There are mentions of 'tower shields' in some of the fluff, so it looks OK to me smile.png

I was asking because I'm interested in the Monkey shields, but if the regular ones go from almost the ground to the very tip of a marine's head then it's bizarre as hell.

They are pretty obviously not the same.

Size wise they are the same height and width. The curvature is similar. The designs are not identical apart from the placing of the Gun rests. Would be problematic from a copyright point of view if they were.

 

The height is roughly to the shoulder. Could be the angles of the photos.

I did use the boarding shields from monkey on shapeways. I think they are about the right size. A lot of it depends on the positioning of the support arm. This one just got modeled a little high by me.

Nice markings on the Tartaros Carcharadon. Really crisp.

Finally assembled them. I got the ones with the hands but they didn't line up very well so I turned the hands on the shields into a mount to attach to the vambrace of normally assembled tacs. Worked pretty well. Can't beat the price either.

​A very simple conversion but the use of the tartaros terminator heads on mk 3 look great, they look like early prototypes for mk4.
The legs are also very easy to repose gives the models more movement.
