Kurgan the Lurker
2011 was the last time we did the army bags. Just looking to see if there is enough interest these days to do another run. This is the info from 2011. A few things have changed, the way we do the logo for example (it is solid black now on the bags). For ease of ordering the last time we did this we did all black bags with a black BnC skull logo on them. Colors would certainly be doable again but it does create a change in the minimums that we usually have to do. Cost has most likely changed as well, simply because it is 5 years+ since we last did a big run. Time frame would probably be something along the lines of collecting funds till year end and then placing the order the first week of Jan. Depending on Initial Attacks schedule would determine when we would get the bags out for delivery. They give us a pretty big discount on the bags when we do a bulk order. One offing them makes them about $50 more expensive than normal once all is said and done. In 2011 the bags wound up being $150-170 after shipping, depending where you were in the world. I haven't had a chance to talk to the bag maker recently but I would wager the cost hasn't gone up by more than $30 at most but probably not even that much. Basically this thread is just gauge interest in doing another bulk run of the B&C bag. Plenty of people on here can attest to the quality of the bags. So if you are interested, please just post "interested". You can of course ask questions and I will do my best to answer them. So below is just the 2011 post to give you a general idea of look and such: B&C ARMY BAGS GENERAL BAG INFORMATIONThe bags are produced by Initial Attack under their BagMaker line.Logo work is done by Bryant IdeasThe bags are designed to carry Sabol Design's Figure Foam.REMEMBER THE BAGS DO NOT -- DO NOT -- DO NOT -- INCLUDE FOAM. However we have listed a few places you can get foam below. The bags are made of high quality cordura, a fabric which some of you military types are probably familiar with and carry a limited life time warranty which you can see on the Initial Attack website. These bags are high quality and done by hand so they are expensive. There are two types of bags available and here are their relative specs and some pictures. Please note, the pictures depict bags from some of the past years and so do not include the changes we have made to the 2011 bags.Mk. I Bag SpecsDimensions: 13.5"W x 8"D x 20"HFully zippered open front -- the bag would zip all the way down to the base and open. No more cramming your hands down the side to pull your foam trays out.Cut to hold AT army case foam Sabol Designs -- the bag was specifically designed to hold AT army case foam trays so there is no worries about proper fit.Capacity - 20 inches of foam carrying space makes the bag able to hold your entire army and more for easy transport.Handles - twin handles with a velcro clasp to allow for easy carrying by hand.Shoulder strap -- padded shoulder strap for easy carrying.High quality cordura -- Cordura is a durable fabric used in various industries for clothing, bags and other heavy duty items. This bag will hold up to the punishment any gamer can give out.Front zipper pocket -- this pocket was big enough to carry all your rule books -- even the BBB -- and still be fully closed.Side "swag" pocket -- a pocket running the length of the bag to hold blister packs, soda, dice cages/bags, just about any small gaming item that one might need for a hard night of warfare.Side utility pocket -- a pocket for holding your pens/markers/pencils and your tape measure.Padded sides -- the bag is constructed with padding in the soft frame to add a further layer of cushion for your army. You can check these bags on a plane though not being hard sided it is impossible to say they would stop damage from happening all the time.Mk. II Bag SpecsDimensions: 13.5" x 8"D x 15"HFully zippered open front -- the bag would zip all the way down to the base and open. No more cramming your hands down the side to pull your foam trays out.Cut to hold AT army case foam from Sabol Designs -- the bag was specifically designed to hold AT army case foam trays so there is no worries about proper fit.Capacity - 15 inches of foam carrying space makes the bag able to hold your entire army. Smaller than the Mk. I as people felt Mk. I was a bit big for people.Handles - twin handles with a velcro clasp to allow for easy carrying by hand.Shoulder strap -- padded shoulder strap for easy carrying.High quality cordura -- Cordura is a durable fabric used in various industries for clothing, bags and other heavy duty items. This bag will hold up to the punishment any gamer can give out.Rear zipper pocket -- this pocket was big enough to carry all your rule books -- even the BBB -- and still be fully closed. We moved this pocket from the front as it caused some tip over issue in the Mk. I.Side "swag" pocket -- a pocket running the length of the bag to hold blister packs, soda, dice cages/bags, just about any small gaming item that one might need for a hard night of warfare.Side utility pocket -- a pocket for holding your pens/markers/pencils and your tape measure.Padded sides -- the bag is constructed with padding in the soft frame to add a further layer of cushion for your army. You can check these bags on a plane though not being hard sided it is impossible to say they would stop damage from happening all the time. Here is a picture of a (from left to right) Army Transport case by Sabol, Mk. II prototype and a Mk. I prototype:Here are pictures of a MK.II from all sides and opened up (all the bags have the same basic design it's just a question of size):2008 B&C bag (Mk. II variant):2008 B&C bags next to some 2008 Waaagh Bags (the taller bags in the back are the Mk. I variant):COLORS This year the default bag will be black with black webbing (as opposed to the black with red in 2008).We are also doing the updated logo in full black (baseball hat style for those that are familiar with this). So the new logo is:The logo is embroidered and comes in around 20,000 stitches per bag. However this year we are also offering Chapter colors (note I said colors and not logos, see the FAQ for why)! This means you can get a non-black bag with black webbing and the logo in black. We've offered this for several years to the folks at The Waaagh and they seem to love it.So colors you can get:GreenRedGreyBlackYellowBlueBrownMaroonPurpleHunter Orange(there might be some other colors, I'll have to double check). Can we have a camo bag? you might askThe answer is maybe. Yes we can do certain camos, typically US Army styles and non-digital. However if you want a camo bag it does increase the cost somewhat as the bagmaker charges more for that fabric.CHANGES TO THE 2011 BAG We had a few folks in the 2008 bag have the side webbing fail where the shoulder strap d-ring meets the bag. Based off pictures we submitted to the Bagmaker about this they felt it was either the plastic d-ring have a sharp edge (think flash on a mini) that was fraying the strap, a bad batch of webbing or not enough stitching. As we have done these bags since 2004 and never had this issue we sat down and talked with the folks at Initial Attack to see what we could do. So for 2011 the side webbing will have additional stitching and the d-ring is being changed from plastic to metal. This does raise the cost of the bags by a few dollars but we feel is worth it in the long term.COST Costs include the bag, embroidery and sales tax. Shipping is detailed later and is an extra cost associated with your order.Mk. I: $130Mk. II: $120WHERE CAN I GET FOAM FOR MY BAG REMEMBER THE BAGS DO NOT -- DO NOT -- DO NOT -- INCLUDE FOAM. However listed below are several places that you can purchase Sabol sized foam. Your local game retailer may carry these items as well.Sabol DesignTheWarstore.com carries Sabol foam.Wayland Games carries two tray types of the Battle Foam Sabol size trays:bf-sd40t (40 troop tray from the Battlefoam site)bf-sd27tm (27 tall tray from the Battlefoam site)Outrider HobbiesBattlefoam which have a line of their own Sabol sized trays. Many local stores have Sabol foam as well. Please remember when getting foam your bag that the Sabol trays have a 1/4" base on them. So a 2" foam piece is actually 2 and 1/4" tall. One reason we don't have these filled with foam is that it prevents us from folding the bags up when we ship. They are already rather expensive to ship to folks outside the USA and the weight and increased size of putting foam in them would make the cost even greater.FEEDBACK ON THE BAGS You can see past thread in relation to the bags here at the B&C:http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=158480http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=132948at The Waaagh:http://www.the-waaagh.com/forums/?showtopic=44379http://www.the-waaagh.com/forums/?showtopic=38342http://www.the-waaagh.com/forums/?showtopic=32390and YouTube (courtesy of Blue Table Painting): Doctor Perils and Emicus 2 Back to top

