The tactical guy is awesome, lots of character. But is that a macharius turret I see?

By gosh I think it is! I freaking love the macharius as a model and plan on adding one to my army sooner than later. Eager for updates!

I'll save you the dissapointment: it's a baneblade turret with the megabolter from the stormlord.

Maarten is correct in definition but not in assumption... at least I'm not disappointed;) had the macharius for a few years, LOVE the model but was never satisfied with its ROI.

This beauty 'Tis my APoC ready VDR'd Dakkalord for urban domination.

Interesting. Would you say the turret would scale properly with a macharius hull? Im curious as I would like to purchase the vanquisher but the vulkan has rules that are hard to look by. If the conversion work isnt to much and the turret scales properly I may just have to steal the idea on that conversion so I can swap tank loadouts. Exactly what lengths did you have to go to in order to produce that turret?

Maarten to the rescue once more! Do note however that the baneblade turret would need to be converted to join up with the macharius turretring. Also I'd get the Vulcan variant and use the baneblade turret to make the vanquisher. Easier conversion + you get the twin barrel attachment block with the vulcan for extra easy double barrel baneblade mode.(Please the excuse the Xenos scum.)

Second half of XI Devastator Squad finished.

Now, I've obviously used the limited edition vexilarius for the comms officer. This model is, as many have said, grossly out of proportion. To make matters worse, the bare head is fugly as hell. I couldn't fit a helmet in there though, and by the time a fellow hobbyist from my local store showed me how with filing and a lot ofdremmeling he managed to fit a helmet in there, I had already started painting it. By a stroke of luck, I managed to misplace the head, and couldn't find it anymore. So I had to look for a different bare head - and found on in the oform of the Imperial Fists bare head from the FW Templar Brethren set. I'm very happy with it!

Take a look:

XI Devastator Squad

Comms Specialist - Svadir Hark Rangaman

A veteran of countless battles, Brother Hark was requested to lay down his honorary duties as Company Vexila to serve once more as a comms specialist in the experimental XI Devastator Squad. He advised Tech-Sergeant Hotar in the recruitment of battle brothers to serve in the squad, and has proved to be invaluable in devising, adapting, and perfecting tactics for the new graviton weaponry. Much to the squad's amusement, he recently silenced his combat squad's spotter for derelict of duty and failing to complete an oath of moment.

Vexillarius -Bransun Karlinus - lionofjudah

A Terran-born, Vexilarius Karlinus has carried his duties as since the Hanuoaman cleanising of Gu'illianuus IV. His fatalistic wit serves him well, bringing his brothers-in-arms a place of calm in the midst of the actions of the Heresy. Karlinus family is ancient, with records of Astartes induction going as far back as the Thunder Warriors. His lineage is a great source of pride to him, and he knows that as the Emperor's palace stands, his aim will be true and he shall smite the traitors from his home soil.

Heavy Weapon Specialist (Grav Cannon) - Harcon Cayil - Mactire

Harkon Cayhil is a Company Veteran who despite that, was never promoted above the rank of specialist. His bellicose and rancorous nature have earned him several tours of duty in VI Squad, known as ´The Bucket´, having clashed with superior officers on mutliple occasions. Combined with his deadly aim, he was suggested for the experimental tactics of XI Squad by his fellow veteran Hark.

Heavy Weapon Specialist (Grav Cannon) - Berneid Reis - Brother Androcles

Brother Reis has quickly gained a reputation of initiating good-natured rivalries with the other Heavy Weapon Specialists of XI squad, constantly attempting to initiate competition relating to marksmanship or kill counts. He has employed the wargear he is entrusted with to great effect, though, zealously eliminating enemies with extreme prejudice and deadly accuracy. While still a young Astartes, Brother Reis is as jovial as he is well-liked among his peers, and none can doubt his skills. His advancement to a higher position within the company may be closer at hand than would be normal for one of his age.

Spotter - ++Name Redacted Pending Completion of Duty++ (Player 404 has not provided a name yet)

XI Devastator Squad's spotter has recently been Silenced by Comms Specialist Hark, a punishment for derelict of duty and failing to fulfill an oath of moment. Silencing leaves an Astartes nameless until a certain requirement has been met. Sergeant Hakon had a harsher punishment in mind, such as a day in the pain glove, but Specialist Hark saw fit to provide a last chance. This battle brother swore to his brothers that he would not abandon them in the line of duty, but failed to show up for training duty. Should he fail to show up a second time, he faces severe penalties and possible excommunication from 5th company.

