Hi guys, 

 

So I've been wanting to create a suitable "rule of cool" bodyguard for Vulkan, purely aesthetic shelf stacking badassery set of models. 

 

Now I've read all of the sources on the Pyre Guard, as far as I am aware. I've collated the below list of wargear so I can make them as faithful to the fluff as possible. I'd love to know if I've mad any mistakes and if anyone can fill out the gaps!

 

It's primarily the weapons I want to get correct, but if you have any distinguishing ideas on armour detailing.

 

Artellus Numeon - Primarch's Equerry. This guy is fairly well described:

Weapon: Power halberd with volkite attachment. 

Armour: Drakefangs lining the side of the helmet. 

 

Leodrakk

Weapon - Power Maul

Armour - One drake-horn

 

Skatar-Var 

Weapon - Power maul

Armour - The other drake horn, shared with Leodrakk.

 

Atanarius

Weapon - Double bladed power sword - now does this mean a Dath Maul style sword?? 

Armour - unsure

 

Ganne

Weapon & Armour - ? He seems to do a lot of fist flexing and is described as pugnacious, so perhaps some sort of powerfist combo? He's described as having a blade in Promethean Sun. 

 

Varrun 

Weapon - Some sort of delicious rilfe? He's described as an older, wiser and shootier Pyre Guard. He uses a gladius in Promethean sun so the Sternguard kit with the one hand on the scabbard sword could go well

 

Igataron - no idea. He's described as having a blade.

 

If anyone has any further sources to help me complete the list? Also any suggestions from whence I can buy custom bitz for parts would be welcome.

Perhaps a combat blade and powerfist for Ganne? A blade can also mean an axe, and that'd also work well for a "pugnacious" warrior.

 

I'm keen to see what you come up with.

 

A fine idea. Powerfist and a dagger or a poweaxe, I'll see what looks cooler. 

 

Here's my firsd two. Leodrakk and Skatar'var. I tried to be as faithful to the fluff as possible so power mauls, the horn of their shared Drake and phobos pattern bolt pistols because Salamanders love phobos pattern bolter weapons:

I have the FW transfer sheet so rather than go for an ornate pad I went with blank so I can try out a transfer. 

 

Up next, I think I have sufficient bits for Ganne and Atanarius. Varrun should be the easiest, but I'm at a loss for Igataron though. 

 

Edit: Ok I realise I've used the wrong leg/torso for one of them. They should both have dragon chest emblems. I thought to give them matching armour symbols to denote the fact they're blood brothers rather than just legion brothers.

Good grief, triple post, but then I'd love to see this happen. Will all the guys have Mk IV helmets? It's just that I've always felt the Sarum/Mk V/World Eater pattern is fairly pugnacious, and Varrun's veteran status could be conveyed with a Mk II/III helm
