Chapter 1: To Hell and back

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Legionary Ortan, Veteran Squad Antem, 19th Company “The Felrain”

“Feels like a warm rain, doesn’t it Sergeant?”

-Ortan to Ranulf, while advancing through VIIth Legion Medusa ordnance fire

Ortan, an Olympian, has been serving the 19th Company for 218 standard terran years, distinguishing himself early on with his quick reactivity and talent for battlefield-logistics. The symbol on the black knee-stripe in a yellow field denotes his service as a sergeant within the heavy support corps.
He serves as Veteran-Sergeant Ranulf’s Symvulos, or advisor, when it comes to advancing through enemy ordnance, a role reserved only for the sharpest minds. The peculiar hexagon on his chestplate is one of the many creations of arch-magos Vynurvo. It appears to register nearby tremors, thus calculating the most probable impact points of future shells. From his tabard dangles an iron-encased stick of black chalk, that is used to black out the eyes of dead brethren, a ritual Ortan has taken from his old Polis to the stars.

Legionary Vadra, Veteran Squad Antem, 19th Company “The Felrain”

“There is little honour in the way I fight, son of Chogoris, but there is no honour in dying.”

Vadra to unnamed Vth Legion Veteran, Siege of Terra

Born amongst the panslavian tribes, Vadra was brought up as a child of constant war. Growing up with no father, mother or sibling, he quickly learned to embrace his role as a gear in the Emperor’s great machinery.
His Mk IV warplate has been heavily augmented to accomodate his wounded body. The result of a Vth Legion flamethrower ambush, Vadra’s face has become home to crude, yet effective implants. Speaking is a torture to him, so he mostly remains silent.
His topknot serves as a testament to the fifty years of servitude amongst the Reaver squads of the XVIth legion. According to most pict-captures, Vadra seems to forgo the use of bolters in favour of his chainaxe Gnawer. A notion many company commanders would view as unacceptable, but Ranulf, and by extension Uragan, are willing to overlook this, as peculiarities such as these tend to give birth to very specialized warriors.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://i411.photobucket.com/albums/pp194/hodoalmir/Veteran20Setar_zpsedcqjmnl.jpg

Legionary Setar, Veteran Squad Antem, 19th Company “The Felrain”

“What is your head-tally, son?”

“49…”

“That is pitiful.”

“…in the first one and a half hours."

“…smarmy bastard…”

Exchange between Dax and Setar, Siege of Prathulm II

Setar, son of the Krn’Gora hills in eastern Panslavia, is a curiosum to his legion. He wrote extensive scripts concerning rapid assaults and Zone Mortalis engagements, which in and on itself is nothing unusual among the brooding IVth, but also vast amounts of poetry. Warsmith Uragan himself has confessed to reading his works and anticipates the next volume.
However, being a famed poet is not enough to be elevated into the rank of a veteran, not even amongst the prancing IIIrd and much less the IVth. As the scope atop his modified bolter indicates, Setar used to be part of the small, yet renowned, Seeker cadre of his company. As a Seeker, Setar has shown a preference for close quarter engagement, eschewing the more popular sniper rifles in favour of Astartes-sized shotguns and Phobos pattern bolters. Thus he has proven as a very valuable asset to Squad Antem, as the modus operandi of the 19th Company is the precise advance under own ordnance, arriving up-close to the enemy and ready to blast any survivors to pieces.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://i411.photobucket.com/albums/pp194/hodoalmir/Veteran20Dax_zpsd6cipreu.jpg

Legionary Dax, Veteran Squad Antem, 19th Company “The Felrain”

“Hatred is for the undisciplined. Cold ire is what fuels the IVth, cold like the lightning of Hephaistr's anvil.”

-Dax’ personal musing, recorded on an old-fashioned Dictaphone

Dax was an old, gnarled Olympian, born with an aptitude for ancient technology. His servitude to Perturabo has seen him as a part of support squads, aide to the techmarine covenant with analyzing reclaimed technology and, ultimately, even as a veteran-legionary.
Artificers and techpriests have taken special notice of his modified helmet. It appears to be an improved version of the Mk VII helmet, as worn by Setar, with  upgrades made to the right eyelense. Further dissection of the blueprints reveals, that the ocular does not, as one might believe, serve as a magnifier, like an ordinary scope. Quite the contrary, it serves as an optical overlay that helps with calculating shooting and attack vectors, integrating even a simplified version of the Night Lords' prey vision.

