Dantay VI
Part 2: Adding pictures in posts Okay, so we have managed in Part 1 to create a B&C gallery and to upload pictures into it. This is all well and good, but why put them into our gallery if we are not going to show them off? This part is very simple to do & and it is exactly the same whether posting in a topic or in a Private message on B&C. For this example I will post a picture into a topic. So I have gone into the topic and clicked on Reply to this topic. You can just as easily click in the box at the bottom if you want to reply also. To add an image from your B&C gallery, click on My media Left click on gallery images This will then bring up all your images, from across all your galleries starting with the most recent image uploaded. Asa you can see I have quite a few J Click on the image or images which you want to go into the post or PM. I have highlighted these in red. If you look in the background at your message a code will appear for each image (circled in blue) and a message will be displayed to show that your picture has been copied across Click finish when you are done (circled in green), You will now be back to your main screen and you can finish doing whatever you want to do. Cliclk on Add reply And that is it, your post is now sent complete with your pictures Atia, Wakkomaster, Arminius_Warbringer and 1 other 4 Back to top

BrotherJim
Hey man. My pictures are always too large to upload to the B&C. I’m using and IOS. It’s a shame but my photos will never upload here. I am using imgur but I’m uncertain about linking pictures, is there a tutorial somewhere for that? https://i.imgur.com/zMC2S5g.png When using my iPhone I can past links like that but I’m not sure how to get the picture to show up Edit - I’m dumb Edited May 10, 2019 by BrotherJim
Brother Tyler
There's also a B&C 101 post about hosting and posting images at the B&C here. It's from 2008, so there are some discrepancies with the current software, but the basic gist is covered well enough. For BrotherJim, if you already have your pictures uploaded to the internet somewhere that allows hotlinking, all you need to do is put the image URL inside the image BBCode (link takes you to the BBCode Guide, which is in the B&C 101). [img=https://i.imgur.com/zMC2S5g.png] I right clicked on the image and copied the address to my notebook, pasting it in the post window.

Brother Tyler
Any help with reducing the size of a picture without loosing quality?^^ Also: Yay Dantay *huuuugs* Beyond the basic steps of cropping out wasted space and whatever your image editing software allows? Using your B&C gallery, there are four size options. "Large" is the full-sized image as uploaded to the gallery. The image can then be shrunk to medium, small, and thumbnail sizes. When looking at an image in your B&C gallery, simply click on the Options button at the top right, then "View all sizes" in the drop down menu that appears. That will take you to the options. For example, the image that I usually use as my avatar: Normal (i.e., the basic full-sized image as it appears in my gallery): Large: Medium: Small: Thumbnail:
Atia
Yeah, I used this in the past but had some quite weird downsizing effects with that (looked a bit pixelated on some parts?) :<
Chaplain Raeven
I just open my photo's in paint, downsize to 20% and resave the photo before uploading to B&C. Never had any noticable loss of quality.
