My FLGS has a temping offer available: Imperial Knights Renegade is on sale for less than the cost of an Imperial Knight boxset (specifically, the more expensive one). Now, I know very little of the world of Imperial Knights, so I have a couple questions. Can I build a Knight Crusader from the set? This review says I can, but it's s little ambiguous. The review may be meaning that I can't build two Crusaders, but I'm unsure. Are the rules for the Knight Crusader found in the Codex, or are they a separate datasheet from somewhere else? Brother Tyler Posted July 2, 2016 Share Posted July 2, 2016 Imperial Knights: Renegade comes with the full sprues for 1 Imperial Knight Warden (so yes, you can build a Crusader) and 1 Imperial Knight Errant. You actually have a lot of flexibility between the two sets to build a variety of Knights. You'll still need the Imperial Knights codex, though the datasheet for the Renegade is pretty close to its Imperial counterpart. Everything renegade is conveyed via decals, painting, and converting. Cleon Posted July 2, 2016 Share Posted July 2, 2016 The only thing not amazing about the renegade box is the tiny decal sheet, but for the price it'd be petty to hold that against it. The FLGS ran out of Imperial Knights: Renegade boxes, but offered to sell the separate boxes of Knights it normally contains at the same price. I am now a proud owner of an Imperial Knight and an Imperial Knight Warden! The only question that remains is whether I want them to be Freeblades or from the same Household. I've been so tempted with the Renegade box, I just can't justify the cost at this time whatsoever. Did you find out if you're able to make more than one of the carapace mounted weapon options - or are the weapon choicess all fixed to a mount that comes as a one-of on the sprue?
