So I don’t actually know anything apart from hints dropped by Atia, but I love the idea of Necromunda reemerging.

1. Sisters of Battle reboot
2. Sisters of Silence
3. Eldar Exodites
4. Tzeentch supplement (Thousand Sons and daemons)
5. Nurgle supplement (Death Guard and daemons)
6. Slaanesh supplement (Emperor's Children and daemons)
7. Demiurg
8. Necromunda Gangs
9. Chaos Mutants/Beastmen
10. Slann
11. Salamanders supplement
12. Ratling/Ogryn supplement

EDIT: Dark Mechanicum, better than Demiurg

You will get a few of these

A few hints please.

Well, let's say - stuff that you thought wouldn't be possible in plastic is now possible. So in theory, most of the stuff on that list *could* be done now. I won't say more than that :X

Oh, and Necromunda/Arbites will get done by FW/SG.

Also, I doubt they would do a Ratling/Ogryn supplement - sorry guys ^^

I’m not sure exactly how this could get released. In past releases of board games it is usually constrained to two factions, although the “Battle of Prospero” game seems to have three (TS/SW/Custodes).

Necromunda though has a total of FOURTEEN factions.

·       House Orlock- Bikers, except they don't have bikes and they're miners. The Jack-of-All-Trades

·       House Escher- Crazy man haters with a cyber-punk style of dress. Agile melee gang

·       House Goliath- Roid Raging skinheads. The slow, not very good melee gang

·       House Van Saar- Wear Eldar-esque suits? Techy-Shooty gang; they excel in trying to spam the inventor skill and wrecking face.

·       House Delaque- Sneaky Molemen/Matrix hybrids. The sneaky, shooty gang.

·       House Cawdor – Holier than thou extremists.

·       Scavvies- Badly armed and diseased, they use zombies and lizard hybrids to help with the fighting. They favor melee and can make a horde

·       Pit Slaves- Escaped cyborgs armed with industrial digging equipment. Slow, not so good melee gang but they have this scissors weapon.

·       Ratskins- They are sneaky, use terrible guns and are pretty good in melee. They are immune to the crazy that happens in the underhive, such as poison gas and the ground collapsing

·       Redemptionists- Cawdor on crack. A horde style gang; believes heavily that you can kill it with fire.

·       Spyrers- Best armed gang. They are the spoiled rich kids from the hive bored out of their skulls. The gang is tiny, usually consisting of 3-8 models.

·       Adeptus Arbites - The riot cops of the underhive.

·       Ash Waste Nomads- These guys live outside the hive, and have vehicles.

·       Vampyres - Were included as a gang of a few superhuman mutants followed around by useless Thralls whose main purpose was as food.

So if this was done in a board game, the best I would expect to see are maybe two gangs (Goliath/Cawdor were more popular) and the Adeptus Arbites. Then maybe see more gangs done with Forge World. Most of the old factions like Sacavvies, Vampyres and Ratskins are unlikely.

Maybe some unique characters like Karloth Valois, Kal Jericho, Klovis the Redeemer, Brakar, and D’onne Ulanti.

And maybe (if we are really lucky) we’ll see an Arbites codex and more units for them pop up even later.

Fun fact, Necromunda is an Imperial Fist recruiting world, so rules for them on this game would be hilarious…

Look for Blood Bowl release later this year for a good guess at how they would release multiple factions. I'd imagine two initial factions with more if popularity warrants it.

I definitely think this will happen......eventually. It's one of GWs most popular discontinued games and the launch of the Specialty branch seems like a golden opportunity to reboot Necromunda.

I never got into it before but I'm really excited to give it a crack if the do re-visit it.

The only thing I can see is one of 2 possibilities a small "kill team" sized release of 2 gangs around 8-12 models each. One of which could be arbites.

Or a larger full scale release with 4 sides in one box ie 4 gangs with each around 8-12 models, and again arbites might be one of them.

I'd guess, 2 gangs, markers etc. and some scenery, maybe a mat.

That seems to be the industry standard now and it's definitely what I'd prefer.

Factions with 8 - 10 multi-part models would be great little kits to sell seperately after he initial launch.

So, the thing with Necromunda - same with Mordhaim btw - it will get done. For now, the focus is on Blood Bowl (with initial plastic releases and future resin teams) and Adeptus Titanicus (full resin). I imagine they will follow the BB mode and do a "starter box" with a gang and arbites, and follow on with seperate plastic and resin gangs. I also would be shocked if they wouldn't give us 30k/40k rules for the arbites this time - they had defend the imperial palast during the siege of terra after all. That said, there is no ETA on it, other than "it's planned".

