The Folio thread allows the GM and players to gather important clues and "in-universe" information that details the setting and, additionally, any clues necessary for the investigation.

This thread will also provide a venue for players to post their completed character sheets for reference.

Timeline

- 910.M41 - It Begins

In the dying weeks of the year, the first acolytes were recruited into the service of the Lady Amaranthe. Hailing from disparate worlds and walks of life, they were transported to Hive Praxis on the world of Hyades and left inactive.

-c.007911.M41 - c.015911.M41 - Into the Depths
Finally summoned into active Inquisitorial service, the acolytes were introduced to Interrogator Brandt at the building known as the House of Forgotten Saints. He ordered them to investigate the suspicious death of hive-prole Findus Vigg, an investigation that led them to the down-hive settlement of Acid Falls. Having encountered hideously disfigured creatures known as "Red Eyes", and uncovering corruption amongst the Magistratum Enforcers, the Cell were led to an Alms House operated by the beleaguered Hyronian Cartel. The Cell fought a Tech-Priestess of considerable power; a skirmish that ended in the destruction of the Alms House and the death of one of their number.

-c.016911.M41 - 042911.M41 - A Time to Heal
Having uncovered the evil within Acid Falls, and called reinforcements to secure the district, the surviving members of Septimus Cell were extracted from Acid Falls and returned to the mid-hive districts, where they spent ten days recovering from their wounds - both physical and mental.

-c.045911.M41 - c.063911.M41 - Truth and Consequence

After this period of convalescence, Interrogator Brandt informed the cell of the heretek cult known as the Vinculists, known for their deviant progressive views. The Acolytes were tasked with heading into the Spire and investigating a new noble cult known as 'the True' for any potential links to the Vinculists.

Aided by former Inquisitorial Agent Lord Amos Haldane and his daughter Adrielle, Septimus Cell infiltrated the Praxian nobility. Discovering that psychically-gifted children of the noble households were disappearing and being processed into a potent narcotic drug, the Cell were able to disrupt the activities of the True, preventing the Vinculists from perpetrating acts of great evil. As part of the investigation, the Cell attempted to recover a mysterious (and potentially heretical) grey-skinned book. Though they managed to find the text, it had been destroyed by a mysterious and unknown group who appeared to know of the Cell's movements.

-c.064911.M41- c.334911.M41 - Recuperation

c.413911.M41 - Consolidating the Foothold against the Vinculists
The intelligence gathered by the Cell results in the forces of the Inquisition raiding a warehouse in the Pardus district. Whilst the Vinculist assassin known as Theodosius managed to escape, the Cell recovered the body of Thalia Haldane and the injured Tech-Priest Majster. The information housed within the facility's cogitators proved to be exceptionally valuable, providing the location of a number of other facilities within Hive Praxis belonging to the Vinculists. Over the following weeks, the acolytes of Septimus Cell would lead a number of brutal and bloody assaults on these facilities, severely undermining the capacity of the hereteks to operate within the Hive.

-c.502911.M41 -  Under the Hammer
As a ferocious thunderstorm lashes the hive, Interrogator Brandt returns to provide the Cell with new members, and a new mission. It transpired that the Inquisitor Nahun Grist had requisitioned the cell's aid for a mysterious mission. Travelling to the Hyadean Chancellery Court, the Cell met Grist, who informed them of their new mission: infiltrating the auction of the Rogue Trader Ezekiel Sunder's estate.

c.508911.M41 - c.572211.M41 - Travelling through the Sea of Souls
The Cell embarked upon the Chartist vessel Sirius, captained by Sarvus Thornhallow, for a journey scheduled to take four weeks.

-c.573211.M41 - The Sunder Estate

Sector Dalthus

Dalthus%20Revised%20v31_zps5ekcbv0e.png

The Dalthus Sector is located within the Eastern Ultima Segmentum. It stakes claim to a great many populated worlds, and is a valuable - if  vulnerable - sector of Imperial space.

During the Great Crusade of the Emperor's Legions, the Dalthus Sector was first claimed by the Word Bearers Legion of the Astartes. During the tumultuous years of the Horus Heresy, the Sector was lost to war, riven by petty factionalism and betrayal.

Although some of the sector - such as the redoubtable Terullian Commonwealth - stayed loyal to the Imperium, full control of the Sector was finally established in .M36, in no small part due to the Swordpoint Crusade and the arrival of the Castigators Chapter in the area known as the Howling Stars. In the five millennia since, the Dalthus Sector has become a populous and industrious area of space.

Geography and Demography

The Dalthus Sector covers a large geographical area, and has been divided into sub-sectors in an effort to improve the efficiency of government and the collection of Administrative tithings. Each of the sub-sectors is ruled by a Governor, although the Sector as a whole is governed from Dalthus Prime. On the far-flung worlds of the Borderworlds, the central seat of Imperial authority is referred to disparagingly as "Far Dalthus", which perhaps offers some insight into the difficulties of ensuring compliance.

Sub-Sector Hyades

dalthus.jpg

Sub-Sector Hyades, also referred to as the Hyadean Sub, is one of the political and geographical divisions of the greater Dalthus Sector. The sub consists of eleven planetary systems, each containing a number of planets and planetoids.

Key Allies of Septimus Cell

Inquisitrix Amaranthe

Alias: "The Lady"

Rank/Position: Inquisitor, Ordos Hereticus Dalthus

Information: The Acolytes of Septimus Cell currently know very little about their mistress; none have knowingly met her, and yet she has taken an interest in all of them.

Interrogator Hiram Brandt

Alias: None Known

Rank/Position: Interrogator, Ordos Hereticus Dalthus

Physical Description: Brandt is tall and lean, with white hair beginning to recede at his temples. His face is weathered, and dark stubble swathes his jaw. He wears a dark red leather jacket over white robes.

Information: Interrogator Brandt was responsible for gathering the Cell within the House of Forgotten Saints and giving its members their first assignment: the investigation into the suspicious death of hive-prole Findus Vigg. Brant appears to have a high level of medical knowledge, and was able to provide the Cell with some insight into the synthetic organs implanted within Vigg's body. After forcing the Cell to elect its Prime, Brandt equipped the acolytes and dispatched them to Acid Falls.

After the acolytes uncovered the Vinculist presence within the Barrens, Brandt led a force of Arbitrators who secured the area and conducted thorough examinations in an attempt to uncover the hereteks' plans. Unable to proceed, Brandt dispatched Septimus Cell to infiltrate the cult known as 'the True' for evidence of suspected links to the Vinculist threat. When the investigation stalled, Brandt acted to remove Aridius Helbrec from the cell, installing Artemis Stroud as the Prime and providing him with reinforcements.

Brandt would return after Septimus Cell discovered the links between Caros Shoal and the Vinculists, beginning the hive-wide purges led by Artemis Stroud.