THANKS to (Player 404, where are you, buddy!?!?!) Rangaman, Brother Androcles, lionofjudah, and Mactire for providing these miniature with a name, and especially to the last three for providing some inspirational fluff to go with their names!

Combined with VIII Assault Biker Squad:

I declare November's Vow finished!

As a side note, should Player 404 not appear again (he hasn't been active since October 6th) the original rules state that he'll be disqualified, unfortunately. Would it be possible to induct new participants?

Looking cool as always Aug! Nice fluff pieces to go with some awesome models. Especially liking the variety of bits used.

However there has to be a criticism. On this marine, middle photo, you can somewhat see that the right arm is only pinned in place, and lacking the flesh that would usually connect such an appendage ;)  If it isn't too late might I suggest something like GS?http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d185/mkruijff/Imperial%20Fists/XI%20Devastator%20Squad%20Spotter%202_zpsb62nhnwt.jpg

Unfortunately I don't have any more progress shots of the Typhon yet. One side is fully complete, while front and other are 50% done. Instead, I've been wasting alternatively using my time to practice my freehand skills for the first time...since I wouldn't want to let down Aug. Yeah. Blame Aug msn-wink.gif

Company number it is biggrin.png

Aug: if I get round to finishing everything else in my vow, I'll be ready to repaint the fellblade. That has sides long enough to get the design on, certainly. So maybe...maybe...

No backsies, buddy. msn-wink.gif tongue.png

So yeah, here, some proof I'm still alive and painting biggrin.png Next update will be a lot more non-angelic tongue.png

Eidolon’s Weekly Update (Week 8)

Folks,

Well another week down and in addition to painting Thousand Sons I’ve decided to finish off my converting and painting my Dark Elf Blood Bowl team kitbashed from all sorts of Eldar and Elf goodness in advance of the upcoming release…..

Review of Last Week.

So, have I actually done any of my vow…

.

I’m done a batch of pouches and grenades to stick on my tactical squad just need to attach them! I’ve 9 guys based and ready to photograph… so that’s looking promising!

Alas the Sergeants helmet is giving me grief, I can’t get the silver face plate looking right, so I think it’ll be off with his head…. I’ll try again after stripping it otherwise I’ll use an alternate head. I might paint up two this time!! A bit annoying as I wanted to have something to show for this week, but hey ho!

No joy finding the Praetor’s crest, so better do another one, which is annoying!!

I’ve pretty much finshed the Land Speeder Pilots, complete with transfers! So there is progress of a sort…

I’ve also done a little work on a certain Chaplain – so watch this space!

I’ve batch painted another 5 Thousand Sons, giving me 7, a mix of MK IV and III just because I like playing around with the new scheme!

I’ve also been working on an Alpha Legionary and a Death Guard marine, they should be finished (barring transfers) soon, I am thinking of painting up squads and selling them on Ebay, so watch this space…

Plans for this Week.

My son’s are almost done, I might have to make the squad up to 10 and pledge it, especially seeing as it has stopped me doing much else!! I am keen to get them done, as I wasn’t happy with the white trim on the pads, which led to a soaking in dip…..

I have however got a bit of excitement back for building marines, and have been pondering how to do my SunKillers and Vanguard Assault marines, as the parts have arrived!! I’ve also got a replacement part for my Storm Eagle and a head for the Deredeo – now those lovely FW Lascannons need to get released…..

Future Prep.

Really need to finish the vow and not get distracted, enough said!!

I’ll get some pics up soon!!

Brother SP's Update 2.3

This Week:

Okay so a day late but that blitz happened and as of now I have officially finished the Assault Squad.  Pics are enroute.  Now to do either the Librarian or the Chaplain.  Chaplain will be easier but I am missing a crozius end still.  Librarian I have all the parts but I have to decide how I am going to do the blue, as well as if I want to attempt to sculpt horns on the myriad of skulls covering him.  Decisions decisions...

Next Week:

So, I have ten days to complete two models.  Easy done (famous last words).  The painting will be easy its just the converting first thats proving difficult.  Hopefully tomorrow I will get things set in stone and can get this month down and dusted early.

So. . . I haven't touched hobby stuff in quite sometime.

Looks like i'm going to pull what I did last month and wait till the last minute.
