Does Diabolist grant Preffered enemy (loyalist) to the unit?

A simple question: Does Word bearers special Consul - Diabolist confers Preffered enemy (loyalist) to the close combat attack of a unit he joins?

I always thought that only he has the rule (and thus is useless) but after re-reading core rules I'm not so sure.

Yes. And preferred enemy (x) works for Shooting AND Melee.

That said, if you're running Dark Brethren, all of your IC's get the rule anyways.

Hmm, yeah might just work for their CC Attacks with the Diabolist then.

But, if you're rolling Dark Brethren, all your IC's gain PE(L) that applies to shooting and CC.

No, he does not transfer the rule, because he doesnt have it himself. The rule is applied to his melee attack.

It's a case of "as if" conditioning.

Hmm I suppose you're right.

Seems like an excellent case of FW crazy wording - though it could be intentional!