Kurgan the Lurker
It most likely will be longer Tyriks. It just kind of depends on the # of people interested and how long folks want to wait.

Jeff Newton
Would it be the same bag or would it be a bag for different sized foam?
Kurgan the Lurker
Would it be the same bag or would it be a bag for different sized foam? Same bag. If we built them to hold say, Battlefoam size trays or similar sized trays, that would be an increase in material costs. It would mean EVERYONE in the order would have to be willing to eat that extra cost. The Mk. 1s (the tall bag) holds A LOT of foam. I'm sure some of the folks who have one can come along and comment more. We don't really do the Mk. II anymore because it did not sell as well. Warsmith Uveron
I am Interested. - It would need to be next year (Post Christmas) - I also need my Day-Job to give me a Raise or for I to get a new job. Both of these are probable but not set in stone.
Jeff Newton
I like the bags but I already have battlefoam. Unless the bag is sized for battle foam trays even if I had to lay it on it's side. Could anyone who got a previous one post a pic of how tall battlefoam might fit in it?

Dragonlover
Interested, assuming it's sized for what I think of as 'standard GW foam'. That is, the old stuff, not the zigzags. Dragonlover
Kurgan the Lurker
Interested, assuming it's sized for what I think of as 'standard GW foam'. That is, the old stuff, not the zigzags. Dragonlover We based our sizing off Sabol Army Transport cases (back when we started the bags that was your only option really). So I can't comment on if GW foam would fit or not. Battlefoam trays would fit if they are the ones that were made to go in a Sabol Case. I can take some measurements on Sunday if people wants. I think I still have some foam laying around.