Lord Amos Haldane

Haldane.png

Alias: None Known

Rank/Position: Master of House Haldane, Hyades

Physical Description: Amos Haldane is a broad man, simultaneously like and unlike his daughter. He is short and squat, like a stump with legs. His face is deeply lined, and he wears clothes of a distinctly militaristic cut. His voice has a stentorian quality that, along with his erect posture, gives him away instantly as a former officer of the Imperial Navy. His right eye is a graceful prosthetic of adamantine and silver.

Information: A former officer on the Imperial Navy vessel Defiance, Haldane was recruited to serve the Inquisition by the Lady Amaranthe's former master - although he has told the Cell very little of his experiences.

Lady Adrielle Haldane

Adrielle-1.png

Alias: None Known

Rank/Position:

Physical Description: A tall, long-legged woman with a young, shapely face, lively eyes and a shock of fiery-red hair.

Information: The daughter of Amos Haldane is somewhat disaffected with life amongst the nobility, a trait she blames on her father. Whilst her peers were taught fine dining and etiquette, she was learning to strip autorifles. It is perhaps for this reason that she took so well to the excitement of Septimus Cell's investigations into the True.

After the true scale of the Vinculist threat was revealed, her father sent her off-world to stay with her Aunt Obelia, much to her frustration.

The Spider and his Minions

Inquisitor Nahun Grist

Grist1_zpsichb5gby.jpg

Alias: "The Spider"

Rank/Position: Inquisitor, Ordos Hereticus Dalthus

Physical Description:

Information: Nahun Grist is a name known to evoke fear within the Inquisitors of the Dalthus Sector. He has based his operations on Hyades, rarely leaving the hiveworld, and yet his operatives are wide-ranging. He has been likened to a spider at the centre of a web, listening closely for the tell-tale vibrations of its prey. It is a comparison he welcomes.

Grist was first encountered by Septimus Cell within the Chancellery Courts of Hyades, where he tasked them with infiltrating the auction of Ezekiel Sunder's estate.

Scribe Astelan
Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe)
Status: ACTIVE
Divination: "A mind without purpose will wander in dark places."

Physical Description
Age: 42
Astelan is bent of back and short of stature. He has a long lean face, and an unhealthy, pale, gaunt look about him. He is clearly balding at the top, but what hair left to him is dark, greasy, lanky and unkept. A bar code has been branded into his forehead. His left hand has been encased into a crude, semi-bionic writing device that extends in a visible exo-skeleton up through the shoulder. He has not removed the devise in 15 years.

Personality
A humble servant who is unused to the rough and tumble life outside of the admin-dome.  A compulsive organizer and chronicler with an unnatural love for books and the written word.  His service in the Inquisition has challenged him in ways that have made him question his own motivations and sanity.

Prior Life
Rank/Position: Hereditary Scribe (Section VII, Sub-Section XII, Cube XLII, Seat XV-A), Hyadean Administrative Data-Hive
Astelan was a proud and diligent member of a guild of Hereditary Scribes deep within the bowels of the Hyadean Administrative Data-Hive. His life was one of duty; he did not imagine that there was a world outside the confines of his daily routines. Instead, he was content to busy himself with his role and his purpose. At the age of 41, after over 25 years serving in the Inscription unit, Astelan illuminated a text that was never meant for his eyes to see. The text has since vanished, and Astealn was offered a simple choice, death or service in the Inquisition. Astelan lived to serve. In exchange, the scribe was made mute, so the secrets he records will might never pass his lips.

Upon Astelan’s left hand and arm is a dizzying array of auto-quills, calligraphy tools, ink injectors, and other illumination tools. These serve as the tools of the scribe’s trade. In a pinch, it can be used as an improvised weapon equivalent to Brass Knuckles.
  • Micro-Bead
A short-range communications device worn in the ear; typically, a micro-bead will have a range of about a kilometre.
  • Chronometer
A timepiece.
  • Data-Slate

Mementos
A symbol of St. Oliander on a silver chain
A hereditary scribe's life is very proscribed. One cannot simply do what one wishes. You are a slave to the bureaucracy, and this vast labyrinth determines when you sleep, what you eat, where you say prayers, and who you pair with. Once, when he was young and foolish; Astelan tried to break these proscribed routines. His small rebellion was an unregistered, undocumented, and unapproved relationship with a fellow scribe of Section 8. It was quickly discovered and squashed. Astelan has only two reminders of those ancient days of rebellion, this small trinket and the permanent reprimand in his personnel file. St. Oliander is the patron saint of lost causes.

Yunxian 6-72

Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe)
Status: ACTIVE
Divination: "A Duty Worthy of Service is Worthy of Sacrifice "

Physical Description
Age: 57
In a time past, one might have marveled at the mastery of marriage between genetic perfection and the purity of machine. With age and neglect, the flesh will wither and the metal will rust. The Chirurgeon is a towering figure of intimidating presence. The body beneath its tattered mantle is decayed, a pallid gray texture where once there had been skin of brilliant caramel. Its form is ribbed and gangly, vat-grown musculature past its use into malnourished degeneration, only held aloft by dense bone structure and whirring servos. Crude limb replacements and cast frames have been used to keep the savant at functioning capabilities with no small measure of discomfort. Smaller blade and manipulator limbs are infused to its chest and abdomen, what few mechandrites that have seen routine maintenance to ensure it can function.  Its face is a ghoulish visage, lower jaw removed in place of tubed respirator units that cover up to the nose and small mandible-limbs that protrude from the neck and cheeks. Its eyes are gone, abandoned leaving only hollowed sockets. Its singular 'third' eye, a crimson optical lens protruding from the forehead is its only form of vision, though it often relies on visual-feed provided through its servo-skull thralls that follow in Yunxian's wake.

Personality

Despite its revanent appearance and extended time in isolation, Yunxian 6-72 shows few signs of mental degeneration. Having undergone extensive mind-cleansing several decades ago, the savant of the Mechanicum upholds to the standards of the Machine-Cult of Mars, pure in duty and its pursuit of knowledge. As a former servant of the Magos Biologis, Genetor Mistress Kysla, Yunxian keeps to the philosophy of its schooling and a ardent believer in Primus Humanum, the purity of the human form and humanities place as the image of the God Emperor's design. As a Chirurgeon and a scholar of Mutara, it upholds to the Hippocratic Oath of the Biologis Creed, an excellent physician and astute in the guarded knowledge of  Servo-Skull and Servitor reclamation.

What few behavioral protocol deviations  only came to light once the Tech-Priest was abandoned in the lower hives of Meggdon. There, amongst the people ravaged by disease and crime, it found a new purpose, its own purpose. Even in isolation Yunxian 6-72 never abandoned its Hippocratic Oath. Withered flesh and short-circuiting machinery are regularly sterilized, general practice was provided to those in need and lives who did not endanger others were always given care in desperate times. It began to produce signs of  protective tendencies in its cranial circuitry a kindness rarely seen in the Scions of Mars. Instances of suicidal tendencies were exhibited during isolation from the Mechanicus, both at its own hands and at that of local gangs. The Tech-savant displayed little sense of self-preservation and always put its duty above its own survival. How it has continued to function, even if in such poor condition, is a miracle unto itself.

