iOS game.

Battlefleet Gothic: Leviathan by Grand Cauldron

Blood Angels Imperium vs Tyranids Campaign but skirmish also available with Imperium vs Imperium.

Various classes and sub classes of ships available. Control battle groups of them.

Turn based but free space - no hexes or tiles. Set Power (I.e. Move) and Heading (I.e. Turn) to get Firing Arcs on enemy.

Combat is a matter of selecting Weapons that are in the appropriate Arcs to target the enemy and then rolling 'dice' to hit and damage. Weapons range from Lances, Batteries, Torpedoes, Attack Craft, Boarding Craft, and some of the more unique Nova / Hell Cannons, etc.

I believe PC has its own BFG game that's similar but not exactly the same.

Any chance we can get some information for this thread? Otherwise it will be locked within the hour as we don't do placeholders.

Game rules are simple, graphics are simple but strategy seems deep.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to keep my broadsides pointed to the enemy while manuevering numerous ships around and trying to avoid explosions, debris, fighters, etc.

Also weapons like Torpedoes have travel time, so trying to anticipate where enemy ships will move to, etc.

Then when shields are weak on one side, trying to get the other side around to face the enemy.

There are also decisions to make like ship orders like making double maneuvers at the expense of shooting, reloading the main weapon, etc. and whether to brace / overcharge shields when fired on at the expense of firing later, etc.

So just like the board game then eh?

One thing I read is that they tried to emulate the board game as much as possible, and get it as close as possible to "Battlefleet Gothic Video Game", and while the Armada game comes somewhat close, they are much farther from the TTG than this little game is, it seems.

Will they release it for a decent platform too?

Well, we already have BFG Armada on a decent platform. Do we need another one? First is excellent as it is.

Does anybody know if this has a single player skirmish mode?

Yes it does.

Imperium, Space Marines, Tyranids.

Set point limit, pick ships, fight.

I guessed this was Armada...

It's crazy how much crap GW let SHs put on the market to get the money to save the year...

I doubt GW needs to save anything this year. From what I noticed they are doing just fine, especially with the recent popularity boost of AoS. Besides, this game seems quite alright ;) Edited by Immersturm

The "biost" of AoS i guess it's due to WHFB players that get all miniatures they can fearing their armies will end like Bretonnia or Khemri... :P

This year they are not doing fine... The physical sells are still lowering and the boost comes from the rights sold to third parties...

Love the game. Chaos and Eldar would be great.

Am losing badly in the Campaign though, I guess I'm not a very good Battlefleet Commander, hah.

MODS - Can probably move this whole thread to Other Games now.

In campaign battles, even though I'm winning, I always run out of time then the battle ends and both my Fleet and the Tyranid fleet get wiped.

You mean the turn limit? Yeah. I have the same issue. I've started taking a lot more torpedo ships because of the fast work they do. I think the challenge curve is pretty good, but having never played the TT game I feel like there's a lot to learn.
