The Converem

The last to burn away.

Here's my sergeant for my missing legion unit The Converem.

Legionnaires who have disgraced the primarch have there rank and iconography removed. Where embers of the legion bring light to humanity, the Coverem's only purpose is to extinguish themselves in the horrors of war. All the primarch cares about is the gene-seed they hold and the data they collect.

Here's Galeras the first mutant created by the primrach to replace the space marines.

But through extensive training and torture Galeras is a hardened warrior of the emperor.

Though only of 20 years of age Galeras can out perform his lessor brothers of the adeptus astartes.

Your two last miniatures are amazing, though my favourite is the Converem sergeant, apothecary parts give a very cool looking aspect to the legion and also makes sense with the fluff. About Galeras... Did I read it right when I saw that he's better than the other marines thanks to extensive training and TORTURE? ;-)

The Primarch put Galeras through the similer tortures he went through when he was being experimented on.

When Galeras came out sane, the Primarch knew his creation was a success.

Cool. But you should add a belly. He looks kinda short on the upper body front. But jow did you do the cape? Looks really good.

Nope the cape is from the empire general. and I thought about. but I'm really cant green stuff. I may go back to him later on and add more of one.

The primarchs masterpiece, Galeras's biology is the peak of the primarchs knowledge being stronger, faster, smarter than that of a normal Astartes.
From Galeras birth the primarch forced tortures upon him, similar to that of which he endures during his youth. Though unlike his primarch Galeras's mind didn't break.
Galeras is solely loyal to the Imperium and will fight for the emperor over all else.
When the primarch fell form the emperors light Galeras lead the shattered Ashen Crows against their now crazed primarch and his army of monsters

I really wanted this guys armour to look old and weathered, I think I achieved that.

Criminals of the legion, they have their titles and most of their iconography removed. They mean nothing to the primarch, all he cares about is the gene-seed they hold and the data they collect.

They can be found where the fighting is thickest or on close to suicidal mission.

In-between battles the Converem are locked away and must repair and maintain their own armour and weapons because of this many of the Converem bare a mix of armour marks and unusual modifications.

Any Converem found trying to escape or trying to perform another crime against the legion are executed on sight, though is the Plague Doctor is present they will meet a much more slow and painful fate.

Love it! The way you do the power fists, like if they were in flames, is very nice. Also I like a lot the fluff you're doing for your army, the combination of good and evil.

thanks, I wanted my legion units to represent each side of the primarch and when they both agree on something.

I'll let you guess which units which haha

Great banner and models, I like the way you brought together a unique distinctive fiery theme without it being 'not-green salamanders'.

Thanks, I wanted embers to come from their believes rather than with the salamanders which is mostly O we come from a fire planet and we have dragons.

You may be thinking "holy :censored: he seems a bit OP" well he is kind of meant to be, made to lead super mutants whos purpose is to replace the space marines and police the primarchs means you're gonna be a badass. but at the same time you are nearly paying primarch prices for him.
This is a first draft, any feedback would be great.

I would keep him as he is except that I would remove eternal warrior (he is already T5, so only big pieplates should insta kill him) and maybe even change his fnp to 5+. That said I would add somthing to represent that he's genetically engineered, maybe frenzy or some custom made rule. But the base seems solid, it will be great to see rules for the other unique units you've made!

So thought I'd put together a bit about how my primarch (Galvarian) thought about his brother primarchs.

Lion el Johnson: though shows respect for his tactical and physical prowess, he was never close to him.

Fulgrim: found his idea of perfection foolish and his legion honour hungry. He often argued with fulgrim.

Perturabo: Hated how he threw away his legionaries lives. Considered him heartless and cold.

Jaghatai Khan: though impressed with his legions refined rapid tactics and the primarchs skill, he never was close to him.

Leman Russ: He found the wolves superstition and believes foolish, would often argue with russ over clear physic nature of his rune priests. He was more interested in Russ's legions unique biology.

Rogal Dorn: though considered him cold and headstrong he saw him as a powerful general, fit to lead the armies of humanity. His dark personality took a strong liking to dorn and would seek military advice from him.

