I yhink i should have sprayed the gold then varnished.

 

Covered with a stencil then done the greys. But you live & learn.

 

I think I have a workable solution. Son gone for 2.5 days and getting atleast 1 day to paint, so they will be ultra basic but finished enough for me to complete my vow.

Submitted for your enjoyment. One of my favorite Space Wolf models, the Metal Banner Bearer. I think GW really knocked all of the old school metal banner bearers out of the park but this one is mine (OURS). I'm so happy to have him painted. Daughters phone does a better job than my phone at taking pictures but it's still a LONG WAY FROM GOOD. I'll have to break out the wife's nice camera for my completed vow pictures...

Great work, everyone.

Especially cool that all of us show of their personal style to convert and paint their own models - with both Ancient models and newer sprues, most basic GWS kits and Forgeworld specialties present.

 

Really goes a long way to show how stubborn and distinct we Wolf Lords are, when it comes to our own Great Companies.

 

My 15 Blood Claws are on a good way.

They have very light grey armor, with a red wolfhead on their left shoulder, looks ace. (A bit like Stormtroopers from another universe...)

They just need a wash with thinned Nuln Oil, then paint the faces, wash those with Reikland Fleshshade (I think), then a BIT of Blood here and there for good measure and some other details like the power sword and gems.

After that the bases, but by now it's so easy to paint rocky shale surfaces for me.(Apparently studying rocks, volcanoes and fossils wasn't all for nothing. Yay!) And then Mournmountain Snow, with a bit of blue shade and white drybrushing is all I need for snow.

 

I -should- be able to do all of that after work today with ease.

RikuEru I used exactly the same torso and plasma pistol on my very bland Cypher. I didn't have any of the proper shade of green so I mixed my own with black/green... it's a little dark . He'll never win a Golden Demon but he'll see the tabletop a time or two.

Also included are a picture of my Rune Priest on a bike. That completes my Wyrdstorm Bros. and Cypher requirements. Drop Pod and a Grey Hunter or two should be done tomorrow leaving the only tough nut to crack being a Vindicator... Already planning my second vow...

Less than happy, but with time constraints I declare my vow complete:

 

My tanks are done to an ultra-basic level, and good enough to roll on the table-top.

 

I had to pretty much respray all the tanks.

 

 

Predator and Scorpius, with knotwork on the rear of the scorpius.

 

 

Typhon sides completely wrecked with mulitiple attempts at knotwork so stripped back and resprayed. No pattern on the sides (for now)

I really don't put much effort into my drop pods. Try to make sure they're clean and meet Three Color Minimum just in case. The picture shows 2 drop pods. The one for ETL is on the right (with the DW Missiles) the other is one of mine just to show it's up to my standard (because they really should get more attention...)
