I am still in the midst of weathering it, shall add some more chips and streaking grime, before a layer of dust.

I've been slowly slogging away at my pledge (I've been playing too much DOOM), but I know have a fairly decent WIP to show. Hopefully the MDRC can forgive the blue CHOOM!

This is the squad sergeant and because I couldn't for the life of me figure out where the scanner that comes with the culverins went, he has a servo skull as an augur scanner. I'll give some nice fluff reasons for that in my main thread once I get some more of the squad done.

My main airbrush compressor died in the process :'( the piston counter weight sheered off.

 

Little tankless saved the day and i picked up a new compressor today ;)

Brothers and sisters, I do believe a status update is in order. This time last year we were doing well:
 

Here we go, the daily numbers write up for the AoD forum:

• Pledged total: 54,032 points
• Completed total: 2,855 points
• Vows completed: 1

Very well done to AlphariusOmegon108, not only in completing his vow and posting up the first official score for us but also for making a second vow. Props to you, brother.

This year, we are doing even better at the end of the first week:

• Pledged total: 75,995 points
• Completed total: 2,919 points
• Vows completed: 4
• Completion rate: 3.8%
• Number of vows: 74
• Average vow: 1027 points

 

Hats off to Kurama for our first large vow completion (2,069 points) and drawing First Blood within the HH subforum. We trust that you have your second vow well in hand. As things stand, we have almost half as many points again at this point this year than we did last year. This is nothing to be sniffed at by our rivals but we must endeavor to finish our vows. I am of a mind to assume we will perform similarly to last year - we will lead the entire event - but we cannot afford to fall at the final hurdle. Failed vows let the entire subforum down last year and a repeat of that will be shameful indeed.

 

We've improved our number of completed vows, which all bar one are of multiple models. There are many more which appear underway (and I suspect our completed total will rise impressively over the next couple of weeks). However, we must be mindful of the Week Three Blues.

 

Of course, I can't do a round up without giving a nod to Forward Assist for his completion in the name of the MDRC. You do the Club proud, brother. Be assured a shiny badge will await you and others like you who paint in the name of the MDRC this year at the end of the event.

Hoping to get the armour steel basecoat and the armour pad basecoat and gold trim done this weekend.

 

Then it will be another 3-4 weeks for all the details, weathering and heat damage,

Just have the one guy left and the shoulder pads for the squads and my first vow will be complete. Which is a good thing because the second vow is much more difficult :)

Here's my Week One update. I'm starting off with a bang and doing the Gal Vorbak. As you can see, I'm going with black armour for the Dark Martyr to not only have him stand out from the rest, but also to represent his sacrifice for his brethren. His armour is complete and I'm now working on his red pauldrons and knee guard. The other Gal Vorbak are two layers in and will probably get another layer or two before I wash them.

Well, I have more or less half of my vow complete:

 

Five of my ten reavers are done:

 

I´m quite happy with the blades, its the first time that I manage to pull off that effect on a squad (and before I had just done it on a praetor):

 

And I have also compleated the 2 justaerin with claws (actually these 2 don´t have justaerin pieces, but the other 3 do and all of them have the justaerin colour scheme):

 

With this I just have a centurion, another 5 reavers and 3 justaerin to go, which means that hopefully I´ll be able to do at least another two vows, though I hope for three!
