes, Agrax Earthshade for the yellow and cracks and Nuln Oil for all the metal joints etc.

Finally I did the battle damage with my trusted sponge, took some better photos under an LED light.

Still a few things to do, probably some more battle damage, paint the Volks at the front and touch up a few areas but I'm pleased how it came out :)

Mhm, that is a lovely yellow and I like the battledamage sponge idea. How many coats of Yriel yellow did it take, and did you paint it on or is it a spray?

One coat :)

Awesome looking Fists!

You've really got the balance of weathering right.

The bases are understated and don't draw away

from the models.

Well done all round.

Thank you :)

Here is the finished body now:

Great stuff,

Good weathering that is not too OTT thumbsup.gif Glad your painting something new (We always like to see new stuff wub.png )

That big battle with the Templar's must have been a "Training Exercise", how did your guys fare in close quarters combat?...

Look forward to seeing more great work from you!

Cheers, Mithril.

Tank is assembled, need to green stuff the gaps and do some clean up but it's mostly done. Something I noticed, it doesn't sit on the stand level, because of the resin it's very front heavy so I might add some weights under the gun turret to level it out.

Also did a wash on all 15 Custodes, next is to brighten them up a bit and add the details :)
