Plain old bloodletter

And here's a shot of the group so far

I don't know about you, but if I saw these guys coming at me I'd be way more scared than if they wer just normal bloodletters...but maybe that's just me. :unsure.:

Nope I think you're right, that group shot is so cool and the army is going to look amazing with units of those horrific monsters.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure out what I'm gonna do for the rest of the army, I have an idea for a Great Unclean One, and I think the Hieronymous would use psykers as subjects for making Pink Horrors so i'm thinking I'll use empire flagellants and make them a bit tentacle-y, but beyond that I'm not really sure what the rest of the army will look like.

Great work!
I particularly like the one with the mouth vent and the horns sprouting from the sides of the icon bearer's head.

The mouth vent is actually a speaker, that's why he count-as having an instrument, I'm just now realising that i was gonna put some aerials on him...hmmm, might have to think about adding them.

I'm not sure if you've ever played 'Inside' but my plan for the GUO is similar to the creature at the end...but with some mechanical augments.

Orks could work but I feel like they're a bit too muscular. And I'll have to have a look at Eldar, don't really know the models that well

Orks have the resilient biology that I expect would fascinate the Iron warrior especially their ability to survive the strangest of wound and surgeries by mad docs. Head transplants and all sorts, while well built they are only S3 in game and their T4 matches nicely with the extra toughness of plaguebearers.
Not sure what eldar models to suggest but there's something deliciously heretical about using eldar as basis for slaanesh daemons.

So I finished build Hieronymous....so here's some pics along with a close up of a poor fool who crossed his path. :)

Pretty happy with him, He might take a while to paint as there's a lot going on on this model.

When you put it like that I think i'm convinced, I think I might make them like a mutant rabble, some ork looking dudes, some zombie like, all a bit messed up.

Like the bloodletters and hyronimous, but the combat servitors are just Chaos Marines with bionics to me, tbh... :/

Not saying that they look bad, though.

Well yeah...The idea is that Hieronymous has turned marines into servitors. I could have chaos-ified some normal servitors, but there's no chaos units that really represent servitors (which, lets face it, look like humans with bionics) so I'm running them as Marines, so I figured they should keep the power armour. Fluffwise they are kind of are just marines with bionics but they're not independent thinking soldiers, they've had they're minds scrambled in the same way normal Imperium servitors have to make them totally compliant. I'm just calling them Combat Servitors to represent that they're not just bog standard marines, but rather, more of his experiments.

Hieronymous is mad scientist, I like the idea that no-one comes into contact with him without being tinkered with in some horrible way.

Na, there surely is difference, between the two :D.

Look, this guy is clearlyi n motion, no servitor looks like this :P :

++Update Time++

So, I figured it was about time the bloodletters got a leader, so here's a start of my bloodreaper

http://i.imgur.com/wlxdidt.jpg

Not overly happy with the GS so far, I really need to work on my GS skills.:unsure.:

I've also been trying to figure out how Heralds will fit into this army (both model-wise and fluff-wise) but I had a flash of inspiration the other night. The Heralds will be the experiments that have kept their knowledge and intelligence during their transformations, and will work kind of as his 'Advisers'

So, A Herald of Khorne would be his War Adviser and a Herald of Tzeentch would be something akin to a court wizard.

I had the idea that the Herald of Nurgle would be a surgical adviser, and be second-in-command of the experiments...This is what I have so far

http://i.imgur.com/dy7vwkv.jpg

I'm basically going for 'fat guy with skinny limbs on a mechanical throne palanquin'

I'm gonna give the palaquin legs, I'm thinking probably from ruststalker/infiltrators, but he probably wont be finished for a while as I need to order some bits and most bits shops take AGES to deliver to Australia.

I also got some work done on painting Hieronymous

http://i.imgur.com/pCLj3co.jpg

I think he's coming along nicely :biggrin.:

All looks very promising, the angle of the bloodletter champion makes it tricky to see exactly what's going on but the wired skull looks interesting. As for the heralds it's an interesting idea though suggests a certain level of cooperation with the test subjects so a expansion on that would be good, the surgeon on a palanquin is a great start and it's good to see some paint going on Hieronymous.

