@ Uveron: Congrats on the finish! Nice work there, bro. I'm continually impressed with the atmosphere you're able to convey in your models. Also: excellent work on the Scion heads msn-wink.gif Would you be so kind as to name one of the miniatures in my vow? Preferable a biker of VII Squad, and preferably today (so I can post fluff along with their completion) msn-wink.gif

Yes, The Scion Heads work great on the Scouts. I recall you had some success with them as well, I wasnt sure who the first person to come up with the conversion was so I didnt credit anyone with the inspiration. (JeffTibbetts had a photoshop version of one in 2014) anyway....

Naming a Model, I love the ideas of having fellows online name models... I shall PM you some Idears

Funnily enough I built my Crimson Shrike Scouts with Scion heads, but I totally don't think I was the first! They do look great on the Scout bodies though.

Cheers! I'm looking forward to the naming ideas. Just comment them here, btw. I'll pick one and probably slightly alter it anyway :) Make sure you pick an open spot from the list, though! Also, I wasn't implying I was the first! :) Just acknowledging tat the conversion is just so cool, which is why I did them too. I actually wonder who was the first.... Jeff?

Well, Ok then!

VIII Assault Biker Squad- Comms Specialist - Sierad Gault I think that sounds Germanic..

As for the Scout conversions, there were conversations about the use of the Scion head before the models were on sale, Jeff has the first image of what it would look like (based on some googleing)

Now lessee if I could manage something else. I'm on a roll again, and properly motivated too. :D

Augustus: (See, I didn't forget you this time. ;)) New Captain looks sweet (as do all the bikers, too, of course!) Congratulations on completion, and hope to see a revow! Praying and hoping that your back sorts itself out a bit. :)

SW1: Congratulations on the completion mate! Love what you've done with these guys, especially the Inquisitor: reminds me quite a bit of JackDaw's style of modeling and painting. :tu:

Uveron, I'll be sure to send a name your way soon. Just need to come up with something suitable. :)

Now, time to go and work on I Seeker. I've neglected them far too long.

Psyco - Thanks for the comment. It's funny you mentioned JackDaw's stuff as I'd love to be able to do gs'ing as well.

Augustus - I quite like the sound of Stefan Schläger. Maybe one of the bikers if ones left?

Excellent work so far, brothers! :tu:

I did some painting last night but nothing worth showing for the moment. Once the armour is done on the Fulmentarus I'll post a picture up (so probably on Sunday). In the meantime, gotta re-jig my list to make it more "Calth-y".

If anyone has any ideas about nicknames for the Priests feel free to let me know.

Not sure on direction yet of the naming but thinking of a more tongue in cheek style. Maybe call the group of Priests something like "The Rev'rends"?

Lol ... You can sure here them coming with the sound of their raucous guttural hymns and the throaty throb of their choppers.

Maybe naming more in line to gang names than actual names? Really want names that make you wonder what they did to get them or names so plain because no one dares to give them a monicker.

@ Uveron: Thanks buddy! They were a joy to paint smile.png

@ SW1: Thanks for the name - he's now a biker (I did 40Kified his name a little bit). About your squad: I love how simple yet incredibly effective those conversions are. Seeing them, it looks so obvious to give those flaggelants chainsword endings to make them into the priests. About the inquisitor: How about Gunnar Han'sen for his name? Gunnar Hansen is the actor who played Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre films. Quite a propos, don't you think?

@ The Psycho: Yay! Thanks buddy! Lemme think about a revow. It has to be something that I can complete this October, no?

@ Kurama: That's a pretty bag of resin, there, buddy. How's about a name for my army? There's still a spot left in VIII Biker Assault Squad. msn-wink.gif

@ Dosjetka: I am looking forward to that Fulmentarus - what did you use for the Cyclone Missile Launcher? I am a big fan of the Anvil Industry Launcher, myself.

Yeah, that's the idea. If you can't, that's no problem but it would be awesome if you could!

I do have an idea for a Priest's name, SW1, but it's so laughably bad you probably don't want to use it. I've put it in hidden tags because it's so bad, but it's sorta funny, I guess, so here it is:

Rippan Tare

Yeah... to be fair, it's almost 1 in the morning, so I'm not really operating at full mental capacity.

Kurama, that looks sweet. Looking forward to seeing it all painted.

Augustus - The Inquisitor is already named but I'll use that name for the main Priest who's part of the Inquisitors inner circle. The Rev'rends will be one of his assets. ;)

Hmmm ... Just thinking about them as an asset is getting the writing muse going. :p

The existing fluff for the Inquisitor can be found here:

Is this any better?

2nd draft ...

Watching the ghost-pics Maximoze noticed a flash of something glinting behind him. "Could you make that armour any more conspicuous brother?"

Just a faint sound emitted from the younger Inquisitors throat. Was it frustration or embarrassment?

Maximoze didn't care which, he'd spent too long hunting this heretic to have some young fool spoil everything flashing his rosette around making himself a big target in his overly polished armour.

Chuckling to himself as the thought of using the whelp as a diversion to the real task crossed his mind.

Someone was playing political games making him bring this one along. Though at least this time they had the decency of getting him to introduce himself beforehand. It beat having an amateur trying to trail him and getting in the way.

I really must look into who keeps sending these colleagues along to help at some point, he mused.

Now what's his name?

Hmmm ... Maybe I'll bother to learn it if he makes it through the next few days alive.

Realising he'd got lost in his own thoughts again, Maximoze pulled himself up out of the beaten old chair and walked over to his fellow Inquisitor.

Placing an understanding hand on his shoulder Maximoze tried his best fatherly look. From the look on the other Inquisitors face it wasn't working.

"While I encourage your zeal brother may I recommend a little forethought. While it can be good for your ego flashing that rosette about, it doesn't always have the intended effect."

"Take our current quarry. He's got eyes everywhere figuratively and some say quite literally as well." Pointing back to the feeds still playing in the background. "Now if I let you go and smash those Goons with that big hammer of yours shouting "Heretic!!!", what do you think will happen to their leader? How long have I been after him?"

Still no sound emits from the other Inquisitors throat. But his face says it all as he realises maybe the teachings he held in such reverence were flawed.

"Don't worry about it, I knew your mentor well. Hearts in the right place ... but ... well ... let's just say she had less charm than a Catachan Devil." Maximoze attempted to smile, it just looked like a less severe frown thanks to the skin grafts still healing. "I'm sure your fancy weapon and those servitors will come in handy when the real fighting happens. But for now let me demonstrate how a little finesse and subterfuge can get me into the heart of the vipers nest."

Realising he risked demoralising the lad he tapped the head of the hammer with his foot. "I'll need you to be ready to smash things a little later though so don't get any ideas about ditching that hardware. My life and that of this whole planet may rely on the Inquisition making an overtly grand appearance tomorrow."

"Ahh ... Now I get it!" The other Inquisitor replies feeling a bit better about himself. "It's so much easier to apply the scalpel when everyone is looking the other way."

"Yes my lad." Maximoze sighs, maybe he'll last a bit longer than I first thought.

Psycho - I might just have to use that name but over 2 models. Have them as brothers? :D

@ Psycho: Duuuuuude that's sooooo bad! I lvoe it! laugh.png

I know, right? It's laughable, and a horrid pun, but it's still a glorious reference to the best (and worst) comic book of the mid-90s.

In fact, perhaps if SW1 isn't interested in using it, I'll take it for a World Eaters Champion or something... I dunno.

I'll give it a little twist but consider it used. ;) :p
