Evening all.

Been a member here for years and years. Had logs previously across. A few different armies including Angels Sanguine and then home grown as well. Here's some of the old stuff.

But I am back into the hobby mainly as a way to relax. And going with HH raven guard. No idea why. Just went with it!

So I'm am close to completing a marine. Well ish.

Neither are great photos. But there is a second highlight on the black on extreme edges. And I have tried to out XIX on a knee pad but needs neatening up. Decided on red trim. Just cause I could. I have also put a base coat on base.

I am trying something different. On this five I am drybrushing wagon great. Then tidy with black to leave highlights. Then extreme highlight.

I also have two more flamer troops I have drybrished and am washing with Nuln. See how it goes.

Cheers D! We shall see how I get on. But got further than my last return.

Missed a trick there. Should have made the title back in black.

Flash, very bright and harsh but can see the extra highlight on armour. It's really not that savage!

Update time. Pics are still awful as still on phone and haven't really got anywhere easy or good to take them but you should get the idea.

 


 

Current state of the 10 marines I picked up to paint first. Not even a proper squad but starting somewhere. Can we all have at lieast some paint on now. Also started doing the bases on first 3 and tidying up a little.

 


 

Then the 3 different things I am trying on armour.

 

First one has been drybrushed Eshin grey then inked with Nuln oil. Second has been drybrushed with Eshin then again with Dawnstone and nothing else. Third is Eshin drybrush then a neaten using Abbadon. I will then add an edge of dawnstone.

 

I actually like each of them. I might try a really light glaze of nuln on the middle and hopefully that will be a quick black.

 

I also got 5 terminators out the dettol and cleaned then sprayed today. Will do them after these guys and do them the same time as a contemptor.

Right, small detour away from Raven Guard into Iron Warriors. A lot has been happening. Here is the latest update from another forum though...

 

Long time no post... Long month! But here are the marines I spoke about. They are actually further on than this now but I have another 5 nearing completion so will post all together.
 
 
Plus a current army shot. Slowly getting there!
 
 
I have another 5 who need their all over wash then basing and they are pretty much there. I now have decals to do the markings but I need to get some decal softner which I realise now I just forgot to add to an order. Doh. I also have been going mad as I knew I would buying stuff and things!
 
 
Thats a prepped and cleaned back of resin goodness. Whirlwind Scorpius, resin shoulder pads, boarding marine kit, IW contemptor, apothecary and some heads and torsos! 
 
Plus I also have a small drunk ebay issue. I also have a second IW contemptor which is magnetized everywhere and has all the options. That was pricey.
 
Phew, that was long!

Been plugging away on these... Big update.

 

I finished off these 5 marines... Had a play with the oxide paint and some corrosion. Kind of works. Looks harsh in the pics but not bad a tabletop. These will be split. Lascannon's will be iron havok and the others just tactical marines. 
 
 
I also took a terrible army shot so far...
 

 

 
Latest update. Speed painting these guys basically! Flying through.
 
 
And the dread.
 
Following this I will finish the Land Raider and then begin work on the scorpious and some tyrants when my bits arrive.
