+++E Tenebrae Lux V - Realm of Chaos Strategium+++

Recommended Posts

Sounds good Augustus! Personally I feel the rise of the zenos is only setting the stage for when Chaos finally return to power. We are the rightful rulers of the galaxy, it's only a matter of time until the power shifts back to our favour. (At least I hope so.)

Honestly I think it's all about plastic. If and when the new chaos space marine kit drops, I believe it's going to totally blow the other kits out of the water. So they have to realease the vanilla kits first with buff rules or else no one would buy them in the face of the awesomeness of chaos.

Just my two cents

Right... I can see a lot of progress in general but not too many completions. *Khorne looks angrily at his minions*

Also, I'd like to propose something to everyone who has joined the Realm of Chaos Strategium, and even anyone with Chaos armies on the B&C.

We all love Chaos. It offers conversion opportunities, a wealth of fluff, and excellent miniatures. There's a reason why the Realm of Chaos has won two times in a row in the biggest painting event in the world, and might very well win a third time. It´s because Chaos might have the strongest, most dedicated following of all the 40K races.

Yet, the rules written for our faction are sorely lacking, especially considering recent publication by GW. I'm talking about Eldar, Tau and Space Marines. They´ve had 7th edition codices (some ven multiple!) published, as well as several expansion with highly competitive formations and special rules. Meanwhile, the 6th edition Chaos Space Marine Codex was never truly competitive, even when it was released it fell behind. Now, please don't think I´m whining about this. Regulars here know that I am one of the loudest voices saying we can be competitive. The problem is that only a very, very limited amount of list builds make us competitive, and even then you need experience and solid tactis to win. The contrast with the rich and varied background, as well as the multitude of specialist units in the Chaos arsenal, couldn´t be bigger.

Now, the ETL is an awesome event, and the fact that the Realm of Chaos has rallied for a third time, in unprecedented numbers, offers a unique opportunity. I would like to propose we, as a community, make an effort to spurr GW on to publish improved 7th (or 8th) edition rules asap.

What I propose is the following:

I draft a letter to GW, and publish it here in this very forum. This letter will make a very convincing argument to GW to invest in the Chaos army. Everyone, and I mean everyone agreeing with the contents of this letter, sends this letter to GW via email. In addition, all of us will endeavour to post this same letter, along with this intro, on all Chaos-related web-forums/fora, Facebook groups/pages, and other such Chaos related things, and try to convince as many people as possible to send this letter to GW.

If this post gets 20 likes (ie only 25% of frater that have vowed in this forum) before noon tomorrow, I will draft a letter and continue with the plan.

Who's with me????

Right - although I do not have strong views on that, I suggest that any further discussion on this matter takes place outside the ETL threads...

Here's a couple of chosen that are done bar basing n backpacks - I'm torn between using standard CSM packs, modifying some standard CSM packs, using dv chosen packs mixed in with the above, possessed packs, or a mixture of the whole lot (let's face it this is most likely)

I'll put more shots in the log ( http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/322456-etl-v-maligns-litany-of-hate-mk-3/)

MaliGn, I really like the symbols you've done on those robes. Great Looking Word Bearers! :tu:

@Sith'ari - Thanks very much :D

@Teetengee - They are simply painted on with a detail brush, I use Iyanden Darksun then wash with Reikland Fleshshade and finally go over the middle of the stripe with Iyanden Darksun again. If i do make a mistake I use Abaddon Black to neaten them up.

Cheers!

That's a steady hand you have there to get the stripes that even and straight!

Here is what I have finished for ETL so far. My final thesis and other RL stuff keep me from painting. But there is some progress. Still a lot to do (2/3 Oblits, 3/6 PM, and 2 Sorcerers). Slow and purposeful!

Cypher is done!

Cypher conversion for ETL V

Cypher conversion for ETL V

Cypher conversion for ETL V

And the first Obliterator. I really like how he turned out.

Black Legion Sons of the Cyclops Obliterator for ETL Nr1 1

Black Legion Sons of the Cyclops Obliterator for ETL Nr1 1

Black Legion Sons of the Cyclops Obliterator for ETL Nr1 1

And another follower of the porta potti incarnate.

Black Legion Bringers of Decay Plague Marine for ETL Nr.3

Three out of six poop slingers are done....

Urgh, this annoys me, all my stuff is at my dads, and I'm house sitting until I go to and then get back from England, 4 weeks from now. I mean, yeah, I'll have a week free with Jetlag forcing me to adjust via painting but still...

Quite some progress but not that many completions... hmm...

However the quality is outstanding

Guardian, that Kaytan is outstanding and Aasfresser? Both the Cypher and the Oblit are breathtaking! Great style you got there!

Not gonna lie, my response to finding out Grandpa died on the day the event started should not have been 'Well I'll still vow everything because screw wallowing in misery! Glory to Chaos!'.

I should have factored in what several trips to Nottingham in rapid succession would do to my energy levels and painting time and split it up. Ah well, I'm over the worst of it now with the bikers done. Had to play today so no pics or painting as yet, but I'm doing sod all tonight so I'll paint some trim to the dulcet tones of my wife swearing at idiots in Overwatch.

Alright, time for vow 3.

I gaurdian31 rise to the challenge of E TENEBRAE LUX and vow to complete:

1 Renegade Knight with Icarus auto cannon, Rapid Fire Battlecannon and Reaper Chainsword (410 pts):

Renegade knight

1 Chaos Knight Errant (370 pts):

Chaos knight

from Codex Chaos Space Marines of total value 710 points on or before August 15th, 2016. Success will bring eternal glory to Chaos and failure will doom me to bear the Badge of the Oathbreaker until the year-end.
