I'm entering the world of 30k because of a variety of reasons - I love Noise Marines (I play Chaos in 40k), I love the fluff about the IIIrd Legion's fall, I think Fulgrim is pretty dope, and I just really enjoy putting purple on the table. Miniatures aren't done until they're based!! And for now, a sneak peak on incoming things. I've taken a few cues from kizzdougs in his EC thread as far as green stuff laurels and numerals on the shoulder pads - it's super low effort and I dig it. I'm not good enough to make those palatins on the chest though. I'm a new airbrusher, I had some intense success with a Soul Grinder last week to learn the basics. I will probably redo the blending on this Rhino because I'm not terribly thrilled with it atm. I plan on going with a really weathered look. Looks very...violety? This is a big inner struggle for me. The standard EC purple is much darker than the lightest color basecoat I'm used to painting on my Slaanesh Chaos stuff. I really like how the lighter purple pops and weathering will show up much better than on the standard purple. OTOH, gold shows up much better against the standard EC purple, and I am pretty dedicated to the fluff so I will probably fix it... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Third are such a great legion, so much fun to be had, wether you go loyalist or traitor.... I like the purple and black on the Kakophoni, a good look. Good use of the legion champ for the medicae, I like it a lot, it may well need to be stolen.... The rhino is looking good too - airbrushing is a lot of fun, so stick with it. On the other hand, Palatine Blades are so damn pretty by themselves that I barely need to do anything to them. Oh wait, I took the pictures and forgot to do the rivets on their backpacks. Pretend those are done. Tried to really stick to the fluff for these guys - the Palatine Blades are decorated warriors one and all - but paint different parts of their armor platinum for going above and beyond and I tried to show that seniority throughout the squad.