I would find a Necromunda starter set with Arbites/Enforcers in it to be rather odd, although I accept that it may suit a "boardgame" approach better than the original "skirmish" style game.

If they go for a full skirmish game, then I would expect two generalist House gangs, and given that BB is the classic Humans vs Orcs, I can easily see Orlocks vs Goliath again for the Necro starter. I could also see possibilities for Cawdor to be a starter gang (perhaps instead of Goliath?)

Either way, I honestly think that Escher, Van Saar and Delaque will be reserved for separate sale outside the starter (whether plastic or resin), as they are certainly popular enough to sell no matter what!

I need to see what i have precicely but i know i have some Orlock and escher mixed in with my IG for pdf/grisly vets etc.

And I have a ton of goliath, redemptionist, scavvies, ratskins that I use for chaos cultists... over 20 in that pile.

When a comic shop went out of business when I was in highschool I swooped in and bought every necromunda blister for 25 cents a pack... lol.

What a trip down memory lane ... I'm certain that somewhere in a box beneath many other boxes I have my old set ... and most of those gangs pictured above, no doubt with shockingly bad paint on them!!!  The Bounty Hunters were some of my favorite models, and the game was great fun. Coming from a D&D background I loved the character building aspect of it, some of my mates had minis with fierce reputations!!! Looking forward to seeing what comes of this. Thanks for the info.

@ gideon stargreave:

No, Vodunius is actually correct: those Enforcer models were always Enforcers (not to be confused with the Arbites models which are very similar, and which have always been Arbites models). The Necromundan Enforcers are organised by Lord Helmawr, who modelled them on the Arbites, and they keep local control on Necromunda in Lord Helmawr's name. The Arbites are an entirely separate Imperial institution, and they don't normally get involved in the day-to-day policing of Imperial worlds at such a local level - they are really only concerned with the wider Imperial laws, and in particular those that pertain to the Planetary Governor and the Tithe.

Whilst rules were published for using an Arbites patrol squad were published (because the obvious Dredd references and existing models could not be ignored!), they were rather powerful and not intended to be used regularly in a campaign.

Later on, and in part to give a campaign organiser a fun and fluffy gang of their own to run from time to time, the Enforcers were developed and eventually published (with model support through Fanatic initially, and through Specialist Games later).

As for Mike McVey's works... They were just something cool and fun that he did to expand the Studio's Arbites collection (again, the obvious Dredd homage was a strong reason for doing so!). I am sure that the alternative blue and white scheme he used for the models he converted influenced the Enforcers' paint job later on. :)

My bad, I've just seen that they are indeed different models (!)

In any case, before I quit the hobby the first time there were no enforcers, just arbites (mainly in WD necromunda scenarios etc.) and apparently by the time I came back there was a whole new :cussing model range for Necromunda - those scavvies (although maybe they're ratskins), goliaths, orlocks, and redemptionists are all totally different!

Im wondering if they will try to sneak space marines in some how just like every other release these days.

...I think in Necromunda they're called "Syprers*"?

*(J/K: I know Spyrers aren't Space Marines - it's just that they get much better armour, weapons, and statlines than than other  gangs, hence the jest).

Maybe they'll sneak in IF scouts.  I believe there is some background where they send scouts into the underhive?  But this also sounds like spryers background as well.

You know, it's funny - Outlanders had rules for Space marines in Necromunda, and I also know that IF have a stronghold somewhere on the planet too. However, I'd never thought of using scouts before, nor that a Spyrer-style "goal" could be a rite of passage for them... Although hunting the very people that they are supposed to protect does seem rather sinister even for the Grimdark 40k setting!

I'll have to search around on YakTribe.  It's a good way to remind myself that Necromunda is coming up and not let my hobby ADD drain my hobby budget before it does.

  • 4 weeks later...
Looking at the Bloodbowl reboot and it being a resculpt of the old box I would expect the same to happen with Necromunda. Wish listing for extra gangs in the box is just that. What will be interesting is if they keep the scenery design the same or do something different?

Btw, I wouldn't get my hopes up to see this within the next 12 months. 2017 should have Adeptus Titanicus, Mordheim and more Blood Bowl tongue.png

Duh!!! Thank you so much for the heads up. I thought it was coming out after AT / Epic.

Much rather them take their time and get it right.

So now what to do with that money I was setting aside.

well ... hello 30k devil.gif

Didn't mordheim get blown up with the old world tho?

Wait... maybe WFB will come back out as a "30k" equivelent to AoS...

Seriously tho. I guess nobody is adding new models for necromunda gangs to their hive militia armies any time soon then...

Well, it's what I heard and it makes sense to rotate between fantasy and 40k/30k. Also we are already broken with the awesome releases of the next six months lol :P
