Welcome to – Daemon Forge -
Again, due to Insane Psychopath being busy, with his permission I am starting Daemon Forge XIII. A most auspicious number indeed!

- Daemon Forge - is aimed as a hobby challenge. Each month will see a set theme for Chaos. This will range from a set unit type, single models, objective markers & themes. The aim is pretty simple: it's all about seeing cool models for Chaos.

This month’s theme is `Obliterators`.

To take part you can either...

- Use the time to get those models painted. Or if you want to test out an idea or you've have a suitable unit converted up and want to get them painted...now is the time.

- If you already have a unit you've painted, just post them up. It always cool to see really great models.
The main thing is that the models are painted.

Personally I do not have any Obliterators and I am still unsure how I want them to look (that I want some however is certain). Do I use the official models...convert some Chaos TDA, convert Centurions...or I’ve seen some excellent counts-as in which there were a pair of marines on a single base, each toting his own arsenal. Thus I hope to steal your ideas. biggrin.png

Starting date: April 9th
Finish date: May 13th

And Obliterators are the theme of the current Inspirational Friday so after showing us your models here, go and write us a short story about them over in IF smile.png

For one of my earliest conversions, these Tzeentchian Obliterators are still some of my favourite models. The idea being that instead of being machine cultists, converting their bodies, they use spells and incantations to summon warp flames, hurl hails of bone, warp and mutate targets or hurl powerful lightning bolts to crack vehicles.

I wanted mine to be more 'Chaos Tech-Marines' and less 'Obliterator Virus Marine', so I based mine on CSM Termies, with big 'Warp Cannons' instead.

*edit*

With hindsight I noticed that it might not be apparent that there was quite a bit of work put into bulking them up to Oblit size while still keeping them looking like Termies, so here is a side-by-side pic. :)

I had a similar idea to totgeboren. I wanted to use some oblits in my Thousand Sons army, but I'm really not a fan of the GW ones. I do, however, really like the techmarine aesthetic, so I used them instead. My rubric techmarine obliterators...
