Knight Errant deep strike

So the Knight Errant's have brought up a lot of questions for me.  This seems like a logical order to ask them in:

1.  As they can deepstrike can they be joined to another deepstriking unit like assault marines?

2.  If they can does the whole unit benefit from not scattering on deep strike from the Knight Errant?

3.  This one is a bit complicated.  So BA assault marines with their RoW have to deepstrike on the first turn, so if a Knight Errant joins then dows he deepstrike on the first turn too (even without a jump pack), or does he need to have a jump pack to gain this rule?

I'm not sure where you get that they can deep strike. HH4 says nothing about that, unless I missed it.

1. Nope. the Knight Errant does not have the IC rule so he cannot join other units.

2. N/A

3. Again N/A

They can deepstrike, they have the rule 'By Falsehood Cloaked', which lets them deepstrike without scatter.

Garro definitely has independent character, but I'm not sure if the rule affects units he joins.

Ah, the other Knights Errant. I was talking about the (mini) titans. OK new answers:

1. Yes, of course, just like and other IC

2. No, the KE counts as part of the unit he joins, not the other way around. Special rules are not transfered to the unit he joins and by falsehood cloaked only affects the knight errant.

3. The KE does not need a jump pack to benefit from this rule.

1. Yes, as Quixus says.

2. No, as Quixus says.

3. Actually, "Day of Revelations" specifically calls out Jump Infantry having to Deep Strike on Turn 1. Only the build-a-bear Knight-Errant can gain this benefit - and only if he has a jump pack.

I disagree. An IC can join a Jump Infantry unit whether he is jump infantry or not. Since he also has deep strike he can join the unit before deployment. Now he is part of the unit for all rules purposes. Since Cometh the Host affects the unit (this includes the IC) it can deploy by deep strike on turn one.

IMHO it would still be a bad idea to do it with a non-JP KE, because then the unit is either slowed by him or the KE has to leave it.

I agree it isnt a good plan if he cant make the unit not scatter (which seems to be the answer to question 2).

Though (and only for the sake of debate) when you deep strike a unit you place one model from the unit down, so that could be the KE.  Then you scatter, but based on his personal rules he doesnt, so stays put.  Then you place the rest of the unit.

Is this me trying to read the stages of the rules as I want them to be?

I mean I totally agree he doesnt give the unit the other falsehood rules (snapfire) and that seems a fair compromise for stopping the unit from scattering.
