That Bill King story from the old Deathwing boxset (although I first read it in the anthology) was one of the coolest bits of background story for 40k, and actually one of the reasons I first got into the 40k universe. Having been around since the tail end of third, I actually like the more modern take on them now, with my favorite being the open ended question as to the Lion' allegiance during the HH as from the novel "Angels of Darkness", kind of sad the the HH series put that ambiguity to rest.
