Don't worry, just because I may not be revowing in the same post as my completion this year, doesn't mean I am not going for 5 vows. I am just not sure what I want ti do next, as I only have 2 of the 3-4 sorcerers ready for my conclave (and I want to do them all in one go) and my deathwatch chosen only number three at a ready to paint state. I have a couple other things, but am not sure if I want to save those for later vows depending on how much time I end up having as I move.

 

As for the herald, there will be some fluff down the line for her, but I haven't gotten around to solidifying it yet, if you want an explanation for most of the elements.

It si totally unacceptable that we're behind the HH in terms of points, participants, vows, revows, and most importantly: number of comments and pages inour strategiums. We are traditionally the most banter heavy forum: act like it. Hell, even put in the occasional dancing GIF!!

Also regarding the banter, gimme a few days to get this vow out the way first, atm Im in 'serious' painting mode. Only problem is Ive got all the marines basecoated with Castellan green and now Im stumped on what else to do with them. Think its time to check my Realms of Chaos :wub: book for further ideas.

Going Nurgle right?

Brown wash (Agrax/Strong Tone) the bejeezus out of them, 3 or 4 coats should do, then give them a light vertical drybrush of Rotting Flesh or an equivalent finally a light Green wash/glaze to bring it all together. Then just hit your trim up with some dirty metal and your good to go.

I've done this with my Termies (only way I could think of to salvage them from a bad Goblin Green spray, can crapped out mid-spray ) and it's actually come out looking pretty good

As for the banter, well we've all been a bit busy so far scraping Codex, BA, DA and the generic human lot off our respective boots not to mention that we're gonna have to make time to bring those Old Yeller wannabes in HH out the back for a good old bolt gun floss once they've run out of werthers original and pre-unity stories to help keep them going then we'll have plenty of time for the dancing and debauchery

I think Forte is painting non-power armoured miniatures, perhaps for comissions or personal use. I don't know where these thoughts come from though.

@Augustus, I have alway been in awe of the quality of your painting, but the speed is amazing too. That, and the wings you painted on the Thirster, that you admitted not being that much fun, and they still came out like that? Dedication.

 

@Kierdale. If someone said you were doing spider centaur fiends of Slannesh, I would assume that the spider part would be creepier. Silly me. I'm super excited to see what happens with your chapter master, considering how well your lowly cultist turned out.

@Augustus - Your minis make me weep sweet tears of envy. I check through your thread every month or so. When i look at your minis my eyes glaze over and my mind goes of to that far away special place... Please stop being so awesome (no don't)

 

@Kierdale - matey you do an excellent job of flying the flag for the chaos forum. Your work isn't particulary to my flavour (I instinctivly want to squash those slaneesh spiders.) But i'm still new in the Warp so i'm still learning. Seriously though the conversion work on the herald(?) is top notch. And you painting is really nice, it almost makes them appear appealing? yes more please

 

@Uveron - Another Champion of Chaos flying the Black flag for so long now. I always check your work but i've been in lurker mode for awhile now, i'm still coming out of my shell. Great job on your completion, you make Papa Nurgle proud. How pray tell? Did you do the bases on the force? They look so great all together, nice photos to and the colours are tops. more Black Legion soon?

 

@vesper - another stellar completion, I really like your scheme man, what are the colours on the cultist if you dont mind me asking? Have you considered maybe giving them a wash of Agrax earthshade? You may lose some colour but it helps with the shadows...

Im on my third copies of RoC now, these babys aint leaving my side. I will send you pictures of them doing exciting things though, they like dancing :lol:

 

Well its 6am, think I need a power nap, Im that tired I have more paint on myself than I do on my mandollies (seriously, my hands green with red streaks). Plague Marines, Dread and Vindicator have had a highlight and an ink wash, cant really do much else until the ink has dried.

haha nice one. Well its 3:16pm here in Sydney on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I went to the shops for lunch earlier and realised my hand was covered in paint, so I had to sneak off and wash them

2nd WIP Plague Bearers

 

...and the fourth seal of the underhive was broken, from forth climbed the bearers of the Grandfather's gifts on putrid feet, and they were oh so generous to the many sinners of the lower levels...

I'm almost done with the Plague Bearers. I just have some minor touch ups, washes, and then base them.

 

I have two questions that I could use a bit of advice on.

 

First, I painted the viscera with ratskin flesh, then drybrushed with Khorne red, but there is still some of my base color showing in the recesses. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean that up? I was thinking I could just wash it with violet, but I'm not sure that will work.

 

Secondly, my home table, and my bases so far are tundra / snow. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pull that off with Nurgle daemons? I don't think they should be walking on pristine snow.

Try using some blood for the blood God technical, nice glossy gory look for the guts.

 

Really: bases I'm sure there's a saying about yellow snow....

@Carrack: How about patches of brown wash coming out from the feet? Makes it look like the Plaguebearers are turning the snow to three day old slush.