Prior Life
Rank/Position: Chirurgeon, Adeptus Mechanicus (Mutaran Biologis)
What life kind  of person the Chirurgeon known as Yunxian 6-72, what kind they lived before they became a Servant of the Omnissiah, it is irrelvant. What archives that might withhold such information are likely buried beneath an avalanche of data and files to the teeming billions that have lived and died on the forgeworld of Mutara. What records might have told was a youth that sought to join the Crimson Guard Skitarii. In that time, she showed an aptitude for medical practice, destined to be a field-medic of the forgeworld's proud military arm, yet it was that exceptional score which drew the eye of the Genetor Mistress Kysta. With strong ties to the Fabricator General and the necessity of her duty to the Geneseed scrutiny to the Castigators Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, the Magos Biologis with ease plucked the girl from her dream to be amongst the skitarii and into the life of a Chirurgeon.

That was when such past lives were made irrelevant, purged from memory and the youth ceased to be a she, now nothing more than an it. Yunxian 6-72, Seventy-Second Chirurgeon of the sixth tier in service to the Mutara Biologis and Genetor Mistress Kysta. The moniker 'Yunxian' is little more than a pet name given at a whim by the capricious Magos, a name taken from a physician on distant Terra in ages long past. Body and mind, shaped to the Genetor's whim, soul given to service to the Omnissiah and the Cult of Mars, Yunxian6-72 became a tech-priest of Mutara and a physician of the Biologis. It was in these years that life was dedicated purely to the pursuit of knowledge and honing one's craft, spilling over data-crypts and tomes without rest, providing services to the mining-slaves in tending to their wounded as practice. 6-72 rose quickly from the eighth tier to the sixth, and perhaps they might have risen further in esteem, were it not for the fate to come.

In a diplomatic service to the Hive nobility of Meggdon as mediator between the Houses and the Adeptus Astartes, Genetor Kysta arrived with her cohort of bodyguards and attendants. Yunxian 6-71 was among her acolytes who were selected to join in the trip. An assassination attempt was made on the  Genetor's life, an attack that was believed to be orchestrated by the Vinculits, though there was never any proof. There, in that ensuing ambush along the catwalks of the landing bays Yunxian fell, caught by a las shot o the chest cavity and sent plummeting over the edge.

As fate would have it, the Chirurgeon would survive the fall, bloodied and broken from the damage and falling into the sewage canals of the underhive. Yunxian dragged itself from the murky waters and collapsed, its mind shutting down slowly as it began to repair itself by necessity. After it awoke from the hibernation protocol, 6-72 found itself sranded deep in the underhive of Meggdon, the Genetor alive and well but long gone from the planet now, the aspiring Chirurgeon simply assumed dead and forgotten. It was abandoned in that place. Yet it was here, in this dark underhive that the tech-savant found a people ravaged by disease, mutation, and crime. Though cut from its master, the savant of the Biologis followed its Hippocratic Oath and found new purpose in service to this forgotten children of the Emperor, a lonely shepherd tending to its lost flock.

Inquisitorial Service
Potentially, there might be some background here.

Weaponry

Stubcarbine.jpg

  • Stub Carbine

A weapon design unique to the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Stub Carbine is a weapon used often by bodyguards to Mechanicus officials and by the more famously known Sicarian Infiltrators. Created after the original designs of the Heavy Stubber, the Carbine offers a more light weight and versatile unit while sacrificing little stopping power of its progenitor. As a member of only the sixth tier of servants to the Genetor Mistress, Yunxian and its fellow Chirurgeons some times served as a first line of protection for their Mistress, beyond combat servitors to ensure there was no needless expenditure of her real bodyguards. This Stub Carbine was the firearm issued to 6-72 in the case of that task which would fatefully lead to its abandonment. The weapon remains with the Chrurgeon to this day as its only real weapon.

  • Mechandrite Blades

Under its Hippocratic Oath as part of the Biologis Creed, Yunxian 6-72 is a surgeon above all else and as such may never turn its blades against another human as part to due harm (save for such sanctioned moments when 'forceful interrogation' is required. To use its surgical blades against another, even in the midst of combat, would be a direct violation of that Oath. A myriad of mechancical talons and blade-ended limbs protrude from the savant's body, each a tool made for the sole purpose of medical practice, and will only be used as a means of self-defense in the most dire of situations.

Clothing

  • Mechanicus Robes and Vestments

To this day, Yunxian still wears the tattered, crimson vestments of the Mechanicus, though they hardly mean anything now with little connection to its former home world or its faction.

  • Flak Greatcoat

Atop its ghoulish exterior and shorn robes, Yunxian wears a a ragged, dark brown greatcoat woven with this flak protection to provide some means of defense. The greatcoat doubles as a means of obscuring its imagine. Though it may be detached from human emotions, the Chirurgeon is aware enough of the reaction most would have to its presence and so keeps its face hidden beneath that heavy hood, some times donning a crude corvian billed mask as was the tradition of such physicians in ancient Terra.

Equipment

  • Medicae Mechandrites

Several flexible limbs protrude from the savant's reinforced cyber-mantle, two-metre long appendages fixed with an array of syringes, scalpels, drills, and all manner of devices used almost solely for the task of surgery, though some may double for the more mundane taskes required of a Tech-Priest's holy duties to the machine.

  • Medicae Kit

Alongside its Mechandrites Yunxian carries a medikit containing the necessities of various cataplasm patches, contraseptics and synth-skin as well as basic medical tools and some stimm doses, though much of the Chirurgeon's supplies have begun to run dry. The kit also doubles easily as an Excruciator kit, the Chirurgeon able to use its knowledge of the human body to its advantage when information is needed, though such times are rare and the priest of Mutara is reluctant to do so.

  • Combi-Tools

Though a savant of the Bilogis Creed, 6-72 is still a Scion of Mars and, as such, is versed in the tasks required of one of its office. A specialist in Servoskull and Servitor reclamation, the Tech-Priest carries the bizarre utility tools needed to tend to the many machines that ensure the Imperium's continued function.

  • Servo-Skulls

As an expert in reclamation rites, Yunxian has filled its innate loneliness and shotcomings with a small host of Servo-Skulls that follow in its wake. These small, monotasked machines riding on mundane anti-gravity devises help provide the Chirurgeon with some tasks that it cannot functionally do on its own or assist in its tasks. One Servo-skull is fixed with many optic lenses, ribbed cabling connecting it to the tech-savant's cortex implants, helping by providing a greater depth of vision and magnification. Another provides illumination by a cracked Lumen-globe, bright enough to illuminate the dark in a limited space but more importantly allow 6-72 to work in dim places. The last two servo-skulls are little more than assistants, fitted with discarded medical equipment cleansed and repurposed to aide the surgeon and tech-priest in its work. Without a proper generator station to charge them, Yunxian connects them to its internal Potentia-Coil through several cables from the Electro-Grafts protruding from its back. There they hide in their dormant stat beneath the chirurgeon's greatcoat as they charge, giving the savant an almost hunch-back like outline when all four are underneath.

