 It seems i've not updated this for a week or two, well that means i've finished quite a lot, since i've last posted i've painted;

-10 Crusaders

-A Captain (Marshal Amalrich of the Wrathful Crusade)

-Trazyn The Infinite (Yes Really...)

 

 First up here is my latest batch of crusaders, I only have 5 to show off since i've apparently deleted the photos of the first 5 marines I painted, however you can see all 1- in the army shot at the end of the post.

I'd like to go back and tidy up some of the highlights on him later, apparently when you paint at 2 in the morning it starts to go a bit downhill, but he was a nice quick and effective character.

 

I've also included a shot of the whole army together so far, if you look close you can even see Trazyn The Infinite cowering in the background, i've included him in the army shot as he fits with the narrative of my army taking part in the Fall Of Cadia however out of respect for the forums Space Marine nature I shall forego the close ups.

With the HQ and 2 troops choices now painted I can really see the army starting to take shape, i've got an assault squad to work on next which i'm aiming to finish in the next few days, i'm planning to go to Warhammer World on the 1st March to grab a few games with a friend so i'd like everything to be painted for then, I've also bought a few boxes of Grey Knights in anticipation of Grand Master Voldus, so they may end up joining me in Nottingham time permitting.  I've  then got 2 weeks off work which might make way for me to paint an Ultramarines army for Guilliman coming out.

Thanks, there'll be another one coming up this week, along with some Scions to ride in them.

 

 The latest addition to the army is an assault squad, they've taken me about a week to paint, I don't normally paint in batches of 10 but I think it actually helped to get the squad done a little quicker, they definitely felt like a bit of a slog towards the end but i'm mostly pleased with the results.

 I've got Saint Celestine up next on the paint station, think it'll do my soul some good to not paint something black!

I've thus far not posted much in the way of WIP so far here, but this next part of the project if requiring me to power through a little, I've been working on Saint Celestine and her Geminae Superia, there feeling like a bit of a slog at the moment but I haven't quite managed to establish the base colours, the Warhammer TV vido for her has been really helpful so far, just need to put another layer or two of Pallid Wych Flesh on the wings and all the white cloth areas and she should start to look like something, hopefully.

On a cool side note my computer seems to have given Celestine a halo, a sign from the Emperor to pick up a paintbrush perhaps!

Not the most exciting update in the world, or the greatest photo, but Celestine and her Geminae Superia have a little more paint on them, I managed an hour or so before and after work and a little time on my lunch to work on her, feeling generally happier about her but she's still feeling like a bit of a slog, i'd definitely consider some sub assemblies if I was to do her again!

I finish work early tomorrow so hopefully i'll be able to finish the lot of them and just have the Militarum Tempestus to paint for going to Warhammer World next week.

 The hard work definitely feels like it's paying off now, I've finished Saint Celestine and her Geminae bodyguard, I now have 15 Tempestus Scions left to paint, and a Taurox Prime, then I have the minimum requirement for the Wrathful Crusade formation, i'll be planning on adding more units to the formation later but for now once I get these units out the way I might paint some Ultramarines for when Guilliman comes out, I've already bought some Grey Knights to go with Voldus too.

 

 Saint Celestine has felt like a labour of love and hate at times, she's such a beautiful model, the detail is incredible, but I feel like I could have planned her out a lot better, i'd like to go back later and tidy up some of the white areas, but for now I just need to look at something else, and I only have 2 days left to be able to paint all my Scions before I go to Warhammer World!

 I've been lax in my updates over the last two weeks but i've been fairly productive, but i've got a few bits left to finish before I show things off.  I've finished my second Taurox, and i've got 15 Tempestus Scions nearly finished, 10 regular scions and a command squad, but if i'm honest since having gone to warhammer world i've had a change of heart about the colour scheme, so changes are potentially inbound.

This is my lovely looking dead pile from Warhammer World, my force whilst looking cool is really suffering on the tabletop, it's had three outings and recieved some mighty kickings, my tactical acumen is not up to scratch at the moment;

I've also managed to swap some bits with a friend to get a second squad of Custodes, to go with the bits i got at Warhammer World, so hopefully as well as an Ultramarine army i'll be aiming to paint lots of smaller detachments of Imperial forces.
