I've been playing around with a fluffy Salamanders list using the Covenant of Fire right of war and I'd appreciate some feedback on it.

     Armored Ceramite

Daredeo Dreadnought(240)

So basically, the support squad rides in the heavy support proteus, the praetor rides with the terminators, and I start turn 1 with 3 land raiders, 3 dreadnoughts, and 2 tactical squads on the board.  I like to think this would capture the tough, hardened nature of the Salamanders as they march across the board melting and torching everything as they go, while the daredeos provide fire support and anti-air.  Beefy enough?  Leave your thoughts please!

The Preator cant ride with the Terminators due to 10 Transport Slots in the LR Phobos. This isnt 40k with the Crusader and Redeemer with 16/12 slots respectively.  You've got 10 with the Proteus and Phobos, 8 with EAW Proteus, 25 With Spartan and then the Flyers/Pods. Also, why not make use of the Paragon Blade being an At-Initiative Ap2 Weapon with possible ID?

So thats got to change if you want them together.

Next, I question why you're paying for the extra TLHB on the Proteus Land Raiders you're bringing. Why not pay a bit more and get a TLLC if at all?

With 2 Deredeo's you don't need a Contemptor Mortis. You can probably spend the points better like on a Cortus or Prime. The Deredeos probably also don't need Armoured Ceramite. If they're close enough to be in Melta Range, they're probably in your rear armour of 11 (or whatever) and AC or no, thats not changing much.

Thanks for pointing all of that out for me!  So would I be better off:

1.  Taking a paragon blade with my Praetor

2.  Taking a Spartan with ceramite, flare shield, and multimelta for the termies

3.  Taking lascannons for the proteus land raiders, instead of heavy bolters

4.  Removing ceramite from the daredeos

5.  Remove the Contemptor Mortis

6.  Taking 3 extra pyroclasts