Mementoes

  • Battered Lodestone

Retaining any possessions of an individual's life following their induction into the Mechanicum is a punishable offense, for it shows a lack of commitment to the path of knowledge and oneness with the Omnissiah. However egregious the offense might be, Yunxian 6-72 keeps with it this small trinket, little more than a weathered and weak lodestone wrapped into a small band to wear as a necklace. It was a gift, a good luck charm given to it when it was once a young girl. The slave-miners of Mutara are a superstitious people who believe such items to be a symbol of luck and love, for such stones attract to metal of machines and thus drawn towards the Omnissiah. 6-72 of course knows such beliefs are merely ignorance, but the stone remains in its possession.

  • Brass Token of the Machina Opus

A common trinket carried by many of the Cult of Mars just as much of the Imperial Population clutch to their Aquila talismans. The Machina Opus. It is a symbol of affiliation to the Adeptus Mechanicus as an agent of the order's will and, more importantly, bears a small chip inside that offers the recorded identification of its own within.

Wyl Munny

Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe)

Status: ACTIVE

Divination: “Seek solace in service to the Throne.”

Physical Description

Age: 61

An older man atypical of his occupation, Wyl Munny cuts an imposing figure nonetheless at nearly 2 meters. Gaunt of feature, gray-haired and stubbled, he is often seen wearing a trenchcoat and a wide-brimmed hat that obscures his eyes.

Personality

What can I say about Wyl Munny? He’s a quiet man, bit distant, but can be relied upon to get the job done. Never breaks his word, neither. Don’t cross him, though. Just… don’t. You don’t want to see the consequences of that choice. Ever.

- Anonymous, on the subject Wyl Munny

Prior Life

Rank/Position: Bounty hunter (certified under the Raptura Agreement of 540.M37)

Whatever Munny did before he became a bounty hunter is unknown, though there have been a wide range of theories ranging from Guard deserter to hive ganger. What is known, however, is that at some point he appeared in Hive Remus on Hyades one day, carrying the broken body of a prominent criminal slung over one shoulder and a smoking shotgun over the other, in full view of several officers of the Magistratum. Upon confronting this odd figure, the officers discovered that he had all proper documentation, certified by the Seal of Terra as a Throne-supported bounty hunter. From then on, whispers of the man began to circulate, his reputation gaining strength, eventually finding their way to an agent of the Lady Amaranthe…

Inquisitorial Service

This story lies as yet untold.

Weaponry

  • Shotgun

Munny’s most frequently used weapon, it is the same battered gun he was carrying that day he encountered the Magistarum of Hyades.

  • Stub Revolver

A commonly used backup weapon.

Clothing

  • Heavy Leather Trenchcoat

-

  • Flak Vest

Munny wears this vest beneath his coat for added protection.

  • Preysense Goggles

Preysense goggles for tracking his quarry.

Equipment

  • Combi-Tool

A worn combi-tool with a wooden handle, this device has seen Munny through many scrapes.

  • Manacles

No bounty hunter should be without a few sets of these restraints, and Munny’s not going to be the one to break that trend.

Mementoes

  • Bone dice

The bone dice that Wyl Munny carries are a reminder to him that Fate is random, and that Death does not dicriminate between young and old, healthy and sick.

  • Torn card of the Emperor's Tarot

This card, the Lost Child, holds special significance to Wyl Munny. It is the last memory he has of a loved one and his life before, and he has carried it through all his trials, through calm and through storm. Even though the edges may be battered, and the illuminated portraiture on its face may be worn away, he refuses to let it go or replace it with another. He never lets it out of his presence.

Eustasius Maraxus

Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe)

Status: ACTIVE

Divination: “There are no civilians in the battle for survival”

Physical Description:

Age: 45

Perhaps Eustasius used to be handsome; he may even have been very handsome once, once. Today, he is a hard man with a hard face that has gone through hard times. His nose is the only thing not crooked in his face and that is only because the bone has been rebuilt with metal, as the left half his skull has. His face is covered in scars, both small and large, but the most notable one runs from the left side of the top of his bald head down through his eyebrow and to his cheek, rough and wide like from an enormous claw. He is missing his left ear, which has a mechanical replacement.  The lines of his face are deep and as dark as his scowl.

He is of average height and his body is muscular, both from training and from putting it into hard work over the years. His left arm is mostly augmetic and so if his left leg. Minor and major just and burns run across his entire body, but are barely noticeable as his whole chest and back are covered in deep, skin-warping, meticulously precise hexagramic burns, as are smaller such symbols burned into his upper arms and legs.

He looks like a man who has clawed himself from the edge of hell and then went back for more.

Personality:

Eustasius believes in his work, but also understands that a grand show can often do more than 100 bullets, whether the message is true or not, the ends justify the means. He is polite, but assertive, The Emperor is on his side and none may interrupt his work, lest they face The Emperor’s Judgement. He is not unkind and takes no pleasure in hurting others, at the same time he feels no remorse slowly burning a man alive to help him confess his sins. People are shocked when they hear him joke, as his jokes are usually said without a hint of mirth.

Prior Life:

Rank/Position: Witchfinder (Sanctioned by Cardinal Garrick Dolan from the Shrineworld of Roiscant of the Dalthan Synod)

His life began normally; his parents were pious menials for the Ecclesiarchy. Less than a year into life his parents were murdered by an unsanctioned psyker on the church grounds, but Eustasius was still alive. This was taken as a sign and he was sent to the Schola Progenium where he spent his first few years. One day when he was at the age of 10 he was visited by an individual who said he was a Seeker for their Cardinal and asked Eustasius a few questions. The next day he was taken to a compound to train him to hunt the enemies within the Imperium. The training was relentless, mental, physical and spiritual. By 20 he was doing background research for Witchfinders, at 25 he began helping them in the field as a junior. By 32 he was elevated to the rank of Witchfinder by Cardinal Garrick Dolan from the Shrineworld of Roiscant of the Holy Synod of Dalthus.

The specific encounters of his 20 years in the field are irrelevant. He has executed psykers, mutants, heretics and aliens. He has flayed a man in public to hear his sins, he has shot a mother point-blank in the face in front of her children and shouted “Thank The Emperor for your blessings children for I have saved your souls”. The encounter that lost him his arm, leg and shattered his skull was when he shoved a blessed and anointed krak grenade into the gaping maw of a rogue psyker who held him immobile. He killed the psyker but just barely survived himself.

