Ew, Ultramarines. Right as I was about to post my freshly base-coated Word Bearers.

I kid. \o Thrown the pre-picture in my original vow post. It's nice to get this thing rolling properly now.

Gentlemen, I have decided. Time to recommit what I can to the cause. As such, time for Vow 2.

I, Aias, do rise to the challenge of ETL and vow to complete one Questoris Knight Paladin with a twin Icarus Autocannon, the first of House Rahja, for a total of 410 points. Success shall bring honor to my House, while failure shall bring eternal shame.

I don't have a picture just yet, but I'll post tomorrow.

And now we have a picture. Not exactly a great one, but here it is.

Well, barring Transfers and a bit more weathering/detail work, the Aedifex Perditae is just about done.

I'll admit, I'm a little bummed out that I couldn't try for more. Unfortunately however, real life, and a broken hand, can certainly get in the way of progress, especially on such a big model. dry.png

That said, I'm very happy with her, and will try to get some photos up when she's truly finished (for completion's sake) tongue.png

Vogon: Good completion. No worries about doing a second vow if you think you won't have the time, you have already done your part!

Brother Chaplain Kage: Replacement treads look really nice, where are they from?

DuskRaider: Great looking squad, more choom is always ncie to see!

MindOfMetal: Really impressive looking Knight, making me want my own Atrapos. Nice revow too!

The Traitor: Love how you did the lightning claws, congratulations on finishing your vow!

Balthamal: You show that wall who the boss is! Nice progress

Isinfier: Good start, looking forward to seeing them all painted up

Ninjaman: Looking really good, hope your hand heals up quick.

Some good work in here as always, now to go back to working on my second vow

So. Much. Detail.

Bloody Suzerains - not the wisest move for me to start my painting game off with these guys! So far I have done some of the gold on a couple of them and I think I will try Guilliman after these leaving the Solar Auxilia til last.

I feel your pain. I detested painting them

I vow to paint stuffs for this. Let's start with a Sicarran I received just yesterday.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e137/Wynnar/Sicarran_zps4sfdw1rn.jpg

And a Storm raven I got on the cheap and have now dismantled enough to start converting into an Eagle.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e137/Wynnar/Eagle_zps7gakcdsz.jpg

Had I noticed this sooner, I could have pledged my Calth Box as well but now they are almost done already, only the terminators and the contemptor to go and even they have the main colors mostly in place.

Neigorath... I got bad news, brother. June 15 was the cutoff to make your first vow, and if you hadn't made a vow by then, you can't pledge for it now. sad.png

Darn. Then I'll just build them for my own pleasure.

The deadline for new participants was on June 15th.

However you can always join with an out-of-competition vow. What does this mean?

Well, out-of-competition vows are exactly like normal vows and they are eligible for the Custos Fidei if you make them or the dreaded Badge of the Oath Breaker if you fail. You may post your progress in the relevant Strategium threads and provide and receive encouragement by your Faction-brothers (or sisters). HOWEVER, the points associated with your vow will not be counted towards your Faction's total.

So feel free to join in with your vow, get inspiration and motivation, and come out with the appropriate badge that will commemorate your participation!

As it happens I'm adding your vow in the first page under the out-of-competition vows. If the ETL proves to be the motivator you need in order to paint your stuff then so much the better.

If you have any further questions feel free to ask! smile.png

Behold - I have actually completed my first ever ETL Vow! Huzzah!!

Palatine Blade squad (prefector +4 warriors, power swords, jump packs, sonic shriekers = 225pts).

My Legion command squad (standard + 3 chosen, 4x combat shields, melta bombs, 3x power weapon (lances) = 195pts). (Modeled with and without jump packs - my Praetor is non-jump packed but I have some generic non-campaign HQs to run them with as a praetor):

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

As someone without an air brush or fancy metallics I came up with a recipe that I thought looked right. I did a few test pieces before settling on this recipe which is also the marines I did for the Loyalty and Treachery challenge.

Cheers

Der_H: Really nice looking Emperor's Children, and quite impressive how fast you painted your Sicaran!

civsmitty: Terminators look good, totally loyal sons of Mortarion. Great progress on your vow so far!

pompeyladbfp: Nice completion,  your Ravens always look great.

Slow progress on my end, but should have some time this weekend to knock my 2nd vow out and see about a 3rd.

Very nice pompey - Beautiful Ravens there! Now take break and see if you feel like upping the stakes! As you said 3,200 are a lot of points. ;)

Wow, I've missed days off without post grad exams....So much hobby time!

So after a day and a half I have completed my second vow. Behold my Legion Sicarran (Armoured Ceramite, auxiliary drive and two lascannon sponson weapons) to a total of 205 points.

Back to work tomorrow and a buys few days, however hopefully Ill get my 3rd vow done in the next few weeks...and with that in mind...

I, Der H, vow One Legion Vindicator (Armoured Ceramite, auxiliary drive extra armour and machine spirit - 210pts) and a Legion Rhino (auxiliary drive 45pts) to a total of 255 points.

Great completions Der H - Love that Sicaran! And I see you're continuing with some serious hardware too! :D Good luck!

A small point though, the auxiliary drive and the extra armour, how are they represented? It doesn't take much to represent them - a small effort will get you a long way. But if you can't think of anything we may need to adjust the points unless of course I'm missing something (which may very well be the case). Remember, you can only claim points for add-ons you can physically represent on the model. ;)

So it's Friday already! I'll try to get the update early on Saturday because I'll have a busy weekend (Saturday is the proper day anyway) so I'll be looking here maybe another time today, but then that's it for this week! So if you want your vow to boost this week's stats, now is the time!

UPDATED TO THIS POINT!

Grateful it is the beginning of July... first week down and I have finally got Sigismund, 6 scimitars and the rhino primed, put 15 dudes on bases and preparing to prime them (as soon as the rains stop).

Exciting news as my DDP and melta lance are getting closer...as well as the MKIII and IV techmarines I ordered(still awaiting the 2 quad guns and lightning I ordered second hand from a fellow to arrive).

The techmarines will be the gunners for the quad guns as I think an artillery piece should have dudes with servo arms and some heavier armour to load them;)

The leviathan is awaiting my patient brush and I am awaiting some free time.