Konrad Curze: he hated Curze with a burning passion, seeing him as unstable and horrifically cruel. They came close to blows many times.

Sanguinius: though he considered Sanguinius a charismatic leader and friendly he was very suspicious of his wings and the nature of the mutation.

Ferrus Manus: They would often talk about advancements in technology and weaponry they had worked on but other than that he had very little to do with Ferrus. Often looked down on him for not providing his homeworld natives a safe way of live.

Angron: he wanted to help Angron, he begged him him to help find a cure or at least something to dampen the butchers nails. Though each time was met with denial. He saw the angron as mentally unable to lead a legion while his butchers nails remained implanted. He was very vocal about the removal of Angron as a leader of the legion to his brothers, though few agreed or cared.

Roboute Guilliman: Galvarian saw Guilliman as the perfect leader. Being highly skilled in both militaristic and political fields. He often thought that given the chance he would move leadership of his legion to him so he could focus on the development of technology for the imperium.

Mortarion: hated how he left planets due his liberal use of rad and poison weaponry. The primarch often tried to be present during death guard conflicts so he could clean up the mess they left.

Magnus the Red: though he respect Magnuses vast knowledge, he was very suspicious of his cure he created for legions gene-seed. He also found amusement in his know it all attitude.

Horus Lupercal: was envious of his closeness to the emperor (mainly because he was such a source of knowledge), otherwise didn't have strong emotions towards him.

Lorgar Aurelian: saw him as a religious fanatic that had no place in the imperium. He interacted with him very rarely and even then often found himself arguing with him.

Vulkan: was close to vulkcan, and highly respect his kindness towards humans. Vulkan was one of the few primarchs that openly talked to each of galvarians personalities knowing each one as a different person. Galvarians was fascinated with vulkans mutated skin and eyes.

Corvus Corax: respect him as a warrior and a leader but otherwise has no strong feelings towards him.

Alpharius: kept a good arms distance from him, specially toward the end of his life . Very paranoid about him. Expecting him to be the first to discover some of Galvarians "shadier" practices.

The Ashen Crows Legion Rules

First Draft

So I've been coming up with some legion rules for The Ashen Crows, as someone who never as been the best at the tabletop game what do you think of these rules?

• Legion Astartes

• Masters of the Medicare – Any model with the Legion Astartes (Ashen Crow) rule adds +1 to their fell no pain (to a maximum of 3+) . Characters may always take Feel no pain rolls. Primus medicares lose the supporting officer rule in a Ashen Crow force.

• Fuel of Humanity– Ashen Crows may never be allied or take a detachment of solar axilla or imperial milta.

• The Crows Gaze – any model with the Legion Astartes (Ashen Crows) special rule are immune to any affect that alters their LD, can never take look out sir roles, or leave combat willingly.

Any character (1 per squad) may take a Narthecium for 20 points, units not in the hq or elites force organisation chart offer a 6+ feel no pain save instead of the usual 5+. Characters may always take Feel no pain rolls.

I like a lot the idea of telling the attitude of your primarch towards his brothers, maybe I'll do the same soon ;-P though I have to say that there should be no opinion about Alpharius as he was found on 981 M30. while the last lost legion to be destroyed was erased from record on 969 M30. meaning that the lost primarchs never met Alpharius. He is a pretty cool character though, so I would totally understand you if you try to find a way around this.

About the rules, they seem appropriate, but I think the disadvantages are too low for the ability of getting a 3+ fnp... I just shudder when thinking of cataphractii terminators with 3+ fnp... So I would recommend to either have more restrictions or disadvantages or lower the benefits. That said I beleive you're in the right track, for the fluff you've provided this seem to fit perfectly.

Though I agree in a sense, the advantage only comes from upgrades or units. forcing the army to take them to benefit from it. unlike the other legions who get their bonus for nothing.

It is beleived that when Corax refers to two missing primarchs he is talking about the first lost one and Alpharius, who hadn't been found yet. This is because if he's talking about the two lost legion the primarch of the second lost ond would have been found AFTER his legion was destroyed. While this could make for interesting fluff I think it is not what TheAshenCrow wants for his legion :-P
