Kierdale
These images I was given by a member of GW staff (they've been doing the rounds), who used them to make his own Thunderhawk. All you need is a couple of storm ravens and a vindicator. The images are not the clearest, but if downloaded they're readable. Good luck!
Soldier of Dorn
Impressive! Might have to Must make sure to try this out some time! Thanks for posting, Kierdale!
Quixus
Looks interesting. Is it less expensive than a proper Thunderhawk?
Bjorn Firewalker
I found clearer images in a *.pdf download, at http://www.scarboroughgames.com/files/SCRATCH%20BUILT%20THUNDERHAWK%20GUNSHIP.pdf
Kierdale
Looks interesting. Is it less expensive than a proper Thunderhawk?Forgeworld Thunderhawk = 425 pounds Vindicator = 35 pounds 2 Storm ravens = 100 pounds Kitbashed T'hawk...290 pounds cheaper! :tu: Bjorn, that one seems a little different, but combining the two would probably be good ;)

Charlo
How does it fare in terms of size compared to the normal one?
Warsmith Uveron
I love the concept of this... not sure about the battle cannon housing. I think there may be another option... have to ponder.
CovertToaster
Yeah just use the guard battle cannon from a Russ. Pretty close to the original. Or was it from a bane blade? Anyway you can find the bits on eBay cheap.
Teetengee
looks pretty good!
Raztalin
Yeah just use the guard battle cannon from a Russ. Pretty close to the original. Or was it from a bane blade? Anyway you can find the bits on eBay cheap. I was using both of these guides as the basis of mine too. I used the Russ Battle Cannon along with the turret from the Hunter / Stalker kit: http://www.daventrysquash.co.uk/ben/pictures/thawk/image3.jpeg http://www.daventrysquash.co.uk/ben/pictures/thawk/image4.jpeg http://www.daventrysquash.co.uk/ben/pictures/thawk/image5.jpeg Its changed somewhat since these pics were taken, but the Battle Cannon part remains the same. Hope that helps
Bjorn Firewalker
Excellent work, Raztalin. Does the Thunderhawk cannon count as turret-mounted, able to traverse and shoot at flanking enemies?
Raztalin
Bjorn, I have no idea tbh mate - Im a modeler rather than a gamer, and the games i do play are much smaller scale than a THawk would be welcome in!! :) I'll try and remember to post newer pics of the beast at some stage, its all back in boxes; amazing how much space 1 model can occupy!!!
