Sorry if this has already been asked but I'm absolutely loving your legion, I think I might 'steal' a few things :tongue.: mainly how do you get the grey of your colour scheme?

haha thanks.

I didn't use exact colours but basically it's base the model with a dark grey, then dab on with a slighly lighter grey keeping away from the edges, every time you get lighter get further away from the edges. once you're happy with the shade of grey use null oil in edges of the armour.

At the moment it's just lore and rules, though expect a lot of models over Christmas time.

The Vementor

With my primarch being physically weakest of the primarchs, in battles he takes more of a supportive role than his brothers. His standard armour allows him act as both a commander and an apothecary.

Though in some battles the only option is obliteration of the enemy and requires the primarchs full force. That his when the primarch makes use of the Vementor.

A giant suit of armour named after the plague that devastated his home world.

This suit turns him into a one man army. With Strength that could topple buildings and a vast array of weaponry each designed to destroy its target completely.

Few have seen the suit and the process of its creation is a highly guarded secret of the primarch.

He refuses to show it to even his brothers as its original purpose was to allow him to fight his brother primarchs should any of them fall from the imperial truth.

So... When are we getting a model? ;-P Joking aside, it sounds like a fun conversion to make, have you got any ideas on how you'll do it?

I do plan to do a model for it. eventually.....

thats the big question at the moment. thinking dreadknight as the base then a mix and match of leviathan and tau parts.

Got the primarch in his normal armour to make first.

How on terra do you find a alternative head for a primarch.

Im currently planning out my primarch conversion and my major issue comes from the head. If I could green stuff i'd just use lorgars head as a base then sculpt/paint on the hair and scars. Since I cant green stuff, i'm looking for an alternative. primarchs scale is weird and their is pretty much nothing in the GW range that seems to fit.

the only 2 things I can think that could work is: Converting up a custodian helmet or a centurion helmet. Issue here is that I cant find any picture comparing these helmets to a primarchs head.

Anyone who has converted up primarchs before please help me, im loosing all hope haha.

An aspect I've always loved about the primarchs and space marines is their interactions with normal humans and when they show a more human side to them. So I thought I'd shed some light on Galvarians interactions with humans.

Galvarian has always been fascinated by humans ability to create art, capturing events and emotions in and array of styles and medium. It was not uncommon for the primarch to be seen observing and discussing with Remembrancers.

Though the primarch thought of trying himself he saw himself to inhuman to be able to portray the emotions and stories of humanity. Eventually he met a musician, a women by the name Savanna Montes. The primarch was fascinated by the melodies she created using an ancient Terran instrument, with keys of white and black. He could feel emotions poured into every piece and vivid images flooded his mind.

Galvarian grew close to Savanna and she became someone of which both sides of himself could talk to. It gave him a connection to what and who he was creates to protect and serve. Many of his brothers seem to had forgotten that.

During one visit Savanna requested the primarch play. Galvarian refused at first feeling he had no story to tell until Savanna asked about his scaring covering his head.

The primarch sat at the instrument and gazed at the keys as if in a trance and slowly he began to play. At first only it was simple chords and melodies but it evolved into an immaculate symphony, his hands a blur. As he played the tone grew darker and darker, with every beat of his heart the primarch eye began twitching, his playing became a storm of conflicting notes and melodies until with a piercing shout the primarch slammed his fists down on to the instrument.

Though he knew why he was experimented on, though he knew how many were saved. He had never gave himself the chance to express his anger and sadness that dwell inside him from all those years ago.

Savanna was cowering in the corner, her hands covering her ears and tears ran down her cheeks. She had just witnessed a primarch, a son of the emperor, reveal not just his past but his very soul.

The primarch snap out of his trance and turn to see Savanna in the corner. She slowly looked up at him but couldn't met the primarchs eyes, she muttered "Are all of the sons the emperor this human?"

The primarch lowered his head and began to leave though just before he left the Remembrancer, Glavarian looked back at her.

" We are not human, we were ever meant to be, but we born broken".

Why the Legion and Primarch was purged.

So I thought it was about time I reveal as to why the primarch and the legion was destroyed. it's still a WIP.