Veteran Sergeant Ranulf, Veteran Squad Antem, 19th Company “The Felrain”

“Never doubt. Who doubts, breaks, and who breaks will be discarded. And now, forward!”

-Ranulf to his squad, 1st day of the Great Siege

Ranulf was many things, a tactician, a brother, a sergeant and a vainglorious bastard, but before all of that, he was a friend to each and every of his men. He offered advice and reassuring words to those, who doubted in doing the right thing. Initially Serving amongst his legion’s despoiler squads, it is perhaps a bit surprising that he was elevated into the rank of a Veteran-Sergeant, as these units were viewed as simple and brutish by the primarch. Warsmith Uragan thought differently, as he knew, that every gear within the great engine of warfare is just as important and thus needs proper representation.
Ranulf bears a simplified transmission device atop of his power-unit, as every veteran-sergeant does amongst the 19th Company. They serve as the main, and often only, link between the ordnance cadre and the advancing veterans, as they need to coordinate each other in perfect synchronisation, lest a veteran wishes to die beneath a friendly shell.

And with this first post I'd like to introduce you all to my very own Heresy Project! Here you will see Iron Warriors, Alpha Legion, Blood Angels and Night Lords in all shapes and sizes (Maybe even some Mechanicum thrown inbetween and definitely a knight or two!). Hope you liked the intro, coloured (and better) pics will be uploaded as soon as I manage to get hold of my girlfriend's camera. If you have any questions, ideas, criticism or project proposals, please do not hesitate to voice your mind.

Have a nice day,

Ranulf is just...yes. There's an arrogance in the way he's posed that suggests that he knows he is above mortals, and even above his fellow Astartes.

It's not every day that a log this beautiful drops out of no where. Stunning models and the color text adds so much character. Really looking forward to some color photos and watching this thing take off.

Where is Ranulf's sword from?

Hey guys, thanks for all the replies!

@Tyrannicide Ranulf's sword is, if I'm not mistaken, from the Vanguard Box. :smile.:

@DimDim As Kurama has already pointed out, the pads are indeed from mastercrafted. Steal away!

So, I've managed to take some (albeit not perfected) coloured pics with my Nokia before going to the university. Hope you like it. More fluff will be added with the final, professional pics. :smile.:

Enjoy!

Veteran Andre, Squad Verena, 6th Company "The Final Verdict"

Andre has been inducted into the ranks of a veteran at the outbreak of the Heresy. He was one of the Astartes to feel his father's psychic shriek echoing from Signus Prime. The 6th Company has been crusading in the northern Halo-region and therefore did not manage to meet with the rest of the Legion. Curiously enough, Andre and many of his brethren have still felt the throes of Sanguinius' pain and have reacted in many different manners. Andre himself has turned from jovial and outgoing to dark and brooding.

He would not live to survive Terra, finding his death in a melta-bombs blazing fury, surrounded by XIIth legion despoilers.

Moritat-Prime Elyr, 6th Company "The Final Verdict"

While many legions show disdain for their destroyer-cadres and moritats, the IXth actually show great respect. The mantel of Moritat cannot be bestowed or laid upon a brother, but must be taken freely. Elyr has been serving as  Moritat for six standard-decades, swearing the Ashen Oath after failing to save his own Veteran squad from the gene-savages of Uklatha IV. Former Moritat-Prime Nadin passed his armaments, and with them the mantle of Prime, to Elyr shortly before succumbing to accelerated cancer.

While Elyr's health has not deteriorated greatly after six decades is remarkable by Moritat standards, which has made him subject to various medical researches of the Apothecarion.

Thanks!^^

@Angrypantz; The body and arms are from Gavriel Loken from the FW set "Abaddon vs Loken". The pistols are from the Mk IV weapon set, the head comes from the Emperor's Children Palatine Blades set and Jumppack and right shoulderpad come from the new plastic Blood Angels Chaplain made by GW :smile.:

Hey guys, just dropping a WiP of a Night Lord before going to bed.

Fluff and rest will be following later.

