Before Raktra was discovered on Uran, the VIIth Legion were warriors of a very different kind. Dubbed the Shepherds of Eden, they were among the most virtuous of Mankind's heroes, fighting to protect human life wherever possible. In a cruel twist, however, upon being united with their gene-sire, both parties found each other abhorrent.

The Shepherds endured a purgatorial existence, blackening their armour and having the name Berserkers of Uran thrust upon them. Miserably they trudged in the bloody footsteps of Raktra's true sons, watching their once beloved Legion become a byword for cruelty.

Yet this did not last, due to the defiance of a Shepherd named Khârn. The circumstances are not spoken of outside the Legion, but the Shepherds broke away from the VIIth and, championed by a number of Raktra's brother Primarchs, were granted the status of a small, auxiliary Legion. Revitalised, they again carved themselves a place in the annals of the Great Crusade, though always wary of Raktra's hatred. However, they never guessed at the events that would split the Imperium asunder, and give the Ashen King the chance he yearned for, to crush his bastard sons once and for all.

OHHHH! I like the sound of that! very angelic in nature.

Alas, regular painter doesn't do white, so I've done what I can:

 

Gold = #bf9d04

 

I believe their alliances are thus:

Battle Brothers with the Iron Bears, Halcyon Wardens, Scions Hospitalier, Wardens of Light and Imperial Army

Fellow Warriors with the Crimson Lions, Godslayers, Lightning Bearers, Warbringers, Warriors of Peace and The Fire Keepers

Distrusted Allies with the Grave Stalkers, Void Eagles, Stygian Jackals and The Drowned

White is very easy, I did a squad of whitescar jetbikes in 30 minutes for the white, all shaded etc. Just gotta basecoat white, wash, clean, drybrrush white and donee

What do you mean it doesn't do white: that chest Imperialis is white!

 

I'm afraid that white in light gold won't provide much contrast, I'd go with a much darker gold if I were you.

I like the gold and bone combo I'd say keep it light; what if for contrast their markings were in a rich cobalt or ultramarine blue? That would really pop.

How about a pale sky blue?

From what I remember, I would suggest that they were distrusted allies with the Predators as well.

Only the dark blue eyes won't fit for me. Maybe ice blue? Or fenrisian blue?

Not proper ones, unless you count the RoW I put in Vyrn's special rules. I'll screw around with some ideas at work tomorrow.

Hmmm, it is a rule or better a rite of war for the Wardens, but maybe similar.

No needless slaughter: If the Shepards decline a challenge, they don't suffer from any negative sideeffect. Maybe it could be something like that

That challenge idea is already a rule for the WoP Iron Monks unit, fyi.

Well the wardens exist longer

But it is for the whole wardens a rite of war limiting assault units. So that doesn't necessarily conflict with each other.

Here is the rite of war:
Paragonof peace/ peace of light/ light of peace: The Wardens of Light don't have to accept and challenger nor can they chLlenge an enemy unit/Character. They gain stubborn and don't suffer the negative side effects for declining a challenge. (For Every unit not involved in CC you gain a VP. For Every unit who was involved you lose 1vp)

I thought of adding a restriction to assault units to give it some extra beef^^