He has always seen his duty being to The Emperor, he serves the Ministorum faithfully, but his loyality has always been first to the Ordo Hereticus, as they work directly for the emperor. This has led him tp be recently recruited by an Inquisitor named Lady Amaranthe.

Inquisitorial Service:

Eustasius has since the age of 10 worked for the Ministorum and the Ordo Hereticus, all his life has been in the service of the Inquisition.

Weaponry:
Stub_gun.jpg

  • Tannhauser IX Pistol

A bulky and intimidating high-capacity stub pistol . Eustasius has several different sanctified, silver and warded bullets for his pistol as well as magnums to more loudly proclaim his anger.

Astartes_Power_Sword2.png

  • Short Heavy Sword (unknown make)

This sword was confiscated from a heretic by Eustasius and spent a 7 days in a chapel where 7 priests anointed it and prayed over it. The weight of it allows Eustasius to cleanly sever body parts during a show-trial or during sentencing and the skull on the hilt helps inspire fear and awe as he waves it around.

  • Combat knives

Eustasius carries combat knives, in his belt, in his boot and strapped to his inside right forearm

Clothing:

Deep red carapace chest plate and arm guards, brown flak pants.

His carapace is unadorned, scuffed and scratched  but clean, on the insides are written holy texts, which Eustasius frequently adds to. His flak pants look common issue, but fit him well.

Under his carapace he wears a light black long sleeve shirt, under his flak pants, light black pants. Over his armor he wears a loose beige colored robe with a voluminous hood, cinched around his waist with a brown leather belt with various pockets and pouches. Under his robe he has a leather harness with his sword strapped to his back, his pistol under his left arm and some smaller pockets under his right arm

Equipment:

  • Sanctified silver spike

This silver spike seems like a part of his left augmetic arm, but is removable.

  • Clips of sanctified and silver ammo

These bullets have been made and blessed by the Dalthian Synod and sit in a small pocket under his right arm.

  • Symbol of Witchfinder status

A leather bound copy with the symbol of the Adeptus Ministorum and a signed copy of Eustasius' warrant of authority

  • The Imperial Creed

A worn and weathered copy of The Imperial Creed sits in one of his pockets

  • Interrogation tools
An assortment of knives, large and small, a hammer, cutters, pliers, chisels and other horrifying tools of the trade

Mementos:

  • Medallion of the Saint of the Swordpoint Stars

A medallion awarded to those who have made the pilgrimage to Roiscant; it depicts the Saint of the Swordpoint Stars, her blade upraised. On the reverse, the Gothic phrase "VINCIT OMNIA FIDELIS".

Artemis Stroud

Artemis.jpg

Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe)
Status: ACTIVE
Divination: "The wise man learns from the deaths of others."

Physical Description
Age: 34
Stroud is tall; though well-built, he is quite thin, with blue eyes and pale skin. Always clean shaven, he keeps his hair short out of preference rather than due to any vanity and is not typically prone to flamboyant appearances.

Personality
-
("He believes the true Arbite can have no friends.")

Prior Life
Rank/Position: Precinct Commander (Meggdon Prime), Adeptus Arbites
Born on the planet of Marovia, Stroud was inducted into the Schola Progenium after the death of his parents in service to the Emperor. There, the harsh life of the Schola forged in Stroud his most crucial weapon - the iron-hard will that has sustained him throughout his life. The Drill-Abbots saw the potential within the young boy and earmarked him as a candidate for the Adeptus Arbites. Stroud served with exemplary diligence and after three years as a junior, he was posted to command a down-hive precinct on the world of Meggdon Prime. He was recognised as a well-educated, inscisive man with both a keen ability to make connections between disaparate points and an excellent sense of character.

On Meggdon Prime, Stroud came to resent the way in which the nobility exploited the down-hivers and broke the Emperor's laws casually - if not contemptuously. Stroud's politically meddlesome investigations led to the fall of three noble houses. Despite being warned to back down, he continued his crusade, culminating in a raid on an unlicensed brothel frequented by the rich sons and daughters of the noble houses. The raid resulted in the deaths of two Arbitrators and four nobles. By the end of the day, another eight had been sentenced to hang. As a 'reward' for his efforts, Stroud was reassigned to the backwater agri-world of Loftus VI, where it was thought he could do no further harm. However, the vessel took him to Hyades, where he was inducted into Septimus Cell.

Weaponry

  • Adeptus Arbites Combat Shotgun
    (18/18) (+36) (+8 'Executioner' Rounds)
An automatic shotgun, fed from a drum magazine. Possesses incredible short-ranged destructive power and a distinctively intimidating racket when fired.
  • Tannhauser-9 Heavy Pistol
    (12/12) (+12/12)
This bulky and intimidating high-capacity pistol is an enviable example of robust and utilitarian design. Fantastically reliable, the Tannhauser will fire true after almost any amount of abuse and mistreatment. This fact is not lost on enforcers, household troops and mercenaries throughout the Dalthus Sector, many of whom will take a "Tann-Nine" as their sidearm. The weapon is tooled and balanced to exact tolerances, making it quite contrallable despite its large calibre for a stub automatic. Despite its size, its excellent design makes it an "easy carry" from shoulder rigs and quick-draw holsters.
  • Shock Maul
A signature weapon of the Adeptus Arbites and Enforcers. Capable of delivering an incapacitating electrical shock, the Maul can also be a deadly combat weapon.
  • Knife
    -

Clothing

  • Arbitrator's Uniform
An imposing suit of light articulated carapace armour made of densely layered plates of armaplas. The suit is fully enclosed and features a comm-bead, respirator and flash-reactive eyepieces built into the helm.
  • Armoured Bodyglove
A form-fitted suit made up of flexible mesh fibre material that tenses when struck to disperse the impact. Additionally, the suit is reinforced with a micro-scale insert of hardened ceramic lamellar plating over vital areas. Wearable under other loose or specially-tailored clothing, the bodyglove is a common choice for bodyguards or anyone who wishes to protect themselves without an overt show of doing so.
  • Flak Vest
A flak armour vest typical of those given to the Imperial Guard. Comprises of several layers of ablative and impact-absorbent material.

Equipment

  • Micro-Bead
A short-range communications device worn in the ear; typically, a micro-bead will have a range of about a kilometre.
  • Injector
    [Stimm] [Stimm] [Stimm]
A sophisticated hypospray device, which administers a dose of a drug through the skin. Each dose must be loaded into the injector. Stimm is a powerful drug that works to mask pain and drive fighters on when their bodies would otherwise give up.
  • Arbitrator ID
A golden badge proclaiming Stroud's membership of the Adeptus Arbites.
  • Manacles
A pair of solid metal restraints.
  • Chronometer
A timepiece worn on the wrist.
  • Pack of Lho-Sticks
    (20/20)
A pack of twenty rolled paper tubes, containing a scented, mildly narcotic (and addictive) plant-derived substance, which is lit and the resulting smoke inhaled through the tube.
  • Glow-Globe
A source of illumination in the darkness. Can provide light for a few hours before being recharged.

