On the plus side, it seems we've got a large pool of models for the RTS and ETL events ;)

I'm also somewhat impressed that people are in the same ballpark of shame* as I am!

* Yes, it's totally a unit of measurement in this regard. Didn't you know?

I've sold many, many models in the past 6 months and kept purchases to limited or collector style releases for the last 2 years, but I still have 5+ years of stuff to paint. I'm trying to get down to less than a year's worth of models per project. But between my first love BA, Ultramarine Heresy project, Imperial allies of Scions and Inquisition, and a Zone Mortalis Khorne CSM army, I'd STILL have 4 years of projects going.

This is why buying in lots and bundles on eBay to start this hobby is dangerous.

It really is plastic crack.

My problem seems to be that I can't paint more than a unit a month, because of really life commitments and the time it takes me to paint. So basically I have years worth of painting a head of me.

Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

A unit a month is like warp speed to me..

This thread has actually got me thinking I should come up with some kind of schedule – figure out how long my backlog will actually take and do some planning...

Man I daren't look to see how much I've actually got to do but off the top of my head head it's;

Two Baal preditors,

Two Death commpany Dreadnoughts,

Two Tactical squads,

An old school rhino,

A drop pod,

The shield of Baal box set,

A 5 man squad of terminators from the main box to convert from DA's to blood angels,

Lemartes,

A Death company box,

The Terminators from Space hulk, I think these will get combined with all the other terminator sets I've got to make some good looking squads as I already have a set painted for the game. I also might have a few old metal sterguard that need to be put together but that would involve looking and maybe buying the new box set to make them look really nice... I've got a bit of Tau stuff to finish off before I get stuck back into this pile but I'm looking forward to it!

Absolutely this. Since the thread went up i've been actively thinking "nah, I actually have enough for now" when cool stuff comes up for sale. It's been pretty sobering.

I think the games room will be getting a WIP whiteboard to keep track of things and encourage completions.

I recently got back into Blood Angels, but due to various other projects they have been built but sidelined thanks to my Eldar army.

2 Death Company Boxes

1 Tech Marine

2 Baal

1 Landraider

5 Death Company

1 Techmarine

Basecoated and washed

1 Baal

I'm starting on my project now. I've bought many cans from Army Painter and sold my soul to GW for over 100 American for paint and various fortifications and the like. I have quite enough to keep me busy, but the call of Strike Force Ultima tempts me. I still don't know if it's just Vanilla or if it can work with BA,

I have a different pile of (GWs) shame - A case full of JP Assault Marines that haven't seen the table top since the new codex. I open it every now and again and feel nostalgic.

Still, may strip a squad of five and re-paint them at some point for old times sake. My painting has come a long way since I first got them.

Do it! I can't tell you how pleasing it is to take some old models and update them. I took some old 2nd Edition Death Company and redid them - they went from sitting in a box doing nothing for years (*ahem*... decades...:blink.: ) to regular games. Don't forget to take pictures of them before you strip the paint, just for nostalgias sake and to see how far you've come :happy.:
