OMG's "Problem Children" Leviathan Dread

Hail fellow Legionaries!

Before more talk - the eye candy (which is much more candy like than normal):

First off, why pink?

I posted some test models a (long) ways back but the, "Problem Children" are AoD EC as they were transitioning into the Long War and getting into their new Chaos endued fashion sense.

Second off, what kind of army?

I'm bound for the Las Vegas Open in Feb next year which may actually give me enough time to paint up 2.5K points and get in a few trial games.  Despite recent changes to pods, I'm sticking with (jumpless) Eidolon and the Orbital Assault RoW.  As of now, I'm 18% complete with my current list.

Third off, comments welcome.

I don't have Internet time like I once did but I'll swing by from time-to-time, join in on the gaming discussions and post some model pics.  Looking forward to getting back in contact with everyone here at the B&C.

Cheers!  -OMG

I think it's absolutely brilliant.

Reminds me of the paint schemes I'd see in some Mid 90s mecha animes :-)

Are you participating in the 30k event?

Brave... very brave (please be sober when you give this one a name!).  But you know what ?  I weirdly kinda like.  You did an awesome job with the base and getting pink to work!

Look forward to seeing a tabletop full of eye 'candy' :)

Peptobismol pink... or candy striper (old slang for nurse when their uniforms used to be like that)

Lol

Honestly it looks really good tho, great job.

It's a shame pink and purple have a weird connotation (to some folks anyhow) because they are some vivid and effective colors... (please note that in my opinion, being ironic and wearing pink is equally as silly as avoiding wearing pink because it is girly)

Thanks.

Are you participating in the 30k event?

Yes - I'm signed up for both 30K events (they added a narrative "mega battle" this time along with the tourney) and really looking forward to them both.

Here's the link to the events page: https://lasvegasopen.squarespace.com/home-1/

@Canadian_F_H: Yes, I was worried that they would look a bit like "easter egg" marines but I just needed to emphasize the marine part.

@The Psycho: Yes, that's just where you've seen these pics before.  ;)  Cheers!

Seriously it reminds me of a piece of hard candy, pink with white stripes. I really like it :D Great paintjob, it's not often I see pink marines.

Very impressive painting. Pink does not look like an easy colour to paint, but you have pulled it off wonderfully. Especially like the white stripes added in their, breaks it up nicely.

Thanks again all for your comments.  I played the model for the first time over the weekend (does anyone else here believe in the, "curse of the new model?) and the other players dubbed it the color of pepto bismol.  Moving forward I'm going to claim re-rolls against any gastrointestinal attacks.

The pink looks great. Can we have a recipe?

Really the recipe reads right out of Citadel's catalog; Emperor's Children (pink; go figure), with Pink Horror and Screamer Pink low lights and Fulgrim Pink highlights (go figure x2) plus Carroburg Chrimson washes to add some depth.  I think it's more the application that helps give it more a military feel vs. a robot antagonist from an episode of the powerpuff girls.

As stated, I'm only 18% done with my 2,500 pt list and the new red book has given me lots of new options to consider.  And IF the Anvilus Dreadclaw actually DOESN'T have intertial guidance I want FW to refund my purchase for three of them (no matter where the pound is vs. the $).  Regardless, I'll be posting more as I make progress.

Cheers! -OMG