Andras, Adopted Son

"They treat me with respect, brother. Can you say the same for your Legion?"
-Andras to Sergeant Ord of the 12th

Andras, once of the World Eaters Legion, was one of the many, many adopted sons of the VIIIth Legion, a practice very well known amongst the warbands of the Eye. It is noteworthy that the Night Lords accepted cousin-Astartes into their fold even before the Siege of Terra, provided they forsok each and every oath to their father-primarch and swore fealty to Curze and his blood. One of the various companies under the name of The Crimson Sons, led by Captain Sariel, boasted a whole total of thirteen such adopted sons.
Andras served as a member of 3rd Claw, under the leadership of Huntsmaster Kaol, and was noted for being a good humoured and generally trustworthy ally. Captain Sariel did enforce tight disciplin and encouraged bonding between his soldiers, as he regarded the paranoia of his Nocturne-born brethren with utter disgust and contempt. Andras understood that and he complied willingly, as he too missed the tight links of brotherhood from ages past.

Hey everyone,

I have been stripping a few figures I got off ebay for cheap. I'll be converting my Warsmith Uragan out of a Nathaniel Garro figure, so excpect a WIP of that soon ;)

I've also got my claws on two Narik Dreygur figures, one is already built as a Blood Angels praetor, the other one I am not quite sure...

Anyone got any ideas? I've been thinking about an iron Warriors Veteran, Alpha Legion Thingamajig or Black Legion Chaos Champion.

IX: The Final Verdict

The sky was crying ember tears. Black, thick clouds choked the noxious orange light of Sol. The Siege has been going on for six days. Six days of bloodshed. Six days of fratricide.
Sergeant Ord and his squad were prowling through the iradiated ruins of a smaller hive-city surrounding the Imperial Palace. The Nails were ticking, like a buzzing swarm of mad flies and his powersword was caked in blood, its powercell depleted. The Militia forces he had slaughtered had not managed to sate his hunger, which made the voices in his head even angrier.
Ord and his squad had almost no contact with enemy-Astartes since the beginning of the Siege. The World Eater had only clashed with a White Scar, blood-soaked cerulean crashing against white marble. His head was hanging from Ord's belt, taking in the decrepit structures around him with its dead eyes.
"Silence." Ord growled. His squad was prone to bickering, which could turn very bloody if not held in check.
The other World Eaters ony let wet growls and smacking of lips escape their helmets. A bunch of animals, Ord thought, no control whatsoever.
Except for Numi. Numi did not growl. Numi was screaming and Ord smelled the scent of smoldering ceramite and burnt flesh. His sensory systems were picking up energy signatures resembling those of volkite weaponry.
The remaining World Eaters spun around to face the charred remains of their brother. This time, they could see the bright green twin lightning that hit Numi. This time, it struck Maruk and Lopin simultaniously, bursting their heads like overripe fruits.
A Moritat, thought Ord, too fast for a support squad.
The World Eater was right. With a jump-pack's scream did the Astartes descend, clad in red and golden armour, bearing white wings and armed with two pistols. A Blood Angel.
Ord's last remaining brother, Orol, charged at the Angel with a feral howl on his lips. The Moritat did not move, not even an inch, until the World Eater had come in arm's reach. Within the blink of an eye did he blast Oroi's head off.
Ord's Nails were screaming, but his muscles were locked in place. While it was true, that Astartes never felt fear, they were still human at their core and as such, they were capable of recognising a superior predator.
The Moritat was slowly walking towards him, as if his presence was a divine revelation.
"I am Elyr, Moritat-Prime of the 6th Company." He spoke with a calm voice. "And this is your Final Verdict."
The Blood Angel raised one arm and Ord went blind.

So hello again. I thought I'd post a nicer picture of my Moritat-Prime with a bit more fluff^^ Thanks Dosjetka for the nice words! :smile.:

I've also started work on my Warsmith, Uragan. Take a look.

The Bits list:
-Torso, Legs and Arms are from Nathaniel Garro: the eagles have been cut away, chest bulked up a bit. The vent on the chest is one of the backpack vents greenstuffed on.
-One Shoulderpad is a regular Mk III pad with a shoulder-shield added (Sourced from the B@C cataphractii). The other one is a spiky pad from mastercrafted minis.
-The Head is from Sevatar (Got the rest of him in my brake-fluid jar  )
-The axe is part vanguard hammer and gorechild. The fist is from archmagos Draykavac.

What do you think? Any ideas? Any comments? :smile.:
