It is spmewhere in the warp/attic/my brothers house so I cant photoproof it. But a nice idea. Ive been personalising my etl vow termis and it looks nicer. Visually more attractive then just black. This guy will be the sergeant for a white armoured Primaris Vet squad that I’m doing. Also the first time using Contrast paints, which wasn’t as easy as I was expecting. It needs to be applied in a very specific way and each colour behaves differently. The great thing is that scrolls and purity seals a now ridiculously easy. Blood Angels red for the seal and bone/ skeleton one for the parchment. I thought about making my special/heavy weapons guys white to match his painting, but I found it too hard to pull off. This model is done really well! Nice work! Could be a special thing like he have to repent something and that doesnt allows him to wear the color of the emperor. A technique that I think is great but comes with a little bit of extra effort because it involves white mineral spirits and oil paint. Lots of YouTube videos on oil washes, it’s a technique that realistic scale modellers use a lot.  Yep. Weathering on the lower legs is weathering powder with a Matt varnish over everything to hold it in place. The dust weathering actually looks really good on white armour but my phone camera doesn’t quite capture it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Well technically the oldest member as he has been Crusading for a very, very long time! This was an early Christmas present to myself, I designed the livery and paint scheme and the painting was completed by an excellent commission painter I use occasionally. It also won gold in a local European painting competition. I do have the other weapon but for display purposes I use the damaged one. Crikey  What's your secret behind the rust effects? I wish I painted this but I commissioned it. This is the work of a professional painter, not my own, so don’t feel so bad! Not many people have this skill set.  Rust effects he uses are a combination of oil paints, weathering powders and specialist products from AK Interactive.
