I am the Arch Fiend, aka Biohazard’s Undivided Chaos log

So inspiration grabbed last night and I ended up moving the paints to the side and worked on this. Still very very early WIP.

This was based on the easy build Redemptor so has taken a bit more work.

I still need to tweak the pose and decide how I’m going to build the Grav bombard weapon. I’ve gone with the drill for his other arm. The trim is not final either, just really trying out ideas.

Sorry folks, this log as well as my World Eaters one has been sorely neglected of late. Real life has had me by the short and curlies for a while now but hope to get back to updating semi regularly.

A quick recap, for those who may have missed them over in my WE thread the Nurgle Daemons are up to this point. ( I failed to complete my Call as well :()

I also picked up the Blackstone Fortress box when it was released and worked on making a Chaos Lord with a few less tubes and random pipes on him, he still needs some clean up but I’m happy with how he’s coming along.

Also towards the end of last year SystemSyn from these boards was awesome enough to gift me a Deredeo Dread, so I’ve been working on making it Hellforged for using with the Black Legion, very early stages just now, have only really decided on a pose. Not sure how much detail I am going to add as I really like the clean lines this model has but it needs something to help it look more than just a black Deredeo. I’ll hopefully think of something.

So that’s where this project is up to. I’ve also finished painting one of the Bringers of Despair squads. Will try and get some pics of them soon. I’ve built the Traitor Guard from BSF as well as a load of Raptors and Haarken World Claimer but they’re all pretty much standard builds. I’ll show more of them at the painting stages. :tu:

Those Nurgle dudes mate - just wow. You have really captured their essence with the palette and the are rally well painted.

Love what you have done with the BSF Lord, it is something similar to what I had planned with mine with his torso. I like his head too, which part is that?

Deredeo looks awesome! Again, where is the head from? Also, his legs look really cool, any chance of a close up? It is lighting a fire under my ass to get back to finish mine.

Great work all round pal :tu:

Bjorn Firewalker, Thanks bud, I really enjoyed painting the GUO and Plaguebearers. The drones not so much, that’s why they’re unfinished haha.

Pearson73, Thanks bud, I’m toying with giving the lord the power axe and plasma pistol from the old metal Lord as well.

Midnight, thanks bud, the Nurgle Daemons were fun to paint. Needed a break from red for a bit. :)

The BSF Lords torso is made from a Raptor piece and a mk7 Marines torso. It still needs some clean up but I really don’t like all the random tubes that seem to be everywhere on some of the newer Chaos models. The heads from the Blood warriors kit with the crest removed and the top knot from one of the bare heads in the same kit.

The Deredeos legs were built using a guide I’d found online. Here https://www.powerfisted.com/?p=293

He walks you through the steps, I really like the look it gives as it makes the model more proportionally correct I think. The head on him is from the old FW Black Legion Dread. I got it from Insane Psycopath last year and knew I wanted to use it on something special.

Again I want to say thanks very much to SystemSyn for giving me the model in the first place. :tu:

I wish I had known about that before I built mine, this legs look great on the Dodo. I remember that head now, I looked similar to the Nightlords Contemptor. How could I forget such an iconic Black Legion model - bad Midnight!! Re-chaosing him up, if you want to keep the standard clean lines maybe just a little more trim like what you have used on the Havoc Launcher/toes. The rest could be done with paint (eye of Horus some Ctonic runes perhaps?)

Like I said, Lord is looking great. That model has such potential but has far too many pipes. I don’t know his back story, perhaps he needs them. I didn’t notice it was a different topknot, it flows the same way as the tasks on the banner poles. Very subtle :tu:

The Lord once again shows your uncanny knack for creating effective kitbashes, buddy: The face mask and topknot combo just works so well! Personally speaking, I'd suggest keeping the hammer, however: There are precious few dedicated hammer designs for chaos, whereas giving him an axe would make for just another guy with an axe -- something there probably isn't a lack of, particularly in your collection ;) Plus a lord with a hammer would nicely differentiate your Black Legion from your World Eaters -- that's strictly speaking from a visual perspective, however.

Really looking forward to seeing more of your excellent work this year! :)

Midnight, I have a plan when it comes to the trim. It will definitely be a less is more approach I think. :tu: and thanks for noticing the flow of the topknot and banner poles. That was very deliberate as he now matches the top knot on abandon and the cape on my power armour Sorceror so when they’re all standing together there’s some continuity ;)

My Bringers of Despair are packed in a case for a game tomorrow so no pics of them yet but I do have a little update for you.

Remember this guy?

Well, he now looks like this,

Had a play around with some plasticard for the first time ever tonight. Results weren’t too awful, I don’t think. Some tidy up definitely needed. There’s still a lot of trim and extra details to be added, like pipes to the head eyes.

Also I think if I build another Redemptor to Leviathan model I’ll use the more expensive kit, the easy build is fine for a base but to achieve anything near a natural pose takes a lot of work.

I’ll also add the plasticard at the construction stage rather than when it’s fully built. :tu:

Thanks bud, I’m hoping it looks enough like a grav flux bombard whateveritscalled. The source of the bits though is mainly the belly gun from a lord of skulls and then parts from a hammer from an ironclad Dread I think

No problem! And it definitely looks enough like a Grav-Flux Bombard, could also work as the Siege Melta array. And okay, I thought I recognized the bits a bit, but couldn't put my finger on it.

Oh my. - that thing looks brutal!! The gravflux is pretty massive, but that is a good thing and adds to the whole brutality. As does the face plate! Very Leviathan!

Are you going to add rivets etc to the new shin armour? I like the extra weight they add too the overall silhouette though I agree the drill looks a bit smaller now, though it could be the angle.

This is going to be one of your mechanical masterpieces!!

Gederas, glad to hear it. Thank you :tu:

Oak river, thanks, there are still some details to be added to the weapon arms. The drill still needs to have the claws added similar to my old conversion. I do have some Heldrake claws but I’ve tidied them away somewhere and can’t remember where I put them. :D

Midnight Runner, thanks buddy, yeah I’ll be adding trim etc to the leg armour, I just wanted to try and emulate the design of the FW Leviathan. My plasticard work is pretty crude but I think I can probably hide the worst of it as I go on. Like I say I’ll be adding Heldrake claws to the drill arm as well but need to find them.:tu:

Excellent progress on the Dread, buddy! The gun arm is looking absolutely fantastic! I have to admit I am not a big fan of the head right now, though: While the idea is very cool, that massive visor just seems a bit too blunt and uninteresting -- knowing your kitbashing prowess, I think you can work a bit more magic on that part ;)