As you may know my primarch created the ablaze, mutants to replace the space marine program, they didnt suffer from human emotions but still understood them, they were also designed to police the primarchs in case any of them would turn from the imperial truth.
once he created these mutants and field tested them he gathed as many as his brothers as he could without alerting the emperor and hosted a friendly tournament, of which he enters Galeras, he ends up beating every opponent. though it is Sanguinius that realises that it wasn't a normal marine. This is where Galvarian explains what the ablaze are and why he created them.
As you'd expect it doesn't go down well with many though some didn't completely turn down the idea. though then it's found out that Galvarian had stolen gene-seed from some of the other legions to study them. The primarch and the legion retreat back to the home world.
Eventually the emperor finds out and demands the primarch destroys his work and demands he return to terra to face judgement.
The primarch is only trying to do whats right for humanity and stop humans giving away their lives for war. The Ablaze are like the primarchs, weapons created purely for that purpose but they don't suffer from human traits like the primarchs do.
This sends the primarch a bit mental and his dark personality completely takes over.
he starts to kill any terran marine he finds and demands that the systems populous be captured. the primarch will need an army to fight against the imperium.
Most of the legion fight against the primarch including the Ablaze, many of which gave their lives in slowing down the primarch so the legion could retreat. Some stayed loyal with the primarch and were "gifted" with powerful mutations.
The space wolves were tasked with the escorting the primarch back to terra but upon arrival at the system to find the ashen crows beaten and battered fighting against the crazied primarch and his mutant army.
To Russ's distaste the Loyal Ashen Crows are being lead by Galares the first mutant created by Galvarian. though works with him to deal with galvarian.
After intense fighting and many casualties Russ finally makes it to Galvarian though he has turned himself into a monster, his limbs long, with black wing erupting from his back, his face appeared crow like.
Meanwhile the surviving Ablaze destroy Galvarians laboratories. leaving no data or evidence of his experiments.
Galvarian finds the Vementor, He would use the primarchs own weapon against him.
Russ is being devastated by the monstrous Galvarian. His knowledge of Primarchs biology means he knows how to hurt and kill them. Before Galvarian could kill russ Galeras slams into him with the Vementor.
The primarch and his creation battle each other till both collapse, the Vementor reduce to scrap and Galvarian missing limbs and part of his face.
It was at this moment that Galvarians personalities were able to be balanced again and he begins to sob. russ goes to kill him but Galvarian stops him with the little life left in him he asks russ to sit with him during his final moments.
"All I wanted was to protect humanity, but my fear for what our brothers would do drove me to turn from everything I believed in."
"Russ, If you think I will be the only one to fall think again, look at Curze and Angron, they are as ill as I am."
"you are one of the few who could stop our brothers should they fall, and they will russ, they will."

I have to admit that I was not convinced about the hair at first, but now that it´s painted I´ve completelly changed my opinion, it looks fantastic brother! However I would maybe try giving an even paler light to the skin, it could be diluted white as, even though it´s a good skin tone, I don´t think it looks as pale as it should, though maybe it is just the photo.

I felt the same about the hair.

Though I want to pale, I dont think it would be bright white like corax. I want his skin to look gone off, grey rather than white.

Ablaze Squad Fully Built

The Ablaze are Galvarians crowing achievement. Designed to replace the space marines, The Ablaze are space marine like mutants who were bigger, faster and smarter than the adeptus astartes. They didn't suffer from the emotions of humanity space marines do (even if they are dampened), they don't feel anger or honour , they are living weapons who do what is needed.
Once grown the Ablaze will start training almost instantly and quickly reach adulthood. Unlike marines they adopt very little of a legions culture and will serve the imperium before the legion. They will have no issue with attacking members of the legion who dare stray from the imperial truth.
Galvarian created the Ablaze so that no humans would have to give away their lives and suffer in the acts of war, but were also created to police his brother primarchs as well as himself.
Galvarian was scared of the damage his brother primarchs could do and worries that many would stray from the Imperiums laws (mostly Konrad, Angron and Lorgar).
Only 100 were created and field tested before the fall of the legion and were vital in fighting back the crazed primarch and his mutant army.

Converem Squad Fully Built.

ConveremSquad5

The Converem are the legions criminals who are not executed or used for testing. They will be sent on to suicide missions or where the fighting is thickest.

Any legionary found breaking any of the legions rules will be trailed and judged by the companies Chaplin. If the crime is great enough they will be striped of rank and all legion iconography, then imprisoned. They are responsible for maintaining their armour and weaponry, because of this it is common for Converem to be in battered and strangely modified armour.

The Converem were created shortly after the first recruits were taken from the legions home world.

These recruits were originally only criminals, Galvarian deemed them the only ones worthless enough to lose their lives for eternal war.

Many of these recruits didn't share the compassion for the primarch and a great number of them were personally disgraced by the primarch. Few of the Terran legionaries also failed to aline with the primarchs views and suffered because of it.

I must say that power fist and lightning claw are a weird choice of weapons outside game efficiency (which shouldn´t be an issue when modelling your own primarch), but everything else looks right, this will surely be an interesting project and I expect great results from you! Also the bits you´ve used will fit perfectly when you fill the glyphs, those custodes shoulderpads look great on him as does the necron part on the front, though I think that the shieldvanes on the back need the model to be a bit more bulky to look just right. At last, are you planning on leaving Lorgar´s base or are you going to change it? I think that primarch bases are very characteristic and maybe you should try to change it significantly to give Galvarian his own look.

Thanks :)

the primarch has always had to make use of his knowledge to make up for his lack of strength. So he has his claw, of which he uses to deliver his poisons, but also extract gene seed in mere seconds.

the fist is designed for him to take on things that would be immune to the poisons and give him incredible strength when needed.

I'm currently modifying and basing the model so it would look quite different.

Here's another member of my terminator squad.

Decided that a normal plasma blaster was a bit boring so using a heavy flamer and a plasma gun I created this conversion.

I picture it as a plasma gun with a huge cooling system meaning it can fire quicker for longer.

That is an awesome conversion idea. I thought about making a plasma blaster from a regular storm bolter arm and two plasma guns side by side, but this is indeed more interesting. What do you think, could the barrel and nozzle of the heavy flamer be carefully removed so that it can be magnetized and switched for the plasma bit? That way both options are possible without the need for additional shoulder pads.

You really should put some of your models in the B@C/PB conversion ideas thread.

The Cataphractii legs on PAed marines loook oversized IMHO.

Thanks :). I may get round to it eventually.

I think it could be done but you would need to be very careful.