Hieronymous remembers very little of his past as an Iron Warrior, a symptom of his madness. He does remember that he always had visions. With every passing year his visions became clearer and insanity grew stronger. No one was sure whether the insanity was a result of his visions or vice versa. He slowly began to understand his visions, he realised he could create, he could grow daemons. Some said he was crazy, some thought it was ridiculous and others thought it was an affront to the gods themselves. He was told to ingnore it. Tired of being held back, he stole some equipment and fled with some cultists and a handful of marines who believed in his cause. They searched for a suitable new home and eventually found DX-11257Z. Whilst entering the planets atmosphere they were hit by one the planets constant electrical storms and crash landed on the only non-mountainous part of the planet. He claimed the planet as his own, renamed it 'Bedlam' and began turning the one structure; a crumbling ancient fortress, into his hellish laboratory.

200 years later Hieronymous, who now calls himself 'The Arch-Biosmith of Bedlam' has learned a lot. After some early very unsuccessful experiments he found that whilst he could turn people into things reminiscent of daemons, they often quickly devolve into an unliving pile (and one time a puddle) of bone and flesh. The way to keep his creations intact was to use the right subjects. Soldiers (whether volunteer cultists or captured enemies) maintain transformations into Khornate daemons the best, and Psykers are best for daemons of Tzeentch. He has also discovered that the more willing a subject is to transform, the better they are at keeping their intelligence and knowledge. Occasionally, pilgrims risk the dangerous journey to Bedlam, in order to be transformed to be closer to their God. These become the leaders of his army of creatures, and his main advisers.

After years of raiding and experimenting, the original marines who followed him have been so thoroughly augmented and had their brains scrambled by Hieronymous' tinkering that they are barely more than power armoured servitors, that Hieronymous now uses as his main retinue. This has demonstrated for the few who know about these experiments, what they had suspected for a long time. No one escapes Bedlam unchanged!

Very happy with how he turned out, for me he definitely looks the part! Took me ages to get the rust juuuuuussst right. It's also my first time using decals, could have gone better but i managed to hide my mistakes pretty well. I've also ordered the parts I need to make some plaguebearers, and will probably post of bit of fluff for the bloodletters when i finish the unit. Also, What do you think of my writing, it's really only like the 3rd thing i've written like this and would love some feedback. Edited by brettfp

Hieronymous is looking the bos, youve got hime just right and the bright white on the guardsman's teeth and eyes realy give the impression of terror.

As for the fluff thats a realy good job, short and to the point getting the tail across without a million paragraphs which is something I really really struggle to achieve and end up writing pages of the stuff.

All round I'm loving this project.

Somehow this reminds of an evil version of "Hedonismbot" from Futurama. :D (--> http://futurama.wikia.com/wiki/Hedonismbot )

I imagine he will practise a good amount of perversion, too... :)

Thanks, yeah, I've got lots more detail for fluff, but I didn't wanna make it too big, I've got a pretty short attention span and if it was any bigger and in someone elses thread I probably wouldn't read it, so i tried to keep it short. I'm thinking when i upload finished pics of units and characters i'll put a little blurb with them to explain them a bit.

I can tell you like it because like 80% of the posts on this thread are you or me. Glad you're liking it!

Yeah, I noticed that too, probably not too much of Hedonismbot style perversion, that's more for Slaanesh, but he's definitely up to some weird stuff

Quick Update, I made a start on my Great Unclean One

http://i.imgur.com/VE56DR9.jpg

http://i.imgur.com/uyqcPmE.jpg

turning the sword in his right hand into a chainsword was a massive pain, wont be doing that again soon. still a fair bit of work to do on him

made a test plaguebearer too

http://i.imgur.com/7bHaWoY.jpg

I'm going to make them mostly as abhumans, mutants, etc. I ordered a whole bunch of bits (hopefully they don't take too long to get here) and today I picked up a box of zombies, figured I'd try making one out of what i have. I think he's kinda cute!.
