++42ND SAVLAR CHEM DOGS++

Hey, I've been lurking here for a while, but this is my first post
I've been out of the hobby for about 6-7 years now, but I've decided to get back into it with a new army. I decided to go with something with plenty of converting opportunities. I've always like the post apoc bandit feel of the Chem Dogs.

This is my first platoon squad

I'll hopefully be getting some paint in the mail in the next few days. So i'll post an update with a colour test

Thoughts?

Loving them so far! I'd definitely throw in some of Anvil Industries parts as well; some of the pieces they sell would work well with the aesthetic you're going for.

I don't suppose you'll be converting them a suitable tank, will you? Like say, a Ragnarok? msn-wink.gif

Thanks everyone. I've got a whole bunch of conversions figured out for characters, this is just the beginning, I just have to wait until I have the money.

Impressive! What color scheme are you thinking of using?

I'm going with really earthy colours, unpainted metal armour with yellow shoulder armour and pale skin.

Those pieces from victoria minis? Thinking about getting a few parts myself, how is the resin to work with?

Yep, I've never used resin before and they were fine. a few parts were a little bit waxy but i literally just rinsed them under the tap and they were fine. gluing resin to resin the glue takes longer to dry but nothing major.

Look great man!! I love Victoria's stuff... have a bunch for my guard... I usually get lil bitty balls of GS, put a dab of super glue on each piece of resin, place GS ball at joint and press together... much faster and stronger join

Looking forward to seeing paint

Thanks guys.

I'm still waiting on paint and I got a bit bored today so I made some terrain...

I feel like it needs something more... any ideas?

I'm wondering, "Why the hell would they need a chem tank like that?" and the best explanation I can think of is promethium fuel, in which case, you should add some pumps (look for models of M3 gas stations), so the Chem Dogs can refuel the vehicles they "commandeer."

I think some transports, heavy support, and fast attack options will be more useful. Even if "fast attack" consists of heavy stubbers bolted to the hood of a "commandeered" Ferrari (see the 'Twisted Metal' video games), it'll still be better than simply pumping an infantryman with combat drugs (which may kill him, and thus, prevent him from fighting in the Emperor's name).