Finances
0 Thrones

Mementos

  • A regicide piece, carved from bone (and appearing to have slight traces of blood on it)
The regicide piece is a souvenir from Stroud's first murder scene. It also marks his first time running afoul of Meggdon Prime's noble houses, as the blood on the piece identified the murderer as the spoilt son of a high-hive trader, who amused himself by slaughtering low-born hivers. Artemis had him swiftly arrested and he was eventually executed. He keeps it with him as a reminder that no one is above the Emperor’s law.
  • A Brass Coin

A dull brass coin. Upon it is the skull-and-cog emblem of the Mechanicus. The other side is inlaid with an intricate web of circuitry.

Brye Haygarth
Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe)
Status: ACTIVE
Divination: "Follow the Light of Terra."

Physical Description
Age: 36
Brye is a short woman, as a result of her mother smoking Lho quite heavily while with child - another consequence of her mother’s heavy smoking is Brye’s cleft lip, corrected at an early age by the local medicae. This was paid for by her father although it would be the last thing he did for her. To this day, however, she still produces clicking during speech – an unfortunate remnant of her birth defect.

Atypical of her home world, Brye is fair in complexion and red of hair. Life in the undercrofts of Nova Talia has taken its toll in the form of scars, a missing finger on her right hand and one rather large, rather ruddy (and rather embarrassing) ‘KIL KIL KIL’ tattoo across her collar. Running with the ‘Meeces’ seemed like a good idea in her teens – but these days she would not even consider such foolishness, despite the fond memories. Although her gang days may be behind her, Brye still wears the trademark goggles and chainmail hood from the old gang.

Born a psyker, she spent much of her formative years controlling her powers as best she could… and burning down habs when she could not. While she uses her powers, her eyes will glow like lanterns and a flaming aura will manifest about her head, typically from the appearance of her hair catching ablaze.

Personality
It is difficult to be intimidated by a thirty-five kilo girl, especially one a shade over five foot tall that perpetually shies away from conversing with others. That does not mean to say that Brye cannot hold a conversation or is a bore – it is purely a result of her speech defect and her self-consciousness about it.

After her tenure in the now-defunct juve-gang, Miss Haygarth began taking jobs for money. Anything to keep from starving and staying out in Nova Talia's cold nights. Given her experience in petty criminality in general, Brye was wary of law-enforcement, fearing her past will land her in a penal legion or a spell in the cells. She did not trust the Arbites and was even less enamoured with bounty hunters, even before her capture and subsequent journey to Terra to be soul-bound.

Prior Life
Rank/Position: Psyker, Epsilon Grade
Brye left her mother and her old life behind when her powers first manifested and destroyed part of the Scholam. Although she did not know much, she knew from the tales that her mother told her to scare her that Black Ships come for those who are 'gifted'. Brye did not wish to be taken away to Emperor knows where - which she later learned was actually the mythical Throneworld of Terra - and so she ran. She spent years as one of the gutter-rats, youths with little else except the ability to beg. When she became big enough she joined the 'Meeces' - one of the many juve-gangs rattling around Downtown - until they were shut down by the Arbites during a raid. Brye escaped when the rest either died or were taken away, never to be seen again.

In her efforts to attain a life like the great and the powerful of Nova Talia, Brye took on jobs for all manner of scum. Some were Guild-drifters looking for revenge, others were run-of-the-mill gangsters in need of that little extra oomph in their next raid or hit, and in one particular circumstance an Adept of the Departmento Munitorum required an archive to be immolated. Brye, to not put too fine a point to it, was a mercenary, a contract-killer and a fixer all in one.

Until her capture, Brye feared leaving Nova Talia. Heading out into the greater Imperium filled her with trepidation as much as the sound of being 'soul-bound' did. She would leave Nova Talia an impetuous girl, barely even out of her teens, staring into the abyss that was the galaxy. The journey to Holy Terra and back to the Dalthus Sector would take the better part of fifteen years. Although she had been assigned, nominally, to the 42nd Thornwood Infantry Regiment, she never rendezvoused with the unit. Instead, her past had caught the eye of an interested party...

§ Mars pattern Laspistol

Bought and paid for by her contract earnings, this
laspistol was the oldest, most reliable piece that Old Man Jervin had for sale, and cost Brye a fortune. The fact that Jervin was the only fencer that side of Nova Talia not rotting in a cell probably had something to do with it. The pistol was taken from her when she was captured by the witch-finders, only to be returned anonymously (amongst other items) as she set foot once again in the Dalthus Sector. Who returned it, Brye could only speculate.

1bfa467ff17224a4373326ff87b858d6.jpg

§ Flick Spike

A common sight among the juves and downtowners, flick spikes are easily concealed and useful for picking your teeth with, amongst other things. This particular example was owned by the leader of the ‘Meeces’ until his untimely demise at the hands of an arbiter. Much like the laspistol and her old clothes, she spent fifteen years without it until, one night, a package was handed to her on a crowded street. This particular trinket moved her more than anything else in the past decade...

Clothing

§ Padded leathers and chainmail hood

Soot smeared and patched with tape, Brye’s regular clothing could do with replacing. But, to be fair, her old clothes still fit and they don't itch like the issued robes did. When she was still just a teen Brye earned just enough to live above the poverty line on Nova Talia, however it wasn’t far enough to afford better clothing and feed herself at the same time. What she currently has offers a modicum of protection, but not much.

Equipment

§ Goggles

Yet another hold over from her youthful days with the ‘Meeces’, these goggles, aside from an anti-glare coating, do little more than protect the eyes from dust and wind.

§ Bag of Dice

Tied to her belt is a bag of dice, used off-handedly to predict chance and likelihood. More often, though, they are just used for games to while away time.

§ Wooden Scholam token (Psy Focus)

One of the few items that Brye has had since her days in the Scholam, the wooden token was the first item to hand when her ability to create fire manifested. Used to gain access to the lavatory block, the token was one of the few things that survived her newly awakened powers, unlike the lavatory block...

§ Sanctioning Brand (and gloves)

Stamped on the back of her left hand, Brye has a large - and still painful - brand showing her to be a psyker. She considers it unsightly (even ugly) and wears thin gloves to cover her hands. The gloves do nothing to protect her from the elements.

Mementos

§ Memento

Brye's old equipment and clothing count as mementos.

Nolan Reeve
Affiliation:
Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe)
Status: ACTIVE
Divination: “Truth is subjective.”

Physical Description
Age: 34
Five years with the Harlanite Interior Guard and three years of indentured service in the Penitent 134th  have hardened him to the vagaries of combat and left their marks on both his body and soul. Lean and rangy in stature, Nolan Reeve nevertheless has retained the physical attractiveness that was a major part of his success as a criminal.

