The Lost Cartographers

Really irritated right now because the forum and my wifi conspired to eat my first post and not bother saving it, so excuse me if I'm blunt. I had this whole intro story and everything!

Some Notes

- The Lost Cartographers were the 11th legion, and were originally known as the Emperor's Zephyrs because they were the first into battle and the first to leave. They were considered cowards by the siege-based legions (Death Guard and Iron Warriors) due to their rapid  deep strike assaults instead of grueling assaults.

- Their Primarch ĺroas crash landed on the planet of Gravitis, which had expanded into a system-spanning democracy. He was found by a lesser governor by the name of Lýteros, and raised as his son. As a child he was very adventurous, and often got into trouble. He became known across the system when on his 14th birthday, the day he would officially become a man, a chaos rebellion rose and attacked. He personally slayed dozens of cultists and eliminated the leader of the rebellion. His greatest test during that battle was against the Daemon Prince Skotádi. He emerged victorious, but very wounded. ĺroas was lauded as a hero of Gravitis and his father became the new head governor. As it happened, the Emperor was passing through the system and heard of the legendary warrior who defeated the cultists. Upon the sight of his true father, the Primarch knew he was a man of great power, but wished to test him. To that effect, ĺroas challenged the Emperor to a simple foot race. For most of the race, it seemed ĺroas would win, but at the last moment his strength failed him and he collapsed. In a stupor, the young Primarch swore loyalty to the man who taught him his limits.

- Upon returning to his legion, ĺroas pushed the concept of rapid strikes in the Emperor's Zephyrs even further, even requisition the help of Perturabo, one of the primarchs who hated him the most, in creating a new suit of Terminator armor that allowed the wearer to break the limits of speed with that much weight, known as Mercury-pattern.

- ĺroas believed in the best in all, even the more brutal primarchs such as Angron. In fact, whenever Angron went too far, ĺroas was the first to come to his defense, believing the Primarch could not help himself.

- At approximately the time Sanguinius was found, ĺroas and his legion found himself face to face with Eldar Corsairs. While in combat with a Warlock, some kind of hex was placed on him to "poison all those around him". The Eldar Corsairs escaped, and ĺroas thought nothing of it. It was only when it was discovered the minds of anyone who gazed upon a member of the Emperor's Zephyrs slowly went insane. The Primarchs and most Astartes were fine, but many of the Solar Auxilia or Imperial Militia that fought beside him went insane. Eventually, enough was enough, and the Emperor came to see Víosgi. At this point, Icarion and his legion had already been purged, so ĺroas was prepared to die with his legion. To his surprise however, the Emperor simply told him to take the inhabitants of his planet (who for some reason were unaffected by the curse), his legion, and all the support staff he would need (servitors operated remotely of course) and get out of the Imperium. They would be the forward scouts, sending information back to the Emperor and Malcador. This was shortly before the Salamanders were deployed to Istvaan...and no one would hear of the Emperor's Zephyrs, now the Lost Cartographers, again.

Legiones Astartes (Lost Cartographers)

Units with this special rule may always attempt to regroup at its normal leadership value, regardless of casualties.

Fringe Elements: All units with this special rule have the Scout special rule, and may re-roll the result of table edge when outflanking.

Last of their Legion: If a force using a Warlord with this special rule ever loses half their units rounding up, all units with this special rule must immediately take a leadership test at the start of each turn or immediately be removed from play.

Any unit with the Legiones Astartes (Lost Cartographers) special rule in Tartaros Terminator armor may upgrade it to Mercury Terminator armor for 5 points a model. Mercury Terminator armor provides a 3+/5++ Armor Save and provides the Relentless, Crusader, Fleet, and Bulky special rules and may make Sweeping Advances.

Any model with the Legiones Astartes (Lost Cartographers) special rule and a power fist as part of their wargear may replace it with a power claymore for free, and any model with access to power fists as part of their options may instead take a power claymore at the same cost. A power claymore has the following profile:

Range/S/AP/Type

-/U+2/3/Melee, Two-handed, Heavy Strike

Heavy Strike: A model equipped with a weapon with this special rule may trade all their attacks for a single one at I1. This attack is resolved with the normal profile, but causes Instant Death.

Wow, many lost legions are turning up these days^^. You should consider to combine your atempts and create an alternate universe^^

Nice start but your rules are a bit uhm....well....a lot over the top. Mercury for free for Tartaros? The claymores are underpriced.

And you should rethink the descriptiin dark eldar. Eldar pirates yes, dark eldar? No

He ho, moi again. You could make the kingslayer.ap2. I think most of canonprimarch weapons are ap2 and botl primarchs too.

Not sure, but he could be overcosted. We have a somewhat points calculator over at the botl. It is not totally accurate but it helps gicing primarchs points..so maybe you wanna try? I see him more in the 350-375 range atm.
