Just finished my Diabolist. I kinda like how he turned out, just not too sure about the helmet being a single color but before I ruin him im gonna leave it like that.

Weekly update, friendos.

 

The red armour is pretty much complete at this point. I'll be going back and picking out details later, but as of these pics I just started the gold. It will be much lighter by the time it's done, much like my Custodes if you remember them.

 

I was going to do the eagle on the Forgelord in a different color, but I figure it'll be a nice contrast to the rest of the model, so I went traditional. As you can see, everything is starting to take shape and I'm hoping to finish them soon. Enjoy!

That's it for me in this event! One Typhon and two Drop Pods - that's twelve Hull Points total finished before the 15th of March, which - correct me if I'm wrong - makes me eligible for the Forge Lord and Chaplain badges, no?

Some time ago I realized that this event requires WIP shot. So I made some. And then totally forgetting to post them. So here they are.

Forge Ikhar is sending some Infiltrators along for last touches and assembly

(Yes. These are not Infiltrator heads. It`s Tech-Heresy. And why I sided with the Warmaster - Rule of Cool over hidebound imperial Edicts ;) )

and I have put some paint on my Skitarii/ Secutarii

Found a way to brush metallic green. Quite happy with the result.

I will have a couple of better shots upon assembly later on and will embed the finished models in some mor efluff on my WIP blog once I find some time. Less than 4 weeks to go!

Weekly update... the Forgelord is finished! Overall I'm pleased with him, but part of me feels like I'm missing something... I look him over again and again but I can't place my finger on it. Maybe you folks can help me out.

The Marksmen Veterans are coming along well. They're almost done, I just have to finish their weapons, lenses and ammo pouches on their belts. I've got the casing coloration picked out, as you can see in the last picture. The only thing I may change is the Heavy Bolters... since I picked up a second box of Rubricae, I have two Soulreaper Cannons and I was thinking of re-purposing them as Heavy Bolters for the unit to fit the theme, but that may require a lot of repainting. From the get go it bothered me that the others had really ornate weaponry and the two heavy weapons were plain. Here are the pics, they should be done next week...

For the Warmaster and Magnus, these reinforcements report for duty!

 

5 Tartaros Pattern Terminators with forceweapons and a heavy flamer and 2 chainfists
1 Centurion to be either a Librarian, Champion or Chaplain
1 Javelin Attack Speeder with lascannons and a heavy bolter

2 Rhinos

1 Spartan Assault Tank, still needs magnetizing but painted in every way

Captain Semper, I would like to tweak my vow a bit, mainly by including another model/unit in it: a World Eaters Legion Praetor (or Delegatus or what have you -- I am not really all that much into the whole rules business, mind you ):

I do have time set aside for a pretty massive painting session later today, though, so I hope I'll be able to make some good progress on the model (which has been sitting on my desk unpainted for quite a while now).

I also have a question regarding one of my previously vowed models: I did include Angron in my vow. However, I've kitbashed my own version of the Primarch in the interim. This guy here:

Now since painting an official FW Primarch model is still a pretty daunting prospect for me, I would like to use the kitbashed version as a test run, so to speak. Now if all goes well, I'll be able to finish both versions in time. But if time should run out, would the above version also count as a "legal" Angron towards my original vow?

He is a bit shorter than the original model, to be honest, but I think the converted version is a fairly close match in size and scope to the "official" Angron:

I'd be very happy if you could clarify this for me!

I'll be making an effort to complete both versions of Angron, but if push comes to shove, I'd rather take my time so I end up with a model I am perfectly happy with. So expect one Angron minimum, with a possible second one as bonus ;)

I second the soulreaper cannon proxy for heavy bolters, would fit much better with the unit.