Personality
Nolan Reeve possesses a certain rakish charm and pleasant demeanour at odds with his status as a Penal Legionnaire but entirely in line with his past as a confidence trickster and black marketeer. However, this smiling façade covers hidden depths and after three years in a Penal Legion, Reeve is no longer sickened or surprised by the violence and degradation of life in the 41st Millenium.

Prior Life
Rank/Position
: Penal Legionnaire serving with the Penitent 134th
A petty thief, smuggler and confidence trickster born and living on Harlan's World, Nolan Reeve was forcibly 'recruited' to the Imperial Guard during a tithed Founding and found himself enlisted with the Harlanite Interior Guard. Not relishing the prospect of a short but brutal experience on the frontlines, Reeve bent his considerable charm and talents towards ensuring that he would never be posted to a frontline combat unit and instead could profit from the various underground and illicit trading rings that are a natural part of life in the glorious Imperial Guard.

Five years of faked and coerced medical certificates, fabricated paperwork, favours, blackmail, manipulation of Administratum staff and dockets, outright lies and a profitable run in blackmarket trading ensured that Nolan Reeve avoided any frontline combat whatsoever while also accruing a sizable fortune in Imperial crowns and credits. When he was eventually caught by Administratum data-scourges and the Commissariat, it was joked that his standard issue lasrifle had never actually been fired in anger and still bore the trigger stud seal.

Standing trial at a military tribunal, the presiding Commissar-Judge decreed that in an act of karmic justice, the man who had so diligently avoided combat would not be executed but would be exposed to the most immediate horrors of combat in the form of transfer to a Penal Legion. There, it was hoped, Nolan Reeve would learn that duty was a serious weight to carry.

Three years of service in the Penal Legion known as the Penitent 134th has hardened Reeve into a competent killer and removed the boyish and jocular charm that he once possessed. Instead, Nolan Reeve is now as charming as a serpent, and as dangerous as one in the right circumstances.

Inquisitorial Service
Nolan Reeve has never had any previous direct contact with the Inquisition.

Weaponry
The indentured of Reeve's Penal Regiment are issued with a sole sidearm that they are expected to carry at all times, with ammunition being supplied as and when they are deployed. Additional arms such as lasrifles or autoguns are provided if stocks or mission circumstances allow. The standard issue sidearm is the Arrum 9 series combination laspistol, commonly referred to as the Jackal.  The Arrum 9 utilises a cylindrical breech-loaded charge pack for main offensive use and a single-shot hard-round chamber that can use specialist ammunition. These hard-round types were usually issued to fit a mission parameter and could range from incendiary to armour piercing to flechette.

e4b61404-5079-484c-8620-fcedd91df06b_zps

As might be expected of a Penal Legionnaire, Nolan Reeve also possesses a number of handmade blades and is skilled in the preparation and use of improvised weapons. Basic Imperial Guard training has also made him proficient with las and auto rifles.

Clothing
Nolan Reeve originally only possessed his Penal Legion fatigues, however following the trials and inspections he has been subjected to, a wardrobe of conservative everyday civilian clothing has been provided. Reeve shows a preference for light formal suits rather than bodygloves or robes.

Equipment
Nolan Reeve currently only possesses his Jackal and a number of homemade blades. However, he is skilled at acquiring whatever he needs within a short amount of time.

Mementoes
An Ork tooth – a trophy from Reeve’s first deployment with the Penitent 134th against the xenos menace of the Grashkal Tribe. The Orkoid beast in question was responsible for nineteen deaths in Reeve’s unit before it was eventually brought down.

Marked deck of cards – a typical tool of the conman and trickster, this deck of playing cards has been marked so that Reeve is able to manipulate and control seemingly simple games of chance.

Eustasius Maraxus

Affiliation: Septimus Cell (The Lady Amaranthe)

Status: ACTIVE

Divination: “There are no civilians in the battle for survival”

Physical Description:

Age: 46

A tall man with broad shoulders, Maraxus cuts an imposing figure. His dark hair contrasts with pale, rugged features. His dark eyes are wary, while the puckered scar running from forehead to cheekbone is a constant reminder of that one time he wasn't cautious enough.

As both an act of religious dedication and protection, Maraxus has shielded his body against witchcraft by burning or carving hexagrammic sigils into his skin over the course of his life. Only the front of his neck, head, hands, and feet have been spared this treatment.

Maraxus also bears a bionic limb, replacing his left arm that he lost at some point during his training to become a Witchfinder. This appendage has very little in the way of flat surfaces but they are all laser-etched with the same hexagrammic sigils that cover the rest of the man’s flesh. Perhaps because of this and the difficulty of maintaining a bionic limb while on the hunt, the gears and hydraulics in his arm do not work as smoothly as they should, giving Maraxus a hard time when they decide to stop functioning altogether. This is, thank the Emperor, a rare occurrence but has made certain situations even more difficult for the Witchfinder.

Personality:

As is common among hard-line Monodominants, there are no shades of grey for Maraxus; only the black of damnation and heresy, and the white of faith and purity. However, the similarities between him and other Witchfinders end there.

Maraxus is very much a talker, frequently engaging in deep conversations and heated debates with the people around him. His charm and quick wit are the tools he wields with ruthless efficiency to win over the hearts and minds of his companions. In the Witchhunter’s mind, the trust built between him and his prey loosens tongues and lets all sorts of dark secrets and heretical confessions tumble out. Maraxus relishes in drawing out these damning revelations, covertly recording every word, before revealing his true identity and dispensing the Emperor’s Mercy with a well-aimed bullet to the head.

Prior Life:

Rank/Position: Witchfinder (Sanctioned by Cardinal Garrick Dolan from the Shrineworld of Roiscant of the Dalthan Synod)

Taken away from his family at a young age, Maraxus was raised in a secluded Ecclesiarchy monastery among a group of other youths. All of those selected showed signs of deep-rooted religious devotion and single-minded dedication towards any task they undertook; all had also gone through the trauma of being forcefully taken from their families. However, thoughts of their loved ones were quickly replaced by the instinctive drive to survive as they were put through brutal physical and psychological training that was designed to do weed out the weak-willed and unworthy candidates. It also helped in honing the remaining candidates’ senses and skills to a level beyond what anyone would expect of such young men and women. This punishing training was interrupted at frequent but irregular intervals by days of religious studies, oecumenical debates, fasting, and deep prayer.

A few scant years after attaining adulthood, Maraxus and a handful of his companions were elevated to the rank of Witchfinder by representatives of Cardinal Garrick Dolan. The solemn ceremony was carried out in the main cathedral of Roiscant and witnessed by thousands of faithful pilgrims and members of the Ecclesiarchy. Invested with the authority of the Adeptus Ministorum, the hunters were dispersed across the sector, each pursuing their own quests to uncover heresy and witchcraft.

Maraxus started his hunt out in the Border Worlds, believing that he would uncover a hell-hole of taint and heresy in that far-flung region of the Dalthus Sector. Never had the Witchfinder been so right. The next two decades of his life were dedicated to investigating a plethora of heresies; claims of a thriving psyker trade on Jeriko, the corruption of an Ecclesiarchy Abbot and his flock of faithful on the isolated world of Tobray, and death-cult members disguising themselves as pilgrims and causing havoc in and around the Grand Cathedral of Torfan are just a few of these cases that Maraxus dealt with.

After executing the self-appointed Wyk-Queen of Cordova, thus repaying her for the scar she had dealt him, Maraxus followed the trail of a handful of her surviving followers back to the Hyades sub-sector where during the course of his hunt he came under the scrutiny of the Inquisition and found himself appointed to the service of a member of the Holy Ordos.

Inquisitorial Service:

None before coming into the service of Lady Amaranthe in 911.M41.

Weaponry:

Orgon-Meletusa Mk XVII-a Pistol

A semi-automatic stub gun manufactured outside of the sector, on the distant Hive World of Banth Prime, it shoots large man-stopper rounds which are spring-loaded into a magazine inside the grip. A regular-sized magazine holds ten rounds while compact versions of the pistol (Mk XVII-cool.png only have space for a short magazine containing six rounds and extended magazines can hold up to sixteen bullets. This is Maraxus’ favoured firearm for his executions due to its low velocity and high calibre, making a mess of any witch’s cranium.

Combat knife

Maraxus always has a standard-issue combat knife concealed in his high boots.

Clothing:

A thick cotton shirt and pale breeches as underwear. A chainmail jacket, impressed with a purity seal over the chest are and held around the waist by a thick brown leather belt, and black flak trousers go over the previous items of clothing. A long, black, hooded, leather coat with gold trim acts as an overall, shielding Maraxus’ body from the worst of the weather.

Equipment:

Sanctified silver spike

A third of a metre long, always carried attached to his leather belt, hidden from view.

Two extra full Orgon-Meletusa Mk XVII-a magazines

Just in case words fail or there is an extra handful of heretics to deal with.

Dalthean Witchfinder badge

A heavy silver symbol representing the “I” of the Adeptus Ministorum with elements of Dalthan Ecclesiarchy iconography and a flaming sword in the section below the haloed skull. Attached to chain and constantly worn around Maraxus’ neck to act as a reminder of the burden of his holy duty.

The Holy Writ of the Adeptus Ministorum Dalthus

A first edition copy of the Dalthan Imperial Creed.

Hip pouch

A sturdy leather bag that attaches to his belt in which carries various supplies in its numerous sections, such as dry rations, a small water bottle, a very basic first aid kit, and various notebooks filled with his own tightly-written script.

Mementos:

Medallion of the Saint of the Swordpoint Stars

A medallion awarded to those who have made the pilgrimage to Roiscant; it depicts the Saint of the Swordpoint Stars, her blade upraised. On the reverse, the Gothic phrase "VINCIT OMNIA FIDELIS".

"There is no enemy. The foe on the battlefield is merely the manifestation of that which we must overcome. He is doubt, and fear, and despair.

Every battle is fought within. Conquer the battlefield that lies inside you, and the enemy disappears like the illusion he is."

Inquisitorial_Seal_2.png

Uncovered during the investigation
Night cycle considered particularly dangerous- Unknown entities called "red-Eyes" stalk the night time streets and abduct people according to local lore- Origin appears to be gaping hole inthe NW of the Barrens since black-out fires occurred.

Little to no Enforcer presence- Locals claim that the Locals are associated with the "Red-Eyes" and any people who complain too loudly about the balck-outs or Red-Eyes are dealt with by the Enforcers.

List of Contacts

Luntz- Local Crime Figure- Based out of the Worker's Union- afraid to let his men outside after nightfall due the "Red-Eyes"- Offered to hire us to kill the "Techno-bitch"- associated with larger syndicate of Narco-barons.

Sikes- proprieter of Sike's Yard- Local fixer- Hires abhumans-

Maxis- Hostel Owner- Obscura user- in the employ of Luntz as a snitch- low-level and weak-willed

Edvard Zed- Drunkard- associate of Findus Vigg- indicated last known location of Findus was the Alm's House

Fabian- Priest of the Templum in the Barrens- Threadbare clothing

Potential Fatalities

Necros Varrin- Member of Septimus Cell, Inquisition- Killed by mechanical construct employed by the Techno-bitch.

"Techno-Bitch"- True Identity unknown- Supplied Narco to Luntz and higher ranking Techno-barons- Chirugeon skills-Vinculist(?)- responsible for the replacement of the Enforcers- Current enforcers most likely under her orders-  Believed dead in the final confrontation in the Alm's House.

Warden Locan- Local Enforcer- Warned Elspeth from reporting Findus's disappearance to the other Enforcers- Inidication from interview with Locan is that current enforcers have recently been changed- Previous enforcers presumed dead- Replacements are unknown- warden secretly provided us a document that beared the crest of the Hyronian Cartel- Killed by the Techno-bitch during the final confrontation in the Alm's House

Sibas Moran- Director of the Alm's House- Adept- Elderly man (greying hair and lined face)- associate of the Techno-bitch-  Dead, suicide, self-inflicted poisoning.

Athen
Grevan

Surviving Suspects

Trazor- false Enforcer-

Red-Eyes
The so called "Red-Eyes" are surgically modified humans.  The reason for these modifiecatiosn are unknown, and the willingness of the recipient to undergo the procedure is in question.  The process seems to use Maltek.  This Maltek includes pipework, bionic implants, and a stitched shut mask.  The former human's skin turns waxen and their muscles twitch and visibly move beneath the skin.  The movments are rythmic, but unnatural.  Breathing was faint and rattling.  Also, the bionics made whirring and clicking noises.

Enhancements: Not clearly known.  Enclosed is a partial lis tof observations:
-Ability to ignore significant las-weapon and auto-gun damage.
-Enhanced strength
-Resistance to stun weaponry, but not immunity

Test have established that the "Red Eyes" have been subjected to processes similar to those used in the creation of servitors or arco-flagellants. The spines, brainstems and nervous systems of these unfortunates have been laced with the same synthetic tissue discovered in Findus Vigg's body. Their capacity to feel pain has been severely diminished. These creatures are little more than attack dogs or mindless servants. You can affirm Brandt's original assertions that whoever performed these operations possesses no small amount of skill.

Red-Eyes encountered wielded only crude blades.

Numbers encountered during investigation: 2

Current-
Access out of the Barrens closed.

Information from Evard Zed, Warden Locan, Luntz and Sike's appears to indicate that the Alm's House is connected to the disappearances, and the appearance of the RED-Eyes in this area of the Barrens.  This has been confirmed.
